Help finalising a thematic Cipher build
It's been a while! I was fairly active on the PoE forums back in the day, and backed Deadfire in the Fig campaign, but despite that I have hardly played it. Part of that was that I found the changes to the game mechanics from PoE jarring: I absolutely loved PoE's mechanics and I just didn't have the energy to learn to love Deadfire's. Perhaps a bigger part though was that Deadfire was released during the third year of my PhD and I just didn't have much time for gaming. Thankfully my PhD is now (successfully) behind me, it has been a long time since I played PoE, and Deadfire has matured a lot (I may have matured a little too). So when the itch to play a CRPG hit me recently, I thought I'd finally get round to playing through Deadfire. After spending altogether too long reading various discussions on this forum and elsewhere I've settled on the core of a character idea. Specifically I want to play as an Old Vailian Ocean Folk Cipher using various "duelist" style weapons (roughly speaking this includes Rapiers, Sabres, Swords, Daggers, Stilettoes, Small Shields and Pistols), emphasizing a flamboyant character (I'll be choosing passionate and clever a fair amount). I took some inspiration from @Aestus's recent Serafen build in this regard. Whilst I have the concept nailed down, I'm struggling to decide on the details, so I thought I'd ask here. First off, what subclass and multiclass to go with? My thoughts at the moment: Soulblade: this is an obvious choice if I'm going for a melee build. Soul Annihilation is a powerful ability, but I honestly think the Concentration on kill is a pretty nice bonus for a melee caster. There doesn't seem to be much downside compared to a generic Cipher. Beguiler: I really like Charm and Dominate (it's a large part of why I've decided to go with a Cipher), and the Beguiler kinda fits nicely with that. I say kinda because when it comes to casting Whispers of Treason or Puppet Master the bonuses aren't a that big (longer range, which is nice for WoT, and 5 Focus if they hit). However quite a lot of good Cipher spells are large Foe AoE Deception spells, and in those cases the Focus return can be quite big. Single class Cipher: the simplest choice. That said, Cipher has less exciting stuff going on at PL 8 and 9 than some classes. Time Parasite is great of course, and since I'm using the full Community Patch Defensive Mindweb could be pretty powerful. Driving Echoes is a big buff, but not particularly exciting. The passives are pretty good: A Soul's Echo makes your many Will targeting spells better and Shared Nightmares seems generically good, with a big synergy with Ascendants (+275% AoE with your free powers) and Soulblades using an AoE weapon like WotEP. I'm probably leaning away from this choice, but could be convinced otherwise. Cipher/Streetfighter: generally speaking I am not a fan of this sort of risk/reward class, but I have to say -50% Recovery is appealing (the other bonuses don't hurt either). What I don't know is (a) how bad the +20% Recovery penalty when not Heating Up or On The Edge is and (b) how easy it is to safely keep Heating Up active in important fights? I will add that from a role-playing point of view Streetfighter fits quite well: I can imagine my character being the kind of person who went out drinking in Old Vailia and getting into fights. Cipher/Trickster: the safer Cipher/Rogue choice since you get access to some pretty powerful defensive self-buffs. The basic question is (a) do the various Trickster powers add significant fun to the build and (b) do they overshadow Cipher powers? I want being a Cipher to be a core part of my character, so don't want to end up hardly using my Cipher powers because it's better to use Trickster powers. I do think this fits my archetype fairly well too. Cipher/Blackjacket: so I've already played through the prologue and a decent chunk of Neketaka with a Devoted/Soulblade using Greatswords. I decided not to carry on because I don't like being locked into a single weapon. When I look at the other Fighter subclasses the only one that stands out as an option is the Blackjacket, but it's a weird one. Generally multiclassing as a Fighter adds some welcome survivability to my build, particularly early on before powers like Borrowed Instincts become available. Blackjackets sacrifice some of that survivability (worse Constant Recovery) in exchange for more flexibility, and I'm struggling to judge whether it's worth it or not. It does mean I can start combat by quickly firing a bunch of pistols before switching to a melee weapon, which is nice, but I don't know if it's worth it beyond that. Maybe a generic Fighter is better, but somehow I don't like taking non-subclass characters (with the exception of Wizards). Thematically I think it's a decent fit, though less good than the two Rogue classes. Other: I'm open to other suggestions, as long as they fit with my character concept (I have no doubt that Arcane Archer/Ascendant or Ghost Heart/Ascendant are fun for example, but they don't fit my idea). I'd also welcome any suggestions on attribute spreads, with the caveat that I don't like dumping stats below 8? Finally, any other interesting info, combos etc. that might impact these builds would be welcome. Thanks in advance š

