The most vivid nightmare was one with teeth.

I remember I was sitting in a dim lit room with a woman on a rocking chair she was trying to say something but I don't know what. Her teeth started to turn into black tar, it started it pour out of her mouth choking her. I ran away trying to yell but teeth started to sprout. What emerged looked like elephant tusk that began grow outside my mouth. The teeth grew so big that my jaw snapped and mouth was opened at a 180 degree angle. Then I died or something don't remember the rest.

I've had strange and often recurring dreams for most of my life, but the period in which I actively pursued lucid dreaming would take the cake.

It was a period of about 2 years, between 18-20, in which I'd practiced lucid dreaming to the point where I could slip into a dream every night fully aware. I clearly remember stuff like slipping into a nightmare getting hunted by wolves, which you shift in a peaceful walk once you realize you're dreaming, or turning a dream about the last episode of Game of Thrones in a snowball fight at winterfell. With a bit of focus i could literally shape my dreams, and if I got bored of it I just blinked my eyes to wake up.

Gave me really relaxing, fun dreams, until at some point I somehow got stuck in a nightmare, aware of it, and couldn't wake myself up. Most horrifying experience in my life, as my brain somehow thought it was a good idea to have me skinned alive by harpies or something, all while I desperately tried to wake up. When it eventually ended, I was standing in an empty field, with what looked like chunks of a body next to me. Somehow I felt that I could wake myself up now, so i did and never pushed lucid dreaming as far again.

I also have a tendency to dream about being naked in public when I'm stressed out about something, usually paper deadlines. Had'em so often that i use it as a marker that I'm dreaming during finals/when deadlines draw near.

Tonight I dreamt that ShadySands and I were dealing a drug similar to Meth except that it also severly prolonged life and granted enhanced reflexes and strength.

We were trying to get some people out of prison and since I have no idea how Shady looks like my brain just substituted his avatar. Meaning, essentially, that he was represented by Captain Sisko.

Lessons learned: Don't read the forums, play Sunless Skies and watch an episode of Breaking Bad before going to bed. :)

A while ago I had a dream where I was stuck outside a mall with my dead car. It was night time and cold outside. I was trying to get my car to start up when I saw this large pagan goat man approach me. He was in flannel and wearing a scarf, I swear he looked like he was an art major. He also had a long neck, just a bit shorter than a llama's neck. He politely said that I owe him money, about 5 dollar and that he needed it now.

I screamed and ran off into the mall. There were no displays or any inventory in there, just empty buildings. A few people where shopping but they had animal heads. Pagan hipster is running after me telling me I owe him money. I am screaming like a banshee, desperately trying to get away from him sprinting all around the mall trying to get rid of him.

I wind up outside the mall again and bolt for my car. The goat man is gently knocking on the car window and telling me to calm down and give him his money. Well my car starts up I drive off but he is clinging to the car telling me give him his money and we can talk more about it when I get out of the car. And that is all I can remember from that dream.

Pagan hipster if you are still somewhere in my subconscious, I am not giving you the 5 dollars.

Sometimes I have dreams within dreams. I wake up from a dream within a dream but I'm still dreaming. Weird.

Just what do you think you're doing?! You dare to come between me and my prey? Is it a habit of yours to scurry about, getting in the way and causing bother?

What are you still bothering me for? I'm a Knight. I'm not interested in your childish games. I need my rest.

Begone! Lest I draw my nail...

I googled it, I was relieved to learn that it's pretty common. I found out it's called "double dreaming", not to be confused with "false awakening" which causes anxiety and confusion.

A few days ago I had this weird dream:

There was this stray cat outside and it was begging for food. I gave the cat some food and stood there until he had finished up eating the food.

All of a sudden, a plant with all sorts of hard drugs attached to it, starts growing out of the ground(where I had placed the food earlier).

...

Why?!

There used to be a signature here, a really cool one...and now it's gone.

Behold, I just happen to be a lisenced Dream interpreter!

The cat: A person in need. You are a helper at heart, compassionate, caring and ultimately a lover.

The drugs: Cats are like an addiction to you, you couldnt resist helping them if you tried. They are your weakness but supporr your strength as an individual.

The plant/plants: You are subconsciously on a mission to help others. The origin roots deeply within your childhood, meaning you have had this kind heart for many years - nothing can uproot this devotion in you.

Oh! I had a cat related dream too last night - I dreamed that I had a lion summon who regularly switched through the cycle of life, so I'd have a tiny cuddly wee lion cub who'd grow into playful young lioness and then mighty mean old lioness and then cuddly cub again.  :cat:

I can do my own dream interpretation though, which would be -- I play too many videogames.

I don't remember dreams very often these days. Used to remember one every night and in fine detail. Now even if I remember I dreamed I rarely recall such details, just the overall concept. All my dreams are always in very vivid color. I remember my father saying his dreams were always black and white (except occasionally one single object in the dream might have a single color shade) and I had a hard time envisioning that.

Interesting to see this thread however, since last night, I had my very first true visual nightmare. It was basically torture porn but with a voodoo-zombie/Borg aspect. Strangely despite the imagery/what was being done to "me", it didn't feel frightening and at some point I knew I was dreaming - I told myself to wake up but I was so sleepy I couldn't be bothered and kept letting the dream run further ... until one "scene" was finally bad enough it made my head actually hurt so I finally opened my eyes. Now I'm sleepy from only 2 hrs of sleep.

I say it was my first because usually my "nightmares" are just strange/bizarre or emotionally traumatic vs. horrific, if that makes sense. I hope I don't start having these types of dreams a lot, I much prefer my typical dreaming. >.>

Those that grew up with black and white televisions tended to dream in black and white, I can't imagine what dreams will be like in fifty years. Humans also remember dreams only if they wake up in the middle of the dream.

Silly humans.

I had to get a whole bunch of tests for some stomach issues I was having a while back and lately my stomach has started to feel off again so that's been on my mind.

Anyways, I had a dream a bunch of doctors, nurses, and whatnot were running even more tests on me but they had to stop because I had too much radiation from all the scans and barium and some new experimental thingamajig. Later on that night I was sleeping in my bedroom upstairs and I heard a scream from downstairs in the kitchen, my wife was at the table doing homework or work work or something and there was a huge spider running across the floor. I grabbed something to take it outside and just as I stepped out of the door it jumped up towards my face and mouthy areas and I somehow bit it. This miraculously turned it into Man-Spider and it turned around and bit me back and then I turned into Man-Spider-Man.

Nope, I was still like Spider-Man. Same amount of spider but twice the amount of man. Even in my dream I knew that made no sense.

Also, while I've always liked The Fly, I thought the whole premise was sketchy because microorganisms.

Dreamed I was on a couch in a room that does not exist in my house watching a TV with one of my dogs that we euthanized last year.  He was talking to me and telling me something, but for the life of me I can't recall what.  A bit disturbing, hah.

Oh man, I regularly have dreams where I find new rooms in my house. I'm always like, hey, this is a great new space, how did I not notice it? Then I wake up and I have to figure out if that space really does exist in some way. Sometimes it actually helps, because it makes me realize I can reorganize an area and free up more space. But typically it just reminds me that having a wife, two kids, a mother-in-law, and a dog make for a crowded house.
