Spoil me rotten... what was the "best" ending??? I thought there were only the endings. Never even touched the multiplayer button in the game As for the other games mentioned, didn't buy DA:I, got JE since about a year ago on my Steam account and never touched it other than to check that it actually booted. Kotor... I liked the game up until I got forced to change class from my beloved scoundrel character, ME1 I liked for the combat (because i played ME2 first and ME1's combat was vastly superior), ME2 I liked for the companions and the companion stories (even though I think German Public Transportation could take lessons in how to create proper linearity) and ME3 was a very mixed bag with some high highs and some low lows (still debating whether K** L*** or the ending was the main detractor). Edit: ME4... it will depend on the feedback the game gets from some of the locals (who shall remain unnamed) on these forums.

Being underground was part of the charm of Rogue and its likes. But I'm an old Nethack fan, so I'm probably biased. Being a claustrophobic dwarf would probably suck though. In a bird with vertigo kind of way But then evolution came up with the ostrich. Just rambling.

I wonder how Fox News is going to pin that one on Obama...

Waiting for the J.E. Sawyer version of chess where the black pawns gets more aoe damage. Of course, they could also decide that the best way to play chess would as a real time with pause game, no unfair advantages and no discrimination of board pieces just based on their colours On topic... finally got around to start a few games of Pillars of Eternity this weekend, now in that painful stage of trying to make up my mind regarding class and build before progressing too much (which means, create character, play a bit, delete, start over... repeat a lot)

Oh, i know that feeling. You can eat, walk and carry, but your mind isn't really there and you end up with that thousand yard-stare. All the senses feel slightly numb and you cannot really think of anything. Yuck. Even stranger is that feeling of being fully awake and active, even energetic and in a fraction of a second you are either walking into a door frame or your head hits your keyboard because your brain "disconnected" without any further notice, trying to force you to sleep During normal times, I get by with 5-6 hours of sleep. I should probably try to get 1 more on average, but meh, old age and all that. Crunch times gets harder and harder to recuperate from, especially when going for many weeks on 3-4 hours sleep only interrupted by all nighters (after which 4 hours of sleep feels like luxury, just closing your eyes... just for a moment... please?...) I don't eat a lot before going to sleep, but i love ending the day with a large mug of coffee before passing out.

if I'm not mistaken, Feargus once went on record saying Obsidian burned through roughly 1 million USD each month. so, 4 million would only fund 4 months of development. everything else had to come out of their own pockets. I imagine this is why they have partnered up with Paradox, they need all the extra money they can get to keep the studio opened You need to get the proper context... That is 1 million dollars a month in operating costs for the company. That's everything added together, most likely including things like the South Park and the Tanks project at the time. The Kickstarter money got earmarked for the PoE project. Paradox didn't "invest" in Obsidian, but offered their distribution channels and help fulfilling backer rewards in return for a small slice of the cake. In Paradox Boss' own words, they didn't make a lot of money from it, it just as much a prestige thing for them (and guesswork from my side, paving the way for more future cooperation). I would be surprised if there ever was more than 20 people working simultaneously on PoE making it a "miniscule" project as such things go.

Yeah, I know the feeling. I had a Dutch colleague in Australia that would sometimes speak to me in dutch when he was tired and focus started slipping. A weird and alien language indeed Speaking 3 languages and understanding most of a 4th, I do sometimes mix up sentences or use a sentence construct from one language and substitute individual words with the language of whoever I'm talking to, much to their amusement. Funny trivia, when counting, I count mentally in my native language. Being a rather visual person, I don't think i actually "think" in any of those languages, more in images, sounds, smells, concepts showing for my inner eye/senses so to speak.

why do people on this forum hate swtor
Gorth replied to pvs0101's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Didn't vote since i used to love the game. Played it a lot for 2 years until the latest expansion. I wouldn't say it was the Revan story that killed it for me, as that is only half the truth (never liked the character itself or the story related to him), it was more the change to game mechanics, classes and end game content that felt like the game shot itself in its foot with a high powered assault weapon. Dind't hate the discipline system as that just removed the illusion of choice (a choice is really only a choice when choosing between valid options). It was the changes to abilities, the awkward and unintuitive rotations, the heavy handed removal of iconic abilities, the shoehorning in of new abilities that has no history or relation to the classes, the class balance that was the worst since 1.2, the very fact that you paid $20 real world money to have access to less content at end game (trust me, it's not a joke) and so on and so on. Adding Revan was just the proverbial icing on the cake to make interest plummet. Edit: I suppose bugs should get the honorable mention. 3.0 has so many bugs that Kotor2 appears like a well polished masterpiece by comparison -
Sort of. Problem is just, most people don't care and would rather let the running of a country be done by somebody else. Always easier to criticize than to participate actively Being an old Cynic, my only contribution to conspiracy theories (as far as i know) is, the world is run by those who control the contemporary media and by extension form the public opinion of the masses.

Sounds better than *modern oligarchies* anyway. The only thing correct in the original post seems to be the fact that Socrates is dead and the Athenians are credited for that. The rest is mostly a number of traits rewritten with a lot of artistic freedom from his original description of oligarchy as a form of government.

I'm sure that if the kickstarter had given them a few billion dollars more they could have invested more in the QA process (since they seem to be the scope you want to compare it to). -

That reminds me a bit of whatsitsname that old movie, Minority Report? Where crime could be predicted. Now we just need to enforce surgery and incarceration of people where statistics say they are genetically disposed towards crime (and/or genetic diseases)- 488 replies
