one o' these days, the freedom lovin' patriots who rail 'gainst government evils is gonna learn what it means to live in a democracy. what freedom lovin' patriot doesn't also want democracy? is one o' those core American fundamentals, no? heck, we s'posed had a revolution to achieve freedom and democracy... as if the two ain't actual antagonistic qualities. the people is the government. we democratic elect folks who then pass laws, laws which, by their very nature is limits 'pon your freedoms. complain 'bout evil government taking away our freedoms is silly w/o recognition o' underlying truth o' reality o' democracy. so yeah, the folks who would rather disassociate themselves from society, go off the grid and live in a shack in the woods, does indeed seem like the crazies. and trump can wail and howl 'bout games all day and night, but is sound and fury, just as virtual all such trump bluster. we noted during the election how virtual all stuff trump promised were gonna be requiring either an act o' Congress to achieve or even an Amendment to the Constitution. we also noted how trump's divisive nature meant Congress were gonna do as little as necessary as the chief executive is not a consensus builder. is a largely impotent President save for foreign affairs... which has always been what scared us most 'bout trump. sucks to be right. so let trump blather on 'bout games. thanks to democracy, trump blather is largely nothing more than noise... but never forget democracy and freedom is actual antagonistic. if a majority o' your neighbors believe your actions is bad, they can, collective, limit or end your freedoms. good. we are the government. we should be able, as a people, be able to limit gd's liberty to dump toxic waste or smoke in restaurants or drive while drunk. sure, we got the Constitution which offers greater protections for a smallish number o' particular freedoms, but such is a defense 'gainst democracy. the tyranny o' the majority is the evil from which the Constitution seeks to protect us. HA! Good Fun!

we got a problem with a ship's brig. sure, we had a dungeon in caed nua, so it would make sense to have a ship's brig. unfortunate, given the nautical and pirate elements o' deadfire, am thinking it would be criminal o' obsidian to fail in providing walk-the-plank and/or keelhaul alternatives to a brig... and sadly, am realizing how plank and keelhaul options would result in our brig being perpetual empty. why would we ever throw a scallywag in the brig when we could have 'em be keelhauled? perhaps eaten by sharks or some such after a long walk on a short plank? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_QtZHQ2WuBY *sigh* brig would be pointless. HA! Good Fun!

quirky aside, but being blue is 'bout as white as it gets. is an appalachian family (eastern kentucky) which has/had a genetic disorder resulting in blue skin. is a genetic recessive disorder, so it not take much to surmise why such a trait were so common in the fugate family. *shudder* the blueness has become rare as the family added more diversity to their gene pool. http://mentalfloss.com/article/66742/why-fugate-family-has-blue-skin you can find pictures o' a few fugate family members. coloring is indeed reminiscent o' violet beauregarde. HA! Good Fun!

Some wackiness going on in the bottom-left of that image. Either some kind of error or a very strange room next door. am suspecting we is looking down into the ship's hold and as such the narrow area beyond the doorway is existing as a raised gangway and/or catwalk. is no doubt an opening in the ceiling... but is odd one would need an actual door if such is the case. HA! Good Fun!

again with the wacky reading skills. "Random questions to black people" weird. HA! Good Fun! Hm, nah, he does want to ask people in general, he just chose a stupid topic for it. You are right though, in a way, had the thread been meant to be on point with the title, you'd still end up with non-black people chiming in serious, what is with the reading skillz? if he wanted everybody input, then the following would make no sense and be utter unnecessary: "If you are from some other underrepresented country, skin color or whatever I would be interested in an answer too." asking "everybody" to get black input? sure. read again the questions asked. simple inclusion o' "everybody" didn't change what a normal person would/should read. "Random questions to black people." 'stead of reading "everybody" in context o' the post's entirety, some folks is doing the reverse and trying to complete change the meaning o' the post to fit how they is reading a single word. is complete bass ackwards. read 4-corners as a whole to find meaning is essential to any kinda reading comprehension. *shrug* gonna ruin the genesis poster's thread with such nonsense, and as such am apologizing, but really folks. HA! Good Fun!