Lint Fix and Walls
On the Nexus there is a mod that solves the problem of the size of lint and cones. But about the explosive scattering of fragments during resource extraction - this is clearly a task for developers. It seems to me that automatically placing them in inventory is not the right solution, but physics do not need to be so diligently applied to the process, they should just fall to the ground, and not fly apart. By the way, this also applies to the breaking process itself, berries (feathers, etc.) should not fly off over huge distances when hit.

What are you Playing Now? Volume XIX: The New Beginning of the End of the Middle
After my epic LoreRim\Skyrim adventures I am having my normal break from this type of genre So I played 2 Fighting Fantasy (FF)CYOA PC games, Scorpion Swamp and Port of Peril As usual these provided great nostalgic experiences and especially Scorpion Swamp which was always one of my favorite books in the FF series Both quick games as usual, I finished each one in 4-5 hours Now Im playing Dead Island 2. Its a normal Zombie killing game and its lots of fun. These games typically follow the same model and it works hilarious and interesting NPCs who give you quests different types of zombies so you generally have to adopt different combat strategies interesting crafting around weapons lots of side quests so you can deviate from the main quest Its really not difficult, if you die you respawn immediately and the enemies are still wounded. So you can just keep dying and eventually you win every battle But its still entertaining, I never get bored of killing Zombies š§āāļø

Can you or others just summarize what is the real issue around age verification? Its necessary to primarily ensure under 16 cant access SM and adult sites anymore Do you object to that development, so do you believe under 16 should be able to access SM ? Or do you object to the fact SM will now request your age? I dont mind confirming my age or other details, I already do this on dozens of other online services and I have been doing that for years Here is a link around the countries that now require age verification MashableAll the states and countries that have age-verification l...This list will likely grow longer. @rjshae @Zoraptor if you could also comment that would be helpful so I can understand what you fundamentally concerned about? How is this going to change your life in a negative way?

