Majber Posted May 24, 2018 Posted May 24, 2018 Is anyone just waiting , not playing, for proper balance & polish for the game too? 1
Abbzug Posted May 24, 2018 Posted May 24, 2018 Not really, but then I did a few playthroughs of the first game over the years. I understand the argument, but for me knowing it'll be a better game months and years later just means I'll have more reason to revisit it if I want. 4
M4xw0lf Posted May 24, 2018 Posted May 24, 2018 I'm looking forward to the balancing changes, but that doesn't stop me from playing the hell out of the game in the meantime. 3
morhilane Posted May 24, 2018 Posted May 24, 2018 I did a playthrough (didn't do all the content though) and now I playing other stuff while talking about the game and waiting for the early June patch. Azarhal, Chanter and Keeper of Truth of the Obsidian Order of Eternity.
Anelikital Posted May 24, 2018 Posted May 24, 2018 I know i am friend, i noticed that as i get older i tend to do this more and more, i only play around in the very early parts of the game to try stuff out and then stop to wait for the first large patch. 1
JerekKruger Posted May 24, 2018 Posted May 24, 2018 Yeah I am. I played a few partial play-throughs and am now returning to PoE1 to play an import save and Tyranny (for the first time). I'll probably take another look at Deadfire when the Beast of Winter drops. 2
AWizardDidIt Posted May 24, 2018 Posted May 24, 2018 Balance (namely veteran and potd) tuning have kept me from committing to a long playthrough and finish the game however it hasn't stopped me from doing numerous start overs to try out different classes/characters and compositions.
Wormerine Posted May 24, 2018 Posted May 24, 2018 Did a full playthrough, and migrating to other stuff until it is patched once or twice. 1
rjshae Posted May 24, 2018 Posted May 24, 2018 Yes, I played just enough to get a taste of the game. Then I stopped and moved on to other things. At least until most of the major patches have been released. There's no point in trying to enjoy it yet if the goal posts are going to keep shifting. No big deal. 1 "It has just been discovered that research causes cancer in rats."
MortyTheGobbo Posted May 24, 2018 Posted May 24, 2018 I'll probably finish my first playthrough anyway, then wait for the patches before I start new ones. I don't want to risk some of the changes not applying retroactively.
Night Stalker Posted May 24, 2018 Posted May 24, 2018 I am waiting for at least a patch or two - the game needs both a balance patch as well as a delousing. For what's it's worth, the wait is actually helping me going through my backlog, so the wait is actually not that bad.
DaKatarn Posted May 24, 2018 Posted May 24, 2018 Is anyone just waiting , not playing, for proper balance & polish for the game too? Yeah Sir, I’m waiting for balance, POTD difficulty, polish, DLC and maybe more end-game content? So I will back in November 2018 ^^.
Stephen Unsworth-Mitchell Posted May 24, 2018 Posted May 24, 2018 I keep telling myself to wait but then I get bored and think it be fun play or they bring out something new like today I waiting to download start new game. I managed run on POE 1 and probably try run on tyranny after this rum dlc and bit of a play. All Obsidian fault adding things give me to many reason to play.
DaKatarn Posted May 24, 2018 Posted May 24, 2018 I keep telling myself to wait but then I get bored and think it be fun play or they bring out something new like today I waiting to download start new game. I managed run on POE 1 and probably try run on tyranny after this rum dlc and bit of a play. All Obsidian fault adding things give me to many reason to play. I run POE1 in POTD too ( white march 2 actually) ans after this run I try triple couronne achievment so I can wait for a perfecr Deadfire first run.
Stephen Unsworth-Mitchell Posted May 24, 2018 Posted May 24, 2018 DaKatarn I did perfect run of POE 1 for Deadfire. Did veteran as didn't want to jump from POTD run in POE 1 to POTD in deadfire. I keep playing deadfire. I will do POTD on both once deadfires balanced. I am hoping they balance deadfire maybe after we will get news of tyranny 2.
Mu Shu Fasa Posted May 24, 2018 Posted May 24, 2018 I did my first playthrough with the story characters to check out their dialogue/ interactions but I was able to do it on potd without ever breaking a sweat...that shouldn't be possible. Would love to see some balance changes to make the game challenging. In the first poe you had to make good builds and use non story characters for potd. Would love to see some of that here, the current difficulty level really hurts replayability imo.
XEternalXDreamsX Posted May 25, 2018 Posted May 25, 2018 I would love to play this now even with bugs and get the season pass but my laptop isn't great for gaming at all so I'll be waiting for the PS4 release. Hopefully, it will be polished by then. The first Pillars of Eternity complete edition that I preordered on PS4 was pretty much bug free on release.
Selky Posted May 25, 2018 Posted May 25, 2018 Replaying Deadfire seems like a waste of time until it's fully patched and all the DLC is released. I'd rather replay the first game and get save imports ready.
Night Stalker Posted May 25, 2018 Posted May 25, 2018 any words on when the next patch gon drop? Early June: The first large update for Deadfire will be launching in early June - Patch 1.1. This update contains hundreds of fixes and refinements based upon our internal testing and all the great feedback we have been getting.
vanyel54 Posted May 25, 2018 Posted May 25, 2018 Have to stop my current run. Blasting a poor dragon without a scratch was too much for me I'm going to do a solo while waiting for the patch 2
Sedrefilos Posted May 25, 2018 Posted May 25, 2018 Is anyone just waiting , not playing, for proper balance & polish for the game too? I play since day 1. No problem with them minor bugs and all.
xzar_monty Posted May 25, 2018 Posted May 25, 2018 Yeah. I've spent a total of less than ten minutes on the game so far. Will possibly try it after patch 1.1.
Ancelor Posted May 25, 2018 Posted May 25, 2018 I knew from the beginning that I’d have to wait. I only play this kind of games only once and I want it to be as balanced/polished as it can be. I was prepared for this. POE1 was a completely different game when it got out to the one I played, so this is to be expected here as well. Even more so with multi/sub classes involved.