Valians are awesome and so are Ciphers. So I think this is a fine problem to have. regardless o' their awesomeness, ciphers did receive the most extra class-specific dialogues in poe. thus there were/is a practical reason for choosing cipher. 'course obsidian admitted a few cipher dialogues were mistakes due in part to a misunderstanding resulting from numerous poe writers confusing cipher and watcher qualities. even so, an orlan cipher were benefiting from the bestest number o' additional poe dialogue options resulting from class and race choices. more isn't always better, but... HA! Good Fun!

what is it 'bout asking for input from blacks or women or minorities which inspires so many white guys to respond with their perspective on the topic? is not a bad thing to respond, but seeming need for input is still kinda weird. "could any astronauts share their thoughts on what it is like to... " have plumbers and cpa respond to such ain't bad, but is nevertheless weird. HA! Good Fun!

in poe it were ez to decide initial choices: priest and paladin. there were distinct advantages playing as a pc priest or paladin compared to a hireling or companion. pc faith and conviction bonuses as well as holy radiance bonuses were substantial. am personal favoring support characters as they tend to be the most valuable in a party even if they is least popular. priests ended up being an extreme powerful all-round class choice in poe, combining typical invaluable support qualities as well as strong offensive spellcasting choices and potent, if limited, weapon potential. poe paladins were arguable the bestest tank option. for deadfire, paladin is current 'mongst the class o' the classes. paladin or paladin/anything is gonna be a strong choice. so, templar is an obvious Gromnir option. the thing is, with faith and Faith being so central to poe, we had expectations for more priest-specific content. those expectations went unfulfilled. sure, obsidian insisted faith were not quite as central to poe as some would suggest, but such protests were hardly convincing. to have priests receive so little additional poe content were disappointing given how vital were faith. nevertheless, we will be carrying over a priest from poe in some form. got a colossal god-possessed statue stalking the land after having consumed at least a portion o' the protagonist's soul. would bet we are again setting our self up for disappointment, but am having a hard time not choosing a priest or priest/something for deadfire. templar or contemplative is our likely first run choices, for reasons stated already. HA! Good Fun!

My wife and daughter will tell you they are dealing with all of their hair. women is odd 'bout hair. our hair were long 'til we near got our neck broken in high school when we were tackled by hair playing football. cut hair short the next day and have never gotten anywhere near true long since then. even so, long hair does require an extra minute (or two if is extreme long as were Gromnir's) but don't buy the double-x chromosome nonsense 'bout shower time. our hair were middle-of-back long and we were working construction, doing ranch jobs, or playing sports so as to be dealing with maximum filth hair cleaning. long hair added a mere two minute max (which %wise were a significant increase) to our total shower times. have been told by women how shaving legs ('n stuff) requires considerable time as well, but is no excuse for having the water running the entire time during such. HA! Good Fun! -
if you are maxing engagement, is worth considering a shield bearer votary. there is a powha for the monk which reflects disengagement attacks: blade turning. disengagement attacks get a serious damage boost, so if you manage to engage five targets, then purposeful disengage after activating blade turning, the foes pretty much kill each other. clarity o' agony, soul mirror and other monk powhaz is also fantastic tanky abilities, but blade turning is potential exploitive at the moment. HA! Good Fun! ps clarification: blade turning affects all melee attacks, including disengagement. we weren't clear.

Gromnir did. is the point. So you're answering my post and try to argue about something I didn't even talk about? Like *zoom* right over my head? Slick lordy. is genuine tough to tell if you is this obtuse or is acting for effect. stubborn horse is gonna die o' thirst 'fore we can get him to see the water at his hooves, eh? you did indeed "talk about"/question/mock the genesis poster's approbation. is Gromnir who observed how pointless were such a critique given the complete subjectivity o' the genesis poster's praise. duh. subjectivity were an essential quality from the start and there never were a question as to who first mentioned subjectivity. but as is usual, we have hit fatigue point trying to illuminate what should be obvious. will once again leave you at the edge o' the water. HA! Good Fun!

pallegina is actual one o' the characters am seeing most difficult to easily slip into deadfire as her endings were resulting in her having significant variation in her standing and relationship with a key player in the deadfire: the vallian trading company. is difficult to envision pallegina as a static or fixed quantity, which is kinda what she needs be at the start o' deadfire. the other characters, other than devil, is requiring only a bit o' imagination or creativity to get 'em into deadfire in such a way as is plausible, but pallegina, while having good reason to be involved in a story involving the vtc as a major player, is gonna be the character am most concerned. no plausible reason to be in deadfire is hardly a significant hurdle to a decent writer, particular in a fantasy story where the implausible is ordinary. converse, pallegina has history and baggage, and her relevant history and baggage is gonna be different depending on how a player concluded her poe companion quest. in addition to the fact we did not like how pallegina were written, she appears to be one o' the more difficult poe companions to integrate into deadfire. sure, the obsidian folks could functional ignore the poe endings for pallegina, but such would be a rather unsatisfactory starting point, no? HA! Good Fun!

