Okay, I've changed my mind. I binge watched the first season and halfway into the second season... THE DRAGON PRINCE IS A STINKING PILE OF BRAINWASHING SOCIAL JUSTICE GARBAGE.    It is more of a SJW brainwashing propaganda and social re-engineering agenda than a show.  Avoid it.

So I checked out The Dragon Prince, because Avatar and... it's actually pretty good. Made it to episode 7. Will continue tomorrow.

I've changed my mind.

The stinking pile of garbage was  just one social justice trope after another, one political identity propaganda after another, one feminist BS after another.  The show just slowly and gradually feed those SJW BS to its viewers for optimal brainwashing results, and even I could not take it halfway through the second season.  I stopped watching when the little queen's parents were revealed to be some LGBTQ couple... IN A MEDIEVAL FANTASY.  (There had been a lot of SJW BS littered and force-fed all over the show, but that was the point when I stopped watching.)

And this is coming from someone who NEVER vote Republican  and consider himself a democratic socialist. Even I could not take this much social justice BS.

So sorry I recommended this garbage.  Avoid this show.

What are all these SJW elements? Only thing I've noticed so far was the dreadlocks king and the lesbians.

IN A MEDIEVAL FANTASY.

I hate when people use this term incorrectly. Medieval fantasy is a fantasy placed in actual medieval times. King Arthur and knights of the round table is medieval fantasy, because it takes place in actual medieval Europe. Anything placed in any never never land is not medieval fantasy even if the setting and technological advance is similar.

I also don't like when people use frases like "it wasn't possible then". What do you mean then? Are you a historian for a fantasy land now?

I see The Outpost is back on. Kind of an okay series. Not getting much love on metacritic though. Anybody else watching it?

I was thinking a bit more about it and my conclusion is: The show feels somewhat rushed. To me, the "big events" don't feel big, because they happen so fast and then nobody cares. Like, when step-brother

suddenly learns magic, the prince and that other guy are like "oh cool". Jesus, he's the first human EVER to do magic without some primal stone thingy and that's all you have to say?

There's lots of other stuff that annoyed me (not sjw related), which kinda bums me out. I'd say a lot can be blamed on this 9 episodes / season setup. Avatar had 20 episodes / season and that felt a lot better, because there was more breathing space for character progression. It felt like a long journey. The Dragon Prince feels like a quick field trip.

Now I'm not saying it's super bad. I'm very likely going to check out season 3. But I do hope it'll step up the game a tad.

Don't dismiss The Dragon Prince due to ktchong posting on it, this show is legit excellent. Especially since season 2 dropped the bizarre framerate choice.

ktchong melting down over it makes me want to watch it more tbh

Binged on all 6 episodes of "Good Omens". Going in with low expectations certainly helped, but I would have loved it even without the boon. The cast was particularly perfect (including Dog), and while the book is of course better, it's light years better than any other Pterry's and Gaiman's adaptation I've seen. Dunno if Sir Pterry would've been proud, but at least not embarrassed.

Can't believe they'd still be clipping dogs ears in the utopian future but I've heard PatStew is big on rescues so maybe that has something to do with it.

I am more excited about the RLM video(s) on it than the show itself, and I've even seen all of TNG.

How I have existed fills me with horror. For I have failed in everything - spelling, arithmetic, riding, tennis, golf; dancing, singing, acting; wife, mistress, whore, friend. Even cooking. And I do not excuse myself with the usual escape of 'not trying'. I tried with all my heart.

In my dreams, I am not crippled. In my dreams, I dance.
