But a minigun? That thing is almost as big as I am. What kind of cargo pants is my soldier wearing that he can stash that monstrosity out of sight?

The guards just think you're really happy to see them. Edited by Amentep

I cannot - yet I must. How do you calculate that? At what point on the graph do "must" and "cannot" meet? Yet I must - but I cannot! ~ Ro-Man

Maybe it's because I'm comparing it to most video games that have absolutely awful dialogue that seems as though it was written by a grade 9 creative writing student, but the dialogue in these Uncharted games is quite good.  A lot of little humorous exchanges between Drake and his companions.

One in particular that I'd just played through struck me as just natural and genuine, acted perfectly by the voice actors, and even the character animators did a good job matching the characters' movements to the conversation.  It's when Drake and Chloe run into Elena and her camera man.  The part where Elena introduces herself as "last year's model" to Chloe and Drake's all, "Oh, you're so funny" in a sarcastic tone was great.

I wish more games had the kind of natural dialogue that the Uncharted series does.

Yeah, the jovial banter is a strength of those titles. There is a good one in the 3rd game involving a water well. Don't want to spoil, but it is pretty hilarious in a corny, cute kind of way.

I own a PS4 just for the Uncharted Collection, Uncharted 4(when it comes out), and Tekken 7 (when it comes out). I replay those 3 games from time to time. 2 is my favorite, but 3 is great as well. 1 was a solid game as the first in a series.

Probably Amy Hennig's experience in the field showing there, the later Legacy of Kain games had some similar moments between Kain and Raziel, when they were not trying to kill each other. I got the kids a PS4 and the Uncharted collection for Christmas, and they've been enthralled since, I was thinking of getting them the two new Lara Croft games but they don't seem so tongue in cheek or as fun as Uncharted so I went with Mr Drake.

Quite an experience to live in misery isn't it? That's what it is to be married with children.

I've seen things you people can't even imagine. Pearly Kings glittering on the Elephant and Castle, Morris Men dancing 'til the last light of midsummer. I watched Druid fires burning in the ruins of Stonehenge, and Yorkshiremen gurning for prizes. All these things will be lost in time, like alopecia on a skinhead. Time for tiffin.

Ghostofanakin did you jump into the pool on the roof of the hotel in Nepal?  :D

And 3 could have been much better if only there was no Hobbit movie, a release date set in stone 11.11.11 >_<  and some other things. :/

Played "Punch Club" all of last night. It's a small, simple, low-budget game, but surprisingly addictive;)

You played a young, down-and-out young boxer. There are loads of Rocky, Teenage mutant ninja turtles and other humorous references.

Give it an evening or two of your time;) You won't regret it.

Still playing Satellite Reign.  I've now upgraded from Minigun to Laser Minigun.  It's kind of a moot point right now because I try to stealth everything and avoid firefights at all costs, but I figure that eventually I'll have to do a mission guns blazing, so I'm still arming my crew as best I can.  I managed to pick up a Stealth Module, which allows me to give someone other than my Infiltrator the cloak ability.  The Infiltrator is still the vastly superior choice to send in solo since I have maxed out cloak ability, which lasts a lot longer than the invis from the Stealth module.  Still, occassionally a mission requires a specific individual to infiltrate the compound for whatever reason, so it's handy to have.  I'm starting to break into really heavily secured compounds now, so I have to be really careful because there are enough guards around that getting spotted usually leads to death.  There are just too many of them to be able to give them the slip.  This makes for some great tension while I desperately try to stick to the shadows when deep into guarded territory.  I can't wait to see what the endgame missions look like.

Magic the Gathering Forge. Its a free program where you can play the card game MTG against AI or players with all kinds of decks. I re-created the decks I have in real life and tested them against players and AI. A lot of fun.

I finally ran into a mission in Satellite Reign that I don't think I will be able to stealth.  I need to extract a researcher from a very deep location in a heavily guarded compound.  I can get to the researcher unseen without much trouble, but they can't go invisi-mode like my Infiltrator can.  So, once I feel I'm properly equipped, I'm going to do it bloody style.  There are 2 gates into the compound.  I'll hardwire the main gate shut then go in through the side entrance and hardwire that shut once my team is inside so reinforcements can't come in from the outside.  Then I'll ninja stealth kill as many guards as I can to thin the ranks, but eventually I'll get detected and I'll need to just start shooting.  I'll then murder every single guard inside that compound.  Once they're all dead, I'll get the researcher and we'll calmly walk out.  That's the plan, anyway.

