  1. I take it back, the dwarves from Heroes of Might and Magic 1, 2 and 3 are the worst
  2. The dwarves are the most unappealing. I believe they are the worst dwarves I've seen in a fantasy setting. That doesen't mean they are terrible, but they're the worst ever
  3. Sedrefilos' suggestions #001: Change the title of the series from "Sensuki's Suggestions" to "IE games VS PoE" Ok, seriously now. Although I watch all your videos and I agree with many of your points (others I find them nipticky), hearing the phrase "in the infinity engine games" all the time, especially when you are referring to things that are common in many games and they're not IE exclusive (like the sound adjastment bar, as an example) starts to become annoying and makes me feel like all you want to say is "look, IE games was the best thing ever, this game won't be even close, just make Baldur's Gate with better graphics and we're all done here". All I'm saying is that the game should better judged as a game in general and not how good it copy-pastes the IE games. I believe we all agree it has the IE feel and it is clearly a spiritual successor of the IE games with or without green circles and cross cursors. Just a friendly comment on your comments.
  4. Game looked awesome to me. Jesse was a bit annoying at times but this wasn't reason for me to stop watching. Looks like I'm gonna have superb fun playing it. Combat seemed ok to me. Don't know why people comment so much on pausing during combat. Repeating pause/unpause was common to me when I was playing the IE games, heck even with DA:O I did the same, so I dunno. Of course I haven't played the beta so I don't know how "broken" it is mechanic/balance wise, even though I've watched many gameplay videos; you can't know for sure if you haven't played yourself (and I usually get over not-so-great combat systems easyly when this isn't the only feature of a game). Only thing I know after new trailer + twitch stream is I want to play this game yesterday! :D
  5. But now you do. And that's exactly what a spoiler is. That's what I said. That I expected to go into caves and fight dragons. I was sure this is going to be in. No spoiler there. Dunegons, caves, monsters... ok I know I'll be doing these thing. No spoiler. I'd be spoiled if they showed me something regarding the main story, or how to solve a crucial puzzle, or that a vital character does something I wouldn't expect them to do... These are spoilers. Glipmses of monsters and magic effects are not. At least not for me.
  6. I can't say I was spolied by the trailer. It was 1 min long and it showed me glimpses. OK I saw snow, a cave, a dragon ot two, the outside of a building... These aren't spoilers. There asre teasers! Like I didn't expect to go into caves and fight dragons. Loved it. It made me want to play the game now without spoiling anything vital.
  7. Your link looks pretty 720p to me Don't watch it here on the forum - watch it straight to youtube. For some reason videos vewed here have only the 360p and 720p options.
  8. I thought that was common in... earth... no?
  9. Like underage people don't play 18+ games
  10. I think I could play this game now, even with not so good combat
  11. Transparent morning star kicks ass. Enemies cant's see what you're hitting them with! Should be used as a magical weapon
  12. You've got me beat. My first PC was a 386. Can't remember how big the hard drive was (I think 20MB?), but I DO remember that it was a 10Mhz system, with a TURBO button that took it to... brace yourselves... 20Mhz! WHOA, SLOW DOWN, PC! I think modern PCs need that button. "Whoa, getting some framerate drop here... *doubles the CPU speed*... *computer bursts into flame*" I remember Prince of Persia, though. That was the most amazing game to me when I first played it. That and Betrayal at Krondor. Haha! I almost forgot the "turbo" button all pcs had :D My first was an 8088. 8Mhz to 16Mhz when turboed (I don't think anyone ever played without turbo button on) with 5+1/4 floppies; no hard drive. I remember Prince of Persia too. Couldn't believe a game could have such a fluid animation :D But I believe the slowest 386 was at 33Mhz.
  13. If a character acts in that many seconds depending of their armor, ability etc and another acts differently during that time because of their armor, abilities etc, this is true real time not turn based. And starting posts about how the game would be better with the IE combat style isn't even constructive because the game won't take that direction whatever several people in these forums say.
  14. I replayed BG 2 earlyer this year and it felt almost as great as the 1st time I played it. And it was annoying at the exact points it was back then: combat and rest. When I first played it I didn't know there were rounds. I was clicking for the character to drink the potion and they'll be swinging swords just to miss for the 100th time or just stand there staring at the monsters until the magical 6 seconds would pass. I was pushing it and pushing it again until something else happened (like character died) and the frustration went up! Wether one prefers the round based system or true real time is matter of oppinion. But seeing that not a single game has ever used this system again, especially Bioware games, shows it is not that popular. And thankfully most people don't like it. And thanakfully there is no chance they'll go with this system in PoE.
  15. I still can't believe that are people out there who find IE combat great... I very rarely get angry with games. One of these rare occations was in BG2 combat. I don't say PoE combat is perfect, but a true real-time with pause system (like DA, KOTOR etc) is 1000 times better that the IE style. It just needs a bit more work.
  16. Wow. What a terrible time to take a hiatus from PC gaming. I hope you were able to catch up on what you missed! I caught up with some. Fallouts for instance, and BG2 heh. At that point I was a bit pissed off because the technology was advancing too fast for my wallet. Then again, I was in my late teens, so I didn't care much about games - I had other interests . Then it was 18 months in the army when I was drafted... at mid 2001 I felt I missed the computers so I decided to come back. It was easyer to buy a descent PC at the time because the prices started to drop.
  17. All started with arcades when I was very young (6 or 7). Loved video games since then. Along with the arcades where the Tiger (and Tiger-like) games. Then it was my first PC in 1990 (I was 10). Several friends and cousins had consoles like gameboy or Atari, C64 and SNES, Mega Drive later, so I had my experiences with those as well. The only console I ever owned was a Game Gear. I had a 5-year break with computer games and computers in general from 1997 to 2001, but then I came back and still playing
  18. Good games exist today too; bad games existed back then too. PoE, though, is the future (I believe) in ROLEPLAY in games. It pushes the genre forward in this section. The "better games in the past" is grognard nostalgia and nothing more (much like old rockers say there is no good music after the 70's).
  19. Like in D:OS. Man that thing was sooooooo sweet!
  20. You're not that old. I was 22 when I was playing BG2 :D
  21. I want floating fish living outside settlements, but, as soon as they get inside them, they turn into a plate of fried fish. I want anti-gravity trees floating everywere and people streatching their heads to snap worms from their roots. I want... (and it goes on and on and on...)
  22. Late '14, early '15 what's the difference. Anyway, I hope it's for the best.
