I'm just wondering why there aren't that many kids running around. you'd think the biological imperative to reproduce would be pretty hefty after an apocolypse but meh. of course with the number of rads that you get I'm just wondering if everyone is sterilized, (currently is passing the 400 mark because he hasn't been able to find his way back to a doctors house or anything while doing the main questline.) jaguars4ever
Hey, I'm only at that little township place up north and I've already found dog meat. I believe he's a random encounter, I've already put in 17 hours of gameplay and haven't seen him yet. I'm almost certain it's not a random encounter. I found Dogmeat in Scrapyard which is south of Minefield . He'll be fighting a bunch of raiders...or would have killed them all by the time you get there. Good Dogmeat! random n00b
Bobblehead Medicine = Vault 101, Dad's officeBobblehead Science = Vault 106, Lab level Spoiler tags, please. Rosbjerg
In Denmark it was released the 30th.. So maybe it's just a bit late in your country? Fortune favors the bald.
random n00b
Nah, I just found out that they've had it available at the mall for at least two or three days... but at the local "specialised" game store, they wouldn't release it until today, the asshats. I mean, nothing ever works as it should in my country, everyone's willing to bend some rule or another to make an extra penny, except for, conveniently, the morons at the game store. Idiots. And yeah, the official release date for Europe seems to have been the 30th... so they actually got it wrong. *rants away*
Monte Carlo
How about Fallout: Total War? You, sir, are a genius. After all, Tactics showed how the setting could be used to make a solid squad-based wargame, and be more fun that the pure RPGs to boot (the best RPG in Fallout should be a grenade launcher). A strategy game set in a quirky PA setting like Fallout's would be groovier than Austin Powers wearing a pimp's hat whilst driving a segway scooter. Indifferent as I am towards FO1 & 2, you really can't fault the setting behind Fallout. Am buying FO3 out of idle curiosity, mainly because I've not bought a game for almost a year and I need a distraction until SoZ comes out. I'm hoping I like it. Monte Carlo
^ BTW, anybody else remember the Morrow Project and Gamma World? I'm wondering if MCA or Scott Bennie were influenced by them or played them? The Morrow Project (i.e. vault-frozen government specialists defrosted to tame post-apocalyptic America) is a bit Fallout-esque. Cheers MC

I was thinking the same thing. With the apparent 'respawn' rate, humanity should be pretty much dead by now. Where do little raiders come from? Spontaneous birth from the very waste itself? It's like in real life when I drive down the street and young thugs spontaneously spawn on the road. The drop a foot or two to the ground and start walking in random directions. Magister Lajciak
I just bought Fallout 3. I will have to wait until my new computer arrives to play it though. I have ordered it over two weeks ago, but there were some complications. Hopefully, these will be sorted out soon and it will ship quickly! Aristes
I went but I still think it sounds pretty shaky. Doesn't explain Megaton, which is a settled town by now, complete with some children. Two, at least. haha I'm really enjoying the game. It really does blow Morrowind and Oblivion out of the water.
Maria Caliban
In Vault 101, an older woman makes the comment that in her day, there were many children in the Vault, but now-a-days there are only a handful. I found Agetha and am doing the violin quest: is the Vault HQ dangerous for a level 5 gunslinger? Also, I found 2/5 of the Keppler Tapes. Any idea on how to get the rest? alanschu
I'm guessing as lame as it is, it's done to reduce the killing of children.
Lare Kikkeli
That doesnt really make sense alan since the kids are unkillable. Can't wait for someone to mod that in btw
mkreku
Also, I found 2/5 of the Keppler Tapes. Any idea on how to get the rest? Nope. I've also found two of them (but probably not the same two as you have). One was found in a shack far out in the wilderness. I wouldn't be able to return there again. They seem to be VERY randomly placed. Swedes, go to: Spel2, for the latest game reviews in swedish!

Maria Caliban
I just now realized that sleeping for 8+ hours gets you a Well Rested (+10% xp) state. Then again, I just got my own house. My explosive skill is 15. Oh well then I don't know haha. 1) Kids aren't that interesting. 2) A bunch of kids just wandering around doesn't add much and takes away from FPS. 3) As noted in the game, the birthrate is going down. GreasyDogMeat
Bought the Rock-It Launcher from Moira. Basically, you can load it with any junk item you find in the wasteland. My ever growing enjoyment of this game just shot up after I exploded a raider's head with a baseball glove fired from the launcher.
Calax
I found the linclon memorial and the Jefferson memorial, Rivet town is ok but I need to do more exploring near the Vault 101 site and Megaton. The national mall is ok... it's overwhelmed with supermutants up the wazzo and my first time there was traumatic to say the least (reloading dozens of times becuase I was running around with very low health was... unplesant. but I got about 6 supermutants before completing my objective) Victor of the 5 year fan fic competition!
