Update #82: Creatures

Dont think so, they just dont find them, I playing it now and I often notice that if I put someone to sleep with my 'non-leathal' sniper rife and some guard stumple upton victim before I am able to drag him out, he wakes him up and start alarm

If you will have time ask about Ondra deity and her/his godlike appearance please I know its quite minor thing but I am quite interested it that particular one

4th ed did help to customise characters with INT and CHA for melee characters and are useful for different builds now. eg. Swordmage (INT), Rogue (CHA), .. And there are a lot of builds now that use CHA as one of your two primary stats. Yep, currently playing one on Realms of Trinity NWN2 server: perfect two weapon fighting + epic divine might + level 9 divine spellcasting -paladin(5)\favored soul(5)\mystic knight(10)\ hospitaller(10) - charisma, dexterity and strength are main attributes, charisma are primary attribute for FS spellcasting, paladin abilities and solid EDM melee damage, I wish I could take a bard levels - to have its "snowflake wardance" that adds charisma bonus to attack. Also gonna try to build melee wizard\swashbuckler\swiftblade which will have its melee prowess coming from the high intelligent. Correct me if I'm wrong, but NWN2 is not even 4th edition... I am truly sorry, but that just sounds utterly, freaking, terrible. But why? The character is pretty powerfull both melee and spellcasting wise, nice saving throws and overal defense, 10 attacks a round with dual holy avenger scimitars. And it's a Yuan-ti Pureblood, so very high magic resistance, blind fight and some other goodies. Because its mishmash of everything powerfull to make powergaming gimmic character which have no roots in any culture or realm of reason

Update #82: Creatures
Chilloutman replied to BAdler's topic in Pillars of Eternity: Announcements & News
Nice update, even thou I would like to know more deeper lore on those creatures. On the outrage on no blue ray for documentary. there were 2 options for Obs: 1) blue-ray finished 2 months before shiping game - so most exciting part of process and happy faces in office would be excluded 2) no blue ray with all that jazz in final stage of shipping You guys have to realise that printing, burning and SHIPPING cost would be DOUBLED if they want to make it after final stage of development- 151 replies

Baldur's Gate 3?
Chilloutman replied to projectx's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
Fallout: New Vegas was imho the closest thing to original Fallouts (and Van Buren) that you can get, it had that feel, while Fallout 3 was just a money-making-machine. For me NV *is* number 3. Although in Fallout franchise it is easier to make a new story not related to the previous protagonists - it usually makes sense. A hypothetical Baldur's Gate 3 would be equally silly if it was about the same Charname Bhaalspawn (a demigod who fought for the Throne of Bhaal, ffs) or if it was about a brand new character. Well, maybe a son/daughter of Imoen perhaps.... NO, totally not. I cant agree, while NV was definetelly better than original F3, it feel too much over the top for me. Almost all characters where not much belivable and caricaturesque -
Baldur's Gate 3?
Chilloutman replied to projectx's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
Well, not quite same, Fallout is universe where can be 10+ stories told, but not by Bethe$da. BG is not Forgotten realms -
Another good example is Civilisation, in civ 4 after 2 expansions we have espionage, religions etc. Then they introduce Civ5 and another 2 expansions which add religion and espionage. WTF? I was so disappointed when I bought it day 1

Yeah funny, well to each his own

Damage Type
Chilloutman replied to kronyth's topic in Pillars of Eternity: Stories (Spoiler Warning!)
1. Wands/rods/sceptres do pierce/crush, slash/crush, and crush/slash damage, respectively. What this means is that when a wand (for example) hits a target, it will do either pierce or crush damage depending on which DT on the target is weaker. Spells do a wide variety of damage, occasionally physical, but usually "elemental". 2. Other than wands, rods, and sceptres, ranged weapons only do pierce damage (assuming they are not enchanted). We decided not to implement bodkin/broadhead arrow types. Cloth has, overall, the worst DT. It's not especially vulnerable to pierce damage, but it has the worst DT overall. 3. You can add an enchantment of any damage type to any weapon. This can be the traditional flaming sword or adding crush damage to a stiletto if you really wanted to. 4. Raw damage bypasses all armor. It is very infrequently used and usually has a low damage value. Poison effects often use the raw damage type -- though many poison effects are often a secondary attack that is only made if the initial attack lands. Ehh sorry but Spells do a wide variety of damage, occasionally physical, but usually "elemental" this sounds strange, dont get me wrong but I hope it will not end up like in skyrim eg. flame/froms/lightning hands, flame/frost/lighting ball, flame/frost/lightning storm. How are covered spells like finger of death, disintegrate, magic missile, weil of banshee, symbol of death.. etc which are not associated with exact element? -
Location abandonment
Chilloutman replied to Messier-31's topic in Pillars of Eternity: Stories (Spoiler Warning!)
I'd rather expect to get some kind of a hint when it's time to go see. Say, I assume at the end of chapter 1 we've settled on the stronghold. Would make sense that "makes the news", a bunch of people know where you are now. So.. a message arrives with "you helped our village with kobold threat, now we have trolls!", or something to that effect. And then when get to the village, you also notice the crying lady in front of the crashed house and the traveler who's wagon has lost a wheel, again. And things work out from there... yeah its not perfect, but I hope I will not be omnipresent figure in PoE universe eg. everyone sending me messangers with their new trouble. I would rather have like hint after end of chapter that say that it may be good to look for place I already been as things might changed there, or some new quest leading me back there -
Location abandonment
Chilloutman replied to Messier-31's topic in Pillars of Eternity: Stories (Spoiler Warning!)
I aslo dont like 'use-once' locations. Problem with reusing them (eg. putting new quests in them) is that some people just dont know 'when' is time to go back to check if something is new. Best solution are 'Chapters'. Once you complete chapter 1 i would expect that it took some time and new quests/dialogues/stores should be presented to locations which we already 'solved' -

I am not sure if I understand correctly, and I am not Sims fan, but what emotions have to do with pools? That explanation is fishy at best