I'm taking a break from the Nathan Drake collection.  Finished the first two, but I'll play the third one closer to when Uncharted 4 is set to be released.

On to Assassin's Creed Syndicate.

Hmm ... Evie or Jakob.  I can't decide which one to use.  I've stuck with Evie for most of the time, but that's because the stealth so far has been easy.  On more difficult missions, her stealth-focused gameplay (I know you don't HAVE to make her stealth) might start to annoy me.

So I started playing Dragon's Dogma PC today in my hungover state. It seems it's a very good port, perfect performance and enough graphical settings. That was the only bit worrying me about this release. Glad to see it fulfills every expectation.

The actual game is pretty great too.

I've been playing it too. Never played the console version, so I'm running this one blind. Decided to play a strider and kept two mages in my party for awhile before I realized I need two warriors and only one mage to be optimal. Now I can actually take on bandits without having to bailout half way through a fight because of the stupid single save file. (I know why the developers implemented that, but the pawn system in an open world RPG, reducing the number of save files to one was a mess of an idea.)

I played the core game, but I never did get around to playing the expansion?  DLC?  Whatever the heck the extra stuff was.

Fun game.

I've just started playing Dragons Dogma on the pic as well. A port that runs really well so far. Just got to Gran Soren after three hours. Love exploring. I played the PS3 version back in the day for around 30 hours but love the vastly improved load times, better resolution and textures and 60 fps. Huge difference.

Also playing Assassins Creed Syndicate on the ps4 and after hating Unity, I find myself really enjoying this title. I actually enjoy walking/running around the city collecting random stuff this time around and enjoy the aspects of both characters with playing Jacob mostly due to when my stealth breaks, he can kill his way out of anything lol

And besides that, just making different character builds on Grim Dawn. Just love that game through and through

The game is basically complete now, right?  I haven't played it in a year, maybe longer.  I very much liked it when I did play it.  Not surprising since it's the spiritual successor to my favorite loot em up ever, Titan Quest.  Supposedly the final release is in about a month, if I recall correctly.  I'll start playing it again once that happens.

Yeah. Content complete and release in February from what I've heard.

Cool.  I can't wait to give the finished product a spin in about a month.

As for what I'm playing, still Satellite Reign.  I now have a quest to both extract a person and to get a person in.  Both those quests throw a serious monkey wrench into my usual send my infiltrator in solo gameplan, since the person I have to escort can't cloak.  I guess I'll have to go full on bloody for both of those.  Of course, I could just skip those missions entirely, they're not mandatory.

I also started playing TERA again.  The whole loli and furry thing creeps me out, but it still has far and away the best combat of any MMO I've ever played, it's not even close.  It's a good looking game too.  It's just too bad that the quests are so incredibly dull.  I'm talking the absolute most bog standard kill x monsters crap you can possibly imagine.  Oh well, at least the game seems quite solo-friendly.

Assassin's Creed Syndicate's "level suggestion" guide is a bit confusing.  I'll click on a quest and see it suggests I have to be (for example) level 4 or higher, but then when I go through the quest the end boss ends up being a level 6, which ends up giving me trouble since I was a level 4.

Other than that, it's a fun game so far.  I think I'm liking it more than the previous one set in France, I believe.

I bought my 5-year old son a game called Splatoon last week.  I had kept him offline for he first week, but yesterday he convinced me to let him play online.  I was pretty worried, it is one thing to beat up on his mom and sister, but I know that online multiplayer can be pretty cutthroat.  The nice thing about Splatoon (and the Wii U) is that it designed around a young audience, so that keeps the language clean.  But there is no way to protect him from getting owned.

My fears were unnecessary.  He has been tearing through games, winning matches, shooting baddies, and is up to level 10.  It's pretty crazy to watch.  I do wonder how old the people he is playing are.  I doubt there are that many 5-year olds playing.

Lovers in a Dangerous Spacetime is one of the most imaginative, clever and most focused couch co-op games I have ever played. Ideally get your significant other to play it with you, sit together on a couch, grab your controllers and start telling each other in sweet voice "Go and man the ****ing upper turret you ****, I can't hold the ship by myself!"

Good times. We're gonna play the crap out of this.