have been doing navy showers since we were a sprout. a long hot shower, particular during winter months, were a costly extravagance for us as a child. even now, no hollywood showers save when on vacation or business trips... and perhaps when enjoying lady company. ... am admitting we do enjoy long showers, even if we do so infrequent. 'course, turn a long and relaxing shower indulgence into more work or internet time strikes us as quirky and counterintuitive at best. then again, am equal puzzled by folks who put widescreen tv in their bathroom. HA! Good Fun! -
ah, 'cause "absolutely" makes it less subjective. gotcha. HA! Good Fun! Nice. High Five! But who argued about subjectivity anyway? Gromnir did. is the point. *zoom* right over your head. is also odd to both claim to be making a funny And defend. self-contradiction is kinda the norm though. genesis poster makes a subjective observation o' approval: he likes the pie. boereor focuses on an adverb? the genesis poster said he really likes the pie. the really bit is what makes it weird. you not wanting to draw attention to subjectivity o' the genesis poster's approval is understandable, but utter misses the point. real question is whether cheesecake is a cake or a pie. cheesecake typical has a crust, but for all intents and purposes, it uses an egg-leavening batter. HA! Good Fun!

removing the paladin malus were a mistake. am not suggesting it is bad to have paladins who do not suffer a limiting drawback, but the thing is, the paladin boons were seeming balanced 'gainst the malus. give up auras would be a serious handicap for a goldpact knight, but the armour bonus is also strong. kindwayfarer bonus, on the other hand, while a nice little free heal, particular at lower levels, isn't in the same class as the goldpact bonus. sure, there is rp reasons for choosing kindwayfarer over goldpact, and there is a handful o' builds which would still have Gromnir choose kindwayfarer instead o' goldpact, but in general, choose kindwayfarer or darcozzi paladini is a bit underwhelming. paladins were a strong choice for single class or multi-class when they all suffered malus. the paladin orders were also relative balanced, if imperfectly so. remove malus made an already powerful class even stronger and made it so a couple paladin orders now appear to be clear wins relative to the remaining orders. as such, the obsidian choice to remove the paladin malus were... odd. removal did not appear to address a gameplay or balance need, and the removal actual introduced a class imbalance which did not exist previous. however, is oldish kinda news. HA! Good Fun!

as we reflect a bit, am thinking the beta is a bad test for tanks. the poe beta punished tanks. the cave bears and beetles were making a mockery o' high deflection and high dr. weren't long after the release o' poe 'fore we got serious tank nerfs. is complete opposite for deadfire beta with almost no foes genuine capable o' hurting a paladin or paladin/anything with defense as a primary or even secondary goal during level-ups. am suspecting we got only a vague notion as to how tanky we need make tanks for deadfire. HA! Good Fun!

or, while he believes the "casting system," problems is noteworthy, for him/her, such problems is not significant enough to serious detract from an otherwise "epic" game. does genesis poster otherwise enjoy tactical combat and character development choices, and dialogue checks and aesthetics and ship mini game and _____ and ______, and whatever such that casting system is an otherwise minor blip in an "epic" game? or... whatever. best not to project. am personal not even knowing what is meant by casting system, and am not knowing what it takes to be 'epic, neither. is the "casting system" a reference to vancian v. deadfire's take on per encounter? something else? lengthier relative casting times + interrupt/concentration + retarget features, etc. as what is meant by "casting system"? both. neither. am sure not gonna get all judgey and preachy particular w/o knowing what is intended. even then we wouldn't get all judgey and preachy as this is one o' those pure subjective, "i like pie" posts. am sure not gonna try and convince somebody they do not like the pie... even if cake is objective better. HA! Good Fun! ps 'cause is the kinda thing we actual need say on this board, the cake bit were joking. although cake is superior.

Well, she looks like she is at the very least. complete agree. is as if obsidian reached into our brain and discovered our two most favorite things in the whole world: goth cosplay and elves. ... on the positive side, am having found an early frontrunner for ritualistic sacrifice if such is available in deadfire as were the case in poe. HA! Good Fun!
