  1. I thought it was basically for any "zone" the buildings within it wouldn't break out into a load to transition. Which basically means the whole thing is loaded, then they just change what gets drawn on screen.
  2. Checks out. Say, wonder why there hasn't been a Japanese localization goal. Maybe that should get tacked onto 5mil.
  3. I hope with each one they need us less and less to back. Though I'd be happy that they continue to use the backer system because it not only improves the game to helps Obsidian get out from living from publisher to publisher. If they could start fully self-publishing one day that would be fantastic.
  4. Didn't they say something about removing loads from exterior <-> interior transitions?
  5. Josh is a better game designer than you, deal with it. He wants to design a game not write a lore pack for dnd.
  6. Some talking swords can get really dirty when used. "Yes, yes... grab my handle... feel it. Now put them forward... harder....harder... i want all that moisty flesh..." That opens all new kind of dungeon. Like a flesh dungeon. We get swallowed by a whale and find a sword that has been logged in it's innards. From prolonged presence in a living creature it has become accustomed to the taste of flesh, it's proper sheath, for which it hungers to return to.
  7. Problem, though: That means I'd have a full suit of end-game superior, legendary, and max-level soulbound gear on. Kinda game-breaking. The twist is all of it is broken, and you can't use it until you have a run in with Eothas midway through the game. Hmm? Problem solved.
  8. I don't think we will be using ship content all the time, it will be intermittent and passive like the stronghold. But if you did keep Ydwin in your party any individual literally would be using them all the time.
  9. It would be neat if you loose your stash but keep everything on your back (with the addition of backer items from the first game.) Course this means you could lose stuff you weren't using, but it's a neat trade-off with narrative imperative.
  10. Hopefully all these language options allow them to make more from post-release sales. I feel basically the hardcore fans put up all the money upfront but aren't really around after release. So getting exposure to more markets is important to keep this series rolling. Kind of agree. But Ydwin is the ultimate carrot on the stick right now.
  11. Are talking swords a fetish? I am not aware of such things. My virgin ears hear not disembodied voices.
  12. She does feel a little Deviant-Arty. All the same I like the central concept for the character - let's see how it progresses! To reach 5.0m they are going to have to tap new demographics. Hopefully their AMA tomorrow really helps.
  13. You can't hit your target if you can't see it. Luke Skywalker not withstanding.
  14. Sawyer is a little bit of an RPG snob/elitist. Over the years I've noticed a real tendency for him to look down on and subtly (or not so subtly) insult people who are real dedicated D&D enthusiasts. He seems to act as if being into obsure RPG systems means he's more knowledgable and a superior gamer. He's basically a pen&paper hipster. Some of us like that though.
  15. If we get katanas, I will riot. Those are never viable weapons. Hmmph.
