And no one is going to scroll down to see my superior ship name either...

The economy was rough in Dyrwood. The coastal nature of Deadfire makes it a far more lucrative hub of trade. I'd expect the funds to be less tight.

Ah yes, straight white cis affluent settler people. Because everyone can write them, but they can't write anyone else. Because that is the issue. Not that human beings suffer colossal deficiency of knowledge and inability to grapple with the world around them. Sure privilege exists, but using identity politics to dehumanize anyone who's identity correlates with privilege as being inherently incapable of understanding is a great way to form your rhetoric and semantics. Just in the freaks thread Micamo you claimed that sane people are incapable of writing insane people. It's like all you care about it elevating your own identity to a special place. I bet it feels really good to do so. It's probably the same high white supremacists feel when thinking about their own identity. -
Attributes are arbitrary in my mind. They aren't there to role-play, they are their to build the up the machinations that underly the game.

A lot of assumptions about writers, them being sane and ****ing up insane characters and more. Not only do I find tormented characters often do know something is wrong and do try to self-correct. Sometimes only holding themselves together by a thread. But there are also legitimate human qualities that give way to qualities of reveling in one's own madness or in one's own mind that justify that other character type. Sociopathy, narcissism, and qualities of ego as such, etc. I get you want a character that basically reflects yourself back in the mirror. But your complaint that characters when written somehow isn't coming from the writers own knowledge and experience but is instead simply a flawed attempted characterization some "proper" classification of a person type is just baffling. -

More Portraits
injurai replied to Greensleeve's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
Yes yes yes! I very much agree. I can get fiesty wanting more and better of everything. But I think stock portraits are an important thing to expand. Even though you only really end up using one out of the lot on each playthrough. Hopefully they carry over all the portraits from the last game just as they have done in BG2, which should help add even more choices. Allowing players to use custom portraits is cool, but I find I really enjoy the standardized art style. There are very few custom portraits that have the art style I'd want to use and even fewer to be found for a given race. Especially if you want an Orlan or Aumaua. -
Well, I might be wrong though. But I was under the impression that stronghold was in the game and they would give an update about it later on in the campaign + a possible stretch goal to enhance it. I think they just mean we will learn what the "stronghold" is come next update. Just how we got to learn about the city this time, and the cover art companions before that. The next stretch goal won't necessarily be related to the stronghold. Given everything we've heard, the next goal is the 8th companion.
