walkerguy Posted August 14, 2008 Posted August 14, 2008 Well, about how much you guys think its gonna be? Twitter | @Insevin
Deadly_Nightshade Posted August 14, 2008 Posted August 14, 2008 $40-50, give or take $5. "Geez. It's like we lost some sort of bet and ended up saddled with a bunch of terrible new posters on this forum." -Hurlshot
Pop Posted August 14, 2008 Posted August 14, 2008 Depends on the platform. Consoles will hit $60, but the PC version could go as low as $40. Join me, and we shall make Production Beards a reality!
Dark_Raven Posted August 15, 2008 Posted August 15, 2008 I'll give them $20. Hades was the life of the party. RIP You'll be missed.
Wrath of Dagon Posted August 15, 2008 Posted August 15, 2008 $15 million. "Moral indignation is a standard strategy for endowing the idiot with dignity." Marshall McLuhan

Deraldin Posted August 16, 2008 Posted August 16, 2008 $15 million. We'll take that. Will you accept payment in pennies?
WILL THE ALMIGHTY Posted August 16, 2008 Posted August 16, 2008 Will you give me money if I play your game? "Alright, I've been thinking. When life gives you lemons, don't make lemonade - make life take the lemons back! Get mad! I don't want your damn lemons, what am I supposed to do with these? Demand to see life's manager. Make life rue the day it thought it could give Cave Johnson lemons. Do you know who I am? I'm the man who's gonna burn your house down! With the lemons. I'm going to to get my engineers to invent a combustible lemon that burns your house down!"
Volourn Posted August 23, 2008 Posted August 23, 2008 $60 - $80 like most new games. DWARVES IN PROJECT ETERNITY = VOLOURN HAS PLEDGED $250.
walkerguy Posted August 23, 2008 Author Posted August 23, 2008 Yes, I think its on an hourly basis, but I'm not sure. Twitter | @Insevin
Patrick K Mills Posted August 24, 2008 Posted August 24, 2008 $60 - $80 like most new games. Are those Zimbabwean dollars? I've never paid for a computer or console game that was more than $65 unless it was a special edition.
Tigranes Posted August 24, 2008 Posted August 24, 2008 Actually, 'next-gen' games are sold at a standard of 120NZD over here... which is 85USD these days. I actually ended up having a friend in the US buy most of my games over the years. Let's Play: Icewind Dale Ironman (Complete) Let's Play: Icewind Dale II Ironman (Complete) Let's Play: Divinity II (Complete) Let's Play: Baldur's Gate Trilogy Ironman - BG1 (Complete) Let's Play: Baldur's Gate Trilogy Ironman - BG2 (In Progress)
Moatilliatta Posted August 25, 2008 Posted August 25, 2008 That's because you live outside the civilized world. I get expensive games because of taxes and lots of 'em.
Musopticon? Posted August 25, 2008 Posted August 25, 2008 Usually it's 50 euros for a new pc game and 70 for a new console game, excluding cheaper retail games like SoaSE. Those prices translate to around 74 dollars for PC games and 103 dollars for console games. Ergo, most of you westerners get them pretty cheap. It's not even possible to rent or return here. No wonder internet auction sites like huuto.net are so popular. To be blunt though, I haven't bought a full-price game since the Witcher and NWN 2(though I bought that from London, heh). kirottu said: I was raised by polar bears. I had to fight against blood thirsty wolves and rabid penguins to get my food. Those who were too weak to survive were sent to Sweden. It has made me the man I am today. A man who craves furry hentai. So let us go and embrace the rustling smells of unseen worlds
mkreku Posted August 25, 2008 Posted August 25, 2008 Are those Zimbabwean dollars? I've never paid for a computer or console game that was more than $65 unless it was a special edition. A normal console game costs 599 SEK in Sweden. With the American dollar being like a Zimbabwean dollar at the moment, that adds up to $95. (For example: http://www.game.se/acatalog/Online_Catalog...S_GAMES_17.html ) A normal PC game costs 449 SEK. That's $71 in Zimb.. er.. American dollars. ( http://www.game.se/acatalog/Online_Catalog...hooters_68.html ) You can of course find slightly lower prices if you shop online, but that's what you pay in the stores here. Rockband costs $316 in Swedish stores. I usually pay around $100 for the Collector's Edition of the games I like. Swedes, go to: Spel2, for the latest game reviews in swedish!
Hell Kitty Posted August 25, 2008 Posted August 25, 2008 PC games in OZ are around $70 to $100, and console games tend to be $90 to $110. Lately I've been getting stuff from the US because I can get it at half price.
Tigranes Posted August 25, 2008 Posted August 25, 2008 Yep. Then the local press publishes crybaby stories about local game dealers going out of business. Let's Play: Icewind Dale Ironman (Complete) Let's Play: Icewind Dale II Ironman (Complete) Let's Play: Divinity II (Complete) Let's Play: Baldur's Gate Trilogy Ironman - BG1 (Complete) Let's Play: Baldur's Gate Trilogy Ironman - BG2 (In Progress)
Patrick K Mills Posted August 25, 2008 Posted August 25, 2008 The American dollar may be low but it hasn't affected the price of consumer goods as far as I've noticed. Zimbabwe-eque or not I still get all my games at $40-50. Bread may be $10,000 a loaf, but that's only because I shop at Whole Foods.
Joseph Bulock Posted August 25, 2008 Posted August 25, 2008 Console games are $60 bucks here. My blood! He punched out all my blood! - Meet the Sandvich
Cl_Flushentityhero Posted August 25, 2008 Posted August 25, 2008 Games are really the only "cheap" thing left in the U.S. Everything else is pretty much tanking with the dollar.
Gfted1 Posted August 26, 2008 Posted August 26, 2008 Er, you all realize that a dollar is still worth a dollar in the US dont you? I think you're thinking of inflation. Yes, prices for things do rise but that has absolutely nothing to do with how the dollar is faring against foreign currency unless said product is manufactured overseas and imported. Even then, you dont see prices fluctuating daily as does the financial markets. "I'm your biggest fan, Ill follow you until you love me, Papa"
Cl_Flushentityhero Posted August 26, 2008 Posted August 26, 2008 There's also the matter of anything that has a visible or hidden fuel surcharge. In the end, more expensive is more expensive, and significantly so.
