Platforms play a huge role in this popularization as well, GTA3 releasing on the PS2 and Xbox is a big reason it became dominant. Heck that's always been the real brilliance of Bethesda, they got Morrowind on the Xbox early and repeated that with Oblivion on the 360.

DA2 really rubbed me the wrong way, more than any Bioware game ever, so I get the concerns. But even then, once I pushed past the first act, I got into the flow and there were plenty of redeeming characteristics. Still, it definitely created some concerns that I've never had over Bioware games in the past.

It's all about franchises. It's tough for us to see, since most of us play a variety, but the majority of gamers stick to a few well known titles. If you are only planning on buying a couple games a year, you probably are just looking for what is comfortable and familiar.

TOR sold extremely well at release, so it was successful in that regard. But it bled subscribers, which meant the large team that was still in place to develop content after release had to be cut heavily. They basically had to reorganize to deal with that, and now they seem to be running well. They don't release numbers to see how profitable they are, but I doubt they are operating at a loss.

People claim SR's supposed zany-ness does, so who knows what people are measuring this stuff by SR is a remarkable piece of satire. The depth of the social commentary is very surprising for a video game.

That .gif is disturbing. I get the feeling they won't get anywhere near their goal, and will have to relaunch with a much clearer plan.

He's probably tired of the "it was all brilliant and then EA came and DESTROYED EVERYTHING" attitude. He's not the only one

Are you talking about Mutant League Football? It is mainly an Xbox title, if you read it carefully. I can understand your confusion, it's not a very clear kickstarter project plan.

For some reason I read that as Fifa 14, and then I excited to hear about dragoons in a soccer game. Alas, my interest was dimmed by a second reading.

This might actually get me to play Diablo 3 again, I lost interest rather quickly and I think the loot was part of that.

I do use the low sodium fat free broths most of the time, but I found this to a be pretty simple way to make a quick soup without needing to worry about things like fresh ginger and seasonings. It's probably too high in salt though, I don't imagine doing it regularly.

Mutant League Football is getting a kickstarter. It sounds pretty cool, but I'd much rather see Mutant League Hockey. I'm torn on this one, I'm also concerned about the team.

I forgot to mention that I bought this infused broth the other day: I cooked some peppers, carrots, and shrimp with it, and it was delicious. Very easy way to throw a soup together.

I'm waiting on GTA V as well, but mostly because I don't want to play it on my PS3. I'll probably get it on the PC if it comes out. Even then I'll wait for a sale. I've been playing a lot of Dishonored and loving it. The writing is great. Bethesda really needs to learn from Arkane and Obsidian about how to fill a game with good books and notes, instead of the deluge of boring libraries they put in the Elder Scrolls games.

Yep. Part of me doesn't want to put in the time or energy to try and patch up the relationship, but I'll talk it over with my wife and see how it goes. Bleh, not exciting.

I haven't been able to sell or rent PC games for over 20 years, retailers caught on to that one pretty quick where I live. I also haven't shared games since college, very few of my friends even play games anymore. Steam has vastly improved my gaming in the last couple years. They have better bargain bins than brick and mortar shops, I don't have to dig out CD's, and their offline mode actually works decently now so I can game on the road. Now they are offering to let me share my games with all my faraway friends? That sounds like a pure bonus.

I think LadyC should get a Harley and some leathers and join a biker gang. Also if she is going to get a sports car in the bay area, she needs to get a Tesla, they are the hot item nowadays. I've been estranged from my parents and sisters for a little over a year now, and my sister sent me a text yesterday. It read: "Hi Patrick, how r u? How r the kids? What is your favorite hockey team?" My first reaction was:

Facebook games that are actually interesting?

You can disable those notices. I have most game updates ignored on my account. -
Unless the poster isn't really buying the games, which simply means they place little value on their own time. We all use these forums to air our grievances, but there is a point where it is good to move on.

I played the Undead solo and was happy with them, so I'm sticking to it. And this game makes me feel like a wet behind the ears 12-year old

I'm reading that as well, Rothfuss is a pretty great writer.
