kirottu Posted August 17, 2016 Posted August 17, 2016 Can I nevertheless use this opportunity to state again how ****ty the dialouge wheel is. I have three problems with dialogue wheel. 1, Needless obfuscation: written "yes", says "sure". 2, When the short written sentence doesn't match what my character says and/or does. 3, When the dialogue wheel is used to hide my lack of choice. Two or more written choices, but they all lead to my character saying/doing the same thing. 4 This post is not to be enjoyed, discussed, or referenced on company time.

It's particularly infuriating because it's a solved problem. Human Revolution (and presumably Mankind Divided will do a similar thing) has the standard console-adapted dialogue "diamond", but shows you extended text when you highlight any of the options. Even without being the full text, one complete, grammatically correct sentence is often all that's needed to establish the correct meaning. There is no valid reason to not employ this approach. There are invalid reasons of course, not least amongst them the aforementioned intentional deception in order to hide the absence of meaningful choices. In other cases I suspect the dialogue hasn't actually been written yet and the scripters are just working off a flowchart (and couldn't be bothered to backfill the UI). 2 L I E S T R O N GL I V E W R O N G

HA! Good Fun! I would say that Eidos Montreal probably did the dialogue wheel the best for their take on the Deus Ex games. They do bother to give you at least a sentence long summation of whatever dialogue decision you make that's at least 95% in line with what you had in mind when you clicked that option. Quote “Political philosophers have often pointed out that in wartime, the citizen, the male citizen at least, loses one of his most basic rights, his right to life; and this has been true ever since the French Revolution and the invention of conscription, now an almost universally accepted principle. But these same philosophers have rarely noted that the citizen in question simultaneously loses another right, one just as basic and perhaps even more vital for his conception of himself as a civilized human being: the right not to kill.” -Jonathan Littell <<Les Bienveillantes>> Quote "The chancellor, the late chancellor, was only partly correct. He was obsolete. But so is the State, the entity he worshipped. Any state, entity, or ideology becomes obsolete when it stockpiles the wrong weapons: when it captures territories, but not minds; when it enslaves millions, but convinces nobody. When it is naked, yet puts on armor and calls it faith, while in the Eyes of God it has no faith at all. Any state, any entity, any ideology that fails to recognize the worth, the dignity, the rights of Man...that state is obsolete." -Rod Serling
Chilloutman Posted August 18, 2016 Posted August 18, 2016 I found out that there is finally some Mass effect trilogy bundle, do someone know if it contains DLCs as well? I want to finally play it now when its in complete package, but I want DLCs as well :/ I'm the enemy, 'cause I like to think, I like to read. I'm into freedom of speech, and freedom of choice. I'm the kinda guy that likes to sit in a greasy spoon and wonder, "Gee, should I have the T-bone steak or the jumbo rack of barbecue ribs with the side-order of gravy fries?" I want high cholesterol! I wanna eat bacon, and butter, and buckets of cheese, okay?! I wanna smoke a Cuban cigar the size of Cincinnati in the non-smoking section! I wanna run naked through the street, with green Jell-O all over my body, reading Playboy magazine. Why? Because I suddenly may feel the need to, okay, pal? I've SEEN the future. Do you know what it is? It's a 47-year-old virgin sitting around in his beige pajamas, drinking a banana-broccoli shake, singing "I'm an Oscar Meyer Wiene"
the_dog_days Posted August 18, 2016 Posted August 18, 2016 (edited) I found out that there is finally some Mass effect trilogy bundle, do someone know if it contains DLCs as well? I want to finally play it now when its in complete package, but I want DLCs as well :/ It does not. ME2 will have a Cerberus Network code that grants you access to a few small DLC, and I think the ME1 DLC might be with it, but that's it. If you're playing on PC and you don't detest Origin, you can sign up for Origin Access ($5 a month) which includes all three titles (I believe all BioWare titles are included) and a good chunk of the DLCs come with them. Chilloutman Posted August 18, 2016 Posted August 18, 2016 so still no complete edition? ef that I'm the enemy, 'cause I like to think, I like to read. HoonDing Posted August 18, 2016 Posted August 18, 2016 FFXV coming to peecee? The ending of the words is ALMSIVI.
Zoraptor Posted August 18, 2016 Posted August 18, 2016 so still no complete edition? ef that The 'likely' remasters will probably have the dlc bundled. Inquisition got an Ultimate Edition or whatever it's called pretty quickly so they seem to have shifted their policy a bit on the idea.
LittleRose Posted August 18, 2016 Posted August 18, 2016 FFXV coming to peecee? I don't know, but I've heard that Nier: Automata will.
HoonDing Posted August 19, 2016 Posted August 19, 2016 Squeenix finally make Finql fantasy great again The ending of the words is ALMSIVI.
sorophx Posted August 19, 2016 Posted August 19, 2016 jeez what a mess of ideas and styles... I always wondered how mixing Lord of the Rings and Starship Troopers would look, and now I know 1 Walsingham said: I was struggling to understand ths until I noticed you are from Finland. And having been educated solely by mkreku in this respect I am convinced that Finland essentially IS the wh40k universe.