- āSuggestion: Tunnel Map Upgrade for Grounded 2ā
Hello, I would like to make a suggestion and see if you find it interesting. Since we now have an advanced bracelet that is superior to the watch from the first game, I would like to propose an upgrade that could be purchased with science in Grounded 2. The upgrade would be a map that displays the tunnels while exploring, so players donāt get lost inside them.- nfl 2023-2024
I didn't watch the game, but Bad Bunny was fantastic at Halftime. I don't understand the lyrics and I'm unfamiliar with his catalogue, but the musical march through Latin American history was phenomenal. I have been to a fair amount of Mexican weddings and birthday parties, and that was the vibe.- Lint Fix and Walls
- Candy Glass ouro Sugar glass
I actually like this idea. It would have very minimal health but a significant amount of comfort. We currently have windowed walls in the game, and the stem windowed walls are the only ones that really let light through and are aesthetically pleasing. The candy could even make colored glass, sugar cubes could be harvested to make clear glass. Once again solid idea.- Yesterday
- Summer Update Suggestions
The Playgrounds. In Grounded 1 there were multiple features including the creature Spawner and Gnat Freedom. Would love to see these added back, and include A.X.L., Bandit, etc. Earth Worms. Bugs that dig around in the ground and hang from cave ceilings, needing Tier 3 Omni-Shovel upgrade to dig. Drops Wormy Parts, Wriggly Tail, Worm head, and Burrow Slime (Buggy too). Could be found in the garden, Croquet Court, and Entrance areas. The Black Bugs. Black Ox Beetle and Black Widow. Trap-door Spiders. Found in Pumpkin Patch, Ceremony, and Snack Bar Front. Could drop Dirty Fangs, Grimy Venom, and Trap-door chunks. New Weapon. Potato Boxing Gloves (Potato Beetle). Requiring 3 Potato Beetle Parts, 2 Lint Rope, 1 Chrysalis Leather, and 4 Pumpkin Bits.- What are you Playing Now? Volume XIX: The New Beginning of the End of the Middle
Been playing a lot of Against The Storm. They added Seals at some point, which I guess are the city builder equivalent of boss battles. Every time you fix a seal, the duration of the cycles gets extended, allowing you to build settlements farther from the city, and the farther you get the higher the difficulty. I beat the Gold Seal which is kinda the story goal. Now I am pushing through Prestige difficulty to get to the next one. Last cycle I was one settlement too far away. This time I may just beat it if I get lucky and beat the next couple of settlements in good time. I kinda doubt it since I am at Prestige 5 difficulty.- Grounded 2 the Dragonfly
I think it would be cool to have a dragonfly buggie but that would be super over powered, flight would only be given at the tail end of the game or if new game + makes a return- What are you Playing Now? Volume XIX: The New Beginning of the End of the Middle
Ok, so I went into Elden Ring NG+ and I have to say.... it's so damn easy, damn. Seems I'm completely overleveled. Nothing is really too much of a threat to me. Sure I still kinda die every once in a while, but so far I was able to absolutely smoke every boss I've attempted. Just today I've taken down Mogh again, and then I did Radahn... he couldn't even go into his phase 2. I've speeded through it a little, because I wanted to unlock the DLC area again. Haven't tried the bosses there yet, but I'm sure they won't be too much of an issue either. Feels a bit like Bloodborne, where I went into NG+ and just started smoking everything as if I'm still in the regular game.llightsey started following Obsidian General- POST YOUR SPECS
Inno3D puts the number of fans in the card name. Not all that relevant for a RTX 5080, but there's X2 and X3 variants of lower tier models. edit: Great, thanks to the new forum software not having an overview of the amount of pages, I keep missing that there's an extra page. Ah well, I'll just leave the redundant information here.- Some thoughts and suggestions that my friends and I had while playing Grounded 2
Hello, I would like to share some thoughts after playing the latest update of Grounded 2 with my friends. Here are our suggestions and ideas: 1. Increase the size of lint, because they are very small and difficult to collect. The same applies to pine cones. 2. It would be nice to have flying pets, because the map is getting bigger and more vertically complex, so constantly climbing somewhere or running around the map becomes slower and less exciting. Alternatively, you could add ziplines, like in the first part. 3. I think it would be logical if the spider could climb walls. 4. Also, when you kill mobs that drop food with spicy weapons, the food is cooked immediately. However, sometimes I kill such mobs with a spider, for example, or accidentally kill them with another weapon type, and because the food is not cooked, I just leave it lying on the ground, so I think it would be cool if there was an option to cook this raw food, provided you have some kind of spicy weapon.- Key Bindings (Buggy Controls)
Still no way to rebind buggy controls. And lots of other input related bugs I'm stuck with as a left-handed player. One day Obsidian will be able to address these issues...- No Corn Hog Chunks!
I need Corn Hog Chunks for a recipe but every corn dog you mine in the game only drops Billy Hog Bites. I assume this is a bug, but I cannot find anywhere that talks about this being identified. It's sort of an important ingredient in the anti-tang recipe. Is everyone else having this same issue?cbiggers1 started following No Corn Hog Chunks!- The What Are You Reading thread (now with a simpler name)
Finished Lies Weeping. That ending though...or lack thereof... Also it seems like it would be a good idea to read Port of Shadows as it's not just a side story, or is potentially not just a side story.- Music: Sharing and Listening - Where words fail, music speaks

The X3 in Inno3D products just means three fans, the number of slots it occupies or the number of power cables it takes is just coincidence. (While I'm doing the "um actually" thing, it's 16 lanes of PCIe 4.0 speeds because it's limited by what the CPU and motherboard. But that's only a ~1-2% performance loss so mostly immaterial.)
