Master of Orion remake?
It's possible that the games is good, but I read as far as "You will design custom spaceships and deploy them into real-time battles" and stopped reading. I dislike "RTS" games passionately.

Master of Orion remake?
For this type of game, gameplay and mechanics is everything. Need actual info and gameplay videos before having an opinion. Good to see interest in the game isn't dead though (Space Rangers 2 was the closest I ever got to scratching this paticular itch while waiting for a real MoO3 to be made in some Utopian future)

MUST READ: How to Report an Issue
I'm going to take the liberty of adding a bit of extra info to this thread... Just a heads up that the Report button on cRichards post does not send a report with your issue descriptions to a developer. It sends the moderating team a message, the developers never seeing it. Since this thread is locked, the normal Reply button isn't there. The thing to do is to create a New Topic in this section and then post your report there

Numerous FIFA officials arrested
Blatter chose the right strategy, rather than the exorbitant sums needed to buy the superpowers, he just bought all the smaller and cheaper votes. Besides, all it takes is for him to call his old friend Putin and people starts to mysteriously suffer from radiation poisoning symptoms

For all 40K fans, check this out
Never seen that before. Might have to catch up on what its about later today, thanks for the heads up

Everything's Great - An anti-whinge Part 1
Whereas I have the opposite reaction: I don't generally like Pixar's style of animation, and I tend to much prefer Disney's. Give me Frozen or Tangled over Toy Story or Monsters Inc. or the Incredibles, etc., any day. Although I am willing to admit that characters do sometimes look odd in Frozen: I think Elsa looks really weird at the end of that YouTube clip, for example. Still, I prefer it over Pixar's animation. I stand corrected, I had for some reason mentally attributed a handful Dreamworks animations (Shrek, Madagascar etc.) to Pixar. Finding Nemo is one of my all time favourite stories though

Everything's Great - An anti-whinge Part 1
I just watched that "Frozen" youtube clip. The technology makes it look like a Pixar movie, but something is missing. I swear, it feels like Luxo Jr. has more soul and personality than that blonde girl.

Build Thread 2.0
Yeah, I'm dying to run nethack on max settings!!! No, you are right. If it was just a gaming machine it would be overkill, but I do use my desktop pc for other purposes (3D modelling/rendering/animation etc., all stuff that loves as many cores and as much memory as possible)

Build Thread 2.0
My system is becoming quite unstable under load. Sadly I lack the skills to pinpoint exactly which part is the culprit. Drivers will cause BSOD's with different messages, although the most common is 'Power Failure'. Which I "guess" leaves me with either the PSU or the Motherboard as the most likely culprits. It could also be the Gfx card draining too much power of course (despite having two dedicated 8 pin cables from the PSU). Seriously considering upgrading parts of my old system as Im tired of only having 12Mb RAM at the moment anyway. Got my eyes on a new MB, CPU and Memory (which may of course not solve my original problem at all, but at least i can then rule out those 3 components) Would probably also help with a new MB that I can remove the old PCI cards for Soundblaster, SATA3 and USB3 controllers.

Dragon Age: Inquisition
It doesn't take faith/theology for people to disagree on things. Bohr/Einstein debates Some of the greatest scientific minds of the previous century disagreed on a lot of things. Facts may be facts, but how you interpret fact can still differ a lot between individuals.

Numerous FIFA officials arrested
It seems to be a combination of charges but the Americans want them on the 2018 and 2022 world cup corruption charges http://edition.cnn.com/2015/05/27/football/fifa-corruption-charges-justice-department/?section=money_news_international Bruce... read the stuff you link to

Numerous FIFA officials arrested
Just pointing out that the arrests have nothing to do with the 2018 and 2022 World Cups. They are charges related to bribes taken during the 1990's and 2000's That being said, World Cup in Qatar... seriously? Nobody can convince me that something didn't happen in the corridors when that deal was made.

New Scientific Discoveries, Part Deux
Reminds me of the old US and Soviet high altitude nuclear tests. I seem to remember reading somewhere that the first trial took people by surprise with how powerful the EMP effect was and further testing was banned by treaty in 1967.

Irish set to legalize same-sex marriage
My skin is white (blame it on my nordic heritage). I don't really consider myself a "mutant" even though white skin is a mutation (we were originally all dark skinned). The only special powers it gives me is the ability to turn bright pink if exposed to excess sunlight. Need to work up tan first. It just turned out to be a benefit for our ancestors when they migrated away from the warmer equatorial climates and resulted in a new stable combination. On a side note, Biology was always a passion of mine and something i would have pursued a career in, if I hadn't gotten distracted by software development as a teenager Peoples sexuality is interesting the same way as a test result in a petri dish is. Not good, not bad, just interesting, trying to work out the whys and wherefores. I feel sorry for people who can't accept other peoples preferences with a certain detachment, or worse, gets their panties in a knot about it.

Irish set to legalize same-sex marriage
Everytime someone tells me to work on my politically correctness, I'll go watch a Russ Meyer movie.

Irish set to legalize same-sex marriage
Mate, grab a biology book. We can call it many things and none of them correct. mutation /mjuːˈteɪʃ(ə)n/ "the changing of the structure of a gene, resulting in a variant form which may be transmitted to subsequent generations, caused by the alteration of single base units in DNA, or the deletion, insertion, or rearrangement of larger sections of genes or chromosomes." Its how evolution works, trying out new strategies, sometimes resulting in stable new combinations, sometimes not. Humans are the result of a long series of mutations.

Things that make you happy
A weird inconsistent mix of things... Seeing new places Observing other people having that "Eureka!" moment when they realise something Russ Meyer movies Watching live performances (bands, theater, dance shows etc.) Cats Spending time with positive people every now and then (apropos Raithe's "Dr. Carmellas guide to introverts" post a while back) Almost the opposite of the above, getting away from people when I need to relax and recover my wits. Nice weather (the part of the world where i grew up has a notorious lack thereof, so it sort of stuck with me to really appreciate it when it isn't bad) Edit: I thought about adding 'Coffee', but to be honest, coffee doesn't make me happy. Not having coffee makes me unhappy. Subtle but important difference.

Everything's Great - An anti-whinge Part 1
"We won't use this data we've collected and stored on you without your consent to do anything wrong, we promise!" One of my favourite quotes... "The Central Intelligence Agency is committed to protecting your privacy and will collect no personal information about you unless you choose to provide that information to us. " CIA's privacy notice I know, that was the CIA, not the NSA. It just struck me as funny somehow. I'm easily amused sometimes.

Everything's Great - An anti-whinge Part 1
Should I only care about the curbing of civil liberties once they have directly effected me? I still remember those government paid posters being everywhere, railroad stations, bus stops etc. encouraging people to watch each other carefully and report any unusual behavior. Yes, that was in Australia.

Everything's Great - An anti-whinge Part 1
Haven't read the entire thread yet, but thought this was worth quoting to show support for that particular message Only real challenge is, when you get older it gets a bit harder every time you want to try new challenges in new places. So many countries to go, so many people to meet yet...

Irish set to legalize same-sex marriage
Ants have proven to be quite successful with the upbringing of offspring, despite not being raised by their biological parents On a more serious note, I simply regard homosexuality as one of many mutations (like red hair, white skin, a 6th toe, high IQ, whatever) that evolution applies to test new approaches to life. If it turns out to provide advantages, the gene will become dominant over time, if the disadvantages are greater than the advantages, it will not become a successful branch and will either become extinct or reduced to insignificance.

I wonder if blood transfusions would be the new Jedi "doping" technique? Watch this space for the annual Jedi games on Coruscant. Powerlifting, Rock throwing, fastest 3000m while levitating...
