  1. This is fantasy, they make races as they like. Female orlans are taller than male - this isn't even a problem, so there's no need to change it because you believe it should be the other way around for some reason (what reason I wonder?).
  2. So what if orlan females are taller than males? What is not "perfect" here that bothers your perfectionism?
  3. Synchronized movement is ugly and must be changed for sure, but I don't believe we should always take IE games as examples just because this game is their spiritual successor, because, you know, they're a bit outdated. Random delay is also annoying, because when I give an order for the characters to move, I want them to start moving not waiting some random time and then do so. I'm no programmer but I'm sure there are more modern and impressive/natural ways to achieve this.
  4. D&D allignment system sucked back then, and still sucks now. New, fresh ideas are welcome. After all the PoE system is way more rpgish.
  5. So why stay at 2 rings, one amulet and one cloak? Why not go for 10 rings, 3 amulets and 2 cloaks? It's because it's how it's done in IE games and people just can't get over some things... TTON looks quite fantastic, btw!
  6. Let's say it one more time: if want SO MUCH to roll, grab 3 dice, roll them on the table... voi-la! It's even more thrilling doing it this way because you're rolling the dice and not the pc. Why would you want to mess up the system with dice rolling anyway? This isn't D&D get over it people.
  7. It's goot to see Obsi devs testing and change mechanics. If only we had more frequent updates by them, we wouldn't need to argue over many things is so many threads.
  8. After the D:OS encouters I dont believe in vanilla/trash encounters anymore
  9. 2D. No camera rotation no nothing. Baldur's Gate style with zoom. Oh, characters are 3D.
  10. The idea of all stats matter to everyone in both combat AND dialogue/scripted interactions is a good thing. Is something new and it's moving the genre forward imo. Now, the ammount of bonus you gain by increasing a stat may need adjastments for better balance, but this is something else. I believe the problem with the people that have problem with this ruleset is is that they just can't get over that this is not D&D and that D&D is not the only rules to build a game around (and not the best, again, imo).
  11. At least this time they have bigger font size Took them 15 years to realize it
  12. Better pc models and use them as pc icon as an alternative to portraits. (The game already feels a lot as a spiritiual successor to IE games. Heck, even Dragon Age felt as a spiritual successor to Baldur's Gate for me).
  13. One nice way to indicate combat engagement would be if the characters walk aroung with their weapon sheathed, but when an enemy is spotter they draw them and take combat stances (along with the combat music starting, of course).
  14. Partial voice-over is a bit annying imo. I'd prefer either a full voice-over or the DOS style: no voice in any of the dialogue, but full voice of npc around you, monster taunts etc
  15. And Encounter Design. They should check out D:OS for that. Best encounter design ever, imo.
  16. In the IE games I was literally resting after each combat. Combat ends, rest, move on. Pretty annoying. How much more often do you have to rest in PoE actually? You can't get more often than after each combat!
  17. Question: Will there be complete Voice Acting?q No. Just in a few spots. Like the IE games.
  18. Good luck on finding a new job mate!
  19. D&D allignment is juvenile and a cheap way to build characters. Pillars' way is much much MUCH better imo.
  20. The sketches were a catalyst for your imagination. Something that would be hard to explain to todays pretty grfx and mmo crowd. You mean *your* imagination, I believe.
  21. Didn't liked the item sketches tbh. Looked like they took the sketches from their concepts and put them there 'cause the graphics weren;t so good back then to make the items looks pretty good themselves. If they're gonna put drawn items at examine screen (if there is any) I'd prefer to be full drawings not just scetches.
  22. It's a bit funny for me sometimes when I see people talking about localization. I've never played a game localized in my language (except FIFA '97 I believe?) since noone translates games in greek (I think only sports games are translated, but I don't play those anymore). I'm so used in playing games in english that when I try sometimes, for fun, to make a translation of a part of a game in my ming in greek, it sounds ridiculous to me. Like simple things, like how do you translate "greatsword" in greek? "Megaspatha"? "Megalo Spathi"? Sucks
  23. You can't have a game like this without combat log. Like Sensuki said, if you don't like floating text and turn it off, you must have a way to see what's happening. All rpgs (action, mmo, tactical) that use stat mechanics have a combat log. And although I very rarely use it (most of the time I turn it off - I prefere floating text) I can see it is very useful to many. I like the UI as it is but with the Sensuki mock-up. It's more practical. I don't like the solid stuff because I see less of the game and more of stone texture, statues or whatever "immersive" thingies devs have shoved in there. As if the rest of the game is not immersive enough. Funny thing is, I wouldn't be surprized if some people demanded an even older UI style, you know, the one with the 1/4 of the screen dedicated to action and buttons to click for movement
  24. As said by many posters in many different threads, roll-lovers can very easyly take 3 dice, roll them on their desk and generate their stats. Imo, rolling is a bad and annoying choice of character creation.
