What you did today

Bought Magic The Gathering cards for 40 bucks. Can't wait for the fresh reinforcements to arrive, they're direly needed because of the ever increasing arms race among my Magic The Gathering playing friends. Need to stay atop the heap.

I gazed at the dead, and for one dark moment I saw a banquet.

I think it's time for me to go outside again...my brain is spitting out befuddled farts way too much this afternoon.

It's a lovely day, too. I always like this period where we've turned the clocks forward not too long ago so the days are longer but not yet so long that on hot days it stays "too hot" (for me) all night long...

Indeed, ever since the time change, it is such a delight to go out to dog walks, shedding the depressing darkness of the winter its like a new world outside has been revealed and its late enough that its not too hot! I have been ecstatic :)

To bad for your migraines, i hope it will pass..

Was working for 8 hours, baked two cheescakes after, read some SJW tears and then played Pillars.

@Gorth come to Poland, maybe some cheescake might cheer you up.

Doc. appointment time! Over the phone he was saying he might want to order an MRI just to eliminate stuff. Which always sounds scary. But I think it's just the precaution route rather than any specific worry in his head. Better to check, I guess. Gah I hate hospitals. Really really hate hospitals. I dislike the DMV more, but not by much.

Starting new job tomorrow. From reading some of the material they sent I think I'm wading into some deep water. Pun intended.

Got home, saw a box on my doorstep, thought "YES, MY JERKY IS FINALLY HERE."  .... then "Oh wait, it's from Paradox. Well, I guess it'll do..."

(couple hours later, jerky did arrive as well - so I am now a doubly happy camper).

My brain is apparently normal ... although I'm sure some might debate that. :-

So now it's a matter of cycling through the series of triptan "abortive" drugs (like Grom mentioned a while back) to see if there's one that helps me. I really dislike drugs and avoid them when at all possible (gritting thru the pain much of the time, as it were) but yeah...buttloads of advil is not sufficient at this time and I'm pretty ready to find something to help, now. :disguise:

Always fun and nerve racking going into work on the first day, good luck!

Speaking of work, just found out I'm going full time at my job (software eng at a small startup) towards the end of April.

Just living the dream. The weather is starting to approach pleasant and just as I start to enjoy taking the dogs on long walks again right on cue the flowers on the **** trees start blooming and the whole neighborhood begins to take on the aroma of a dirty porno set. Or ASU.

In other news I finally booked passage to Italia

I got my PoE boxed set with snazzy signatures.  Haven't opened it yet, though.

Also looked through some recipes on the .pdf cookbook.  Might try some, particularly the easy looking ones because I need more easy food to cook.

That's what the office printer is for, my good man. I am still more comfortable with a regular book than reading things on a screen, myself. Wish I had pre-ordered the Witcher 3 CE, thinking about physical v, digital, certainly would save me some download cap, hah.

The storm has reached Austria, 200 km/h wind gusts, 5 power outages already, stuff flying all over the place. I'm, actually tempted to hop on my bicycle just to find out how long I can battle the wind, though I hate the idea of getting decapitated by flying debris and branches.

Heh, that was my original plan. I was even going to print it double sided because Im such a thoughtful guy. But I started printing and it came out very dark so I cancelled until I can fiddle with the printer setting.

Yeah I just prefer books to any digital book like the Kindle, its the tactile experience I prefer

On CNN at Davos this year Richard Quest asked all the CEO of all the corporations he interviewed " so what do you prefer reading a paper book or using an E-book " and they all preferred a normal book to an E-book, the E-book was just more convenient

Today was my last day with ****ty pay. From tomorrow on I will earn at least twice the amount. Especially this month will be great, because it means pay from last month + pay from my overwork hours and remaining vacation days + the new pay. $$$$$$$$$

I can totally understand that but personally I've ruined paper books for myself by getting used to high quality narrators. A good narrator, or several if you're lucky can really add to the experience of a good book (Downside being bad ones can ruin them but that's happened to me twice out of 40 books). Can you recommend anything bruce? Best book I've read lately is Something More Than Night by Ian Tregilis. https://mobile.audible.com/pd/Sci-Fi-Fantasy/Something-More-Than-Night-Audiobook/B00GY9O64C?s=s
