  1. I'd probably fit the disappointed category. Oh wait, that's not what we are doing here? I'm really not interested in killing anybody, don't worry!
  2. Prince is on Twitter, which almost made me feel like I should join just so I can follow him. He also still sounds awesome. http://youtu.be/PpgpxJ7qodA
  3. Yeah I hated the guy in my camp who told me all about this important quest, and then asked for my credit card number. But thankfully Bioware hasn't repeated that type of DLC store since.
  4. It would probably be a lot more forgivable for us to monitor veterans closely if we were doing a better job dishing out VA benefits. There is no excuse for the huge backlog.
  5. Heh, see I backed SRR at $15 and didn't have huge expectations from a guy with a PnP background a license that was last used for a terrible FPS deathmatch game. So needless to say I was blown away. Now if Project Eternity comes out and lasts a dozen hours and has no save system, I'll probably be a bit upset that I put in a good chunk of money
  6. You can do both, the modmaker decides that. For my adventure I had players use a pregenerated low level character, but I've played a couple others and typically they've let me import my character from the base game. Playing mods is super easy, you just subscribe to it on the Steam Workshop, load up the game, and choose the mod from the other content screen.
  7. I'm positive Volourn did not play it It's the best game of the year for me. I had a blast through the entire campaign, which I was sad to see end. But then I jumped in the editor and put together my own adventure, and last night I played a really impressive mod called Life on a Limb that is based on one of the Shadowrun novels. I've put 60+ hours into this game already.
  8. Yeah I've been somewhat surprised by the fairly muted interest in Shadowrun. It isn't very often we get game that not only captures the charm of the PnP version, but gives gamers the tools to GM their own adventures.
  9. Ducktales has been remastered and is on Steam! I want it! I vaguely remember the game as a kid, but I loved the show.
  10. I don't have a camera on my phone. Unless I borrow someone's camera and put it on top of my phone, that is. I'm now convinced this is the phone Amentep owns. We had one of these in my Grandparents house.
  11. What would you suggest instead? I suggest we elect a less corrupt and overreaching one. We would probably need to write one in on the ballot to get that.
  12. I never played Max Payne, but SR3 runs better on my laptop than it did on my PS3. GTA4, on the other hand, was a piece of junk compared to when I played it on my xbox.
  13. Elysium - I enjoyed it a lot. Matt Damon was not a complete hero in the film, which surprised me. He is still the good guy, but not a white cape type. Overall it was a fun film to look at and it moved at a good pace.
  14. Yeah, they haven't proven they can make their games run well on the PC, particularly compared to how games like Saint's Row and Just Cause run.
  15. The (three dozen) kids actually listen to me, and I can send them packing after 55 minutes It was pretty funny trying to work with my 6 year old on reading this summer. She is convinced we don't know what we are talking about. She loves to say that's not how her kindergarten teacher does it. I've lost my cool more than a few times, I have no idea how people do homeschooling.
  16. Happy Birthday Malc! I'm back at work today. I don't have to report until tomorrow, but I wanted to get some stuff done in the classroom. I also needed a day off from taking care of the kids, as bad as that sounds I plan on cutting out early and going to see Elysium.
  17. Well the report is saying they record 1.6% and file it away, then tag 0.025% of that for review. I doubt they can actually store every email sent, that would be a massive amount of data just in one day. The annoyed bureaucrat would also be exposing themselves to some risk here, because in order to act on any information they are going to need to bring more people into the loop, and that means more complications to the witch hunt.
  18. I don't think it is harmless or good for me, I think it is a completely ineffective way of spying on people. I simply don't think the NSA is efficient enough to sift through all these haystacks and find the proverbial needles. And if they started to target a regular schmuck like me, they are just going to look ridiculous. We just aren't that close to a big brother scenario here. That is clear by the lambasting the NSA is receiving in the media. This is the worst thing possible for a supposed spy agency. They don't want to be in the public eye. This is drifting from the point a bit, but think about how easy it is to go public with stuff nowadays. You can upload a cell phone video to youtube in seconds. Government conspiracies and coverups are a nightmare to pull off today. A Watergate scenario would end up pasted across every website in the world in a matter of minutes. I don't have faith in politicians. As a whole they seem to be petty and power hungry. But that's the beauty of the system. If all the politicians started to agree on everything and act as a single entity, I'd be terrified.
  19. That's tough GD, but I hope he can look back on those two years with no regrets, not many people get to even play at that level. In 20 years he probably won't regret getting a bit of a late start on adulthood. Also the military is still a great way to help pay for an education if he wants that.
  20. Looks like a beautiful place to hike!
  21. I played Skyrim for 5 minutes, realized I was bored to death, and then I noticed I had a new card in my inventory. It must have been special, because I sold it for 25 cents. Made me feel a bit better about that 5 minutes.
  22. It's a cool idea, but I really hope they send people qualified both in the engineering and technical elements of living in space, and in the role of building a community. If they send a bunch of weirdos who don't fit in on earth, it's going to go badly.
  23. The whole idea that there is some sort of homosexual propaganda machine is as silly as it sounds. Does anyone believe that a child is going to see 'gay propaganda' and suddenly become gay? This isn't a political idea, it's a matter of personal identity. The entire point of the gay pride movement is that gay people should not have to hide that identity. This is a civil rights issue. It isn't a hip movement that the West is having a fancy with. It is the exact same thing as women's rights, desegregation, even religious freedom has the same story. Countries are slowly creating a more tolerant society, and Russia is way behind in this. In 100 years we aren't going to look back and say it was great that Russia discriminated against gay people. It will look as terrible as every other act of discrimination and intolerance that has happened in history.
  24. I was pretty sore the first time I bought a game on Steam and then it made me log into Uplay to play it. I still avoid those games if I can.
  25. The same difference between Muhammad and The Messenger, I suppose. Jesus is a fairly common name, Messiah is a pretty tough expectation to grow up with!
