  1. I believe they said something about a "bark slider" to be implemented later on (or on release). I'm not 100% sure I remember well, but I know they mentioned the barking problem during their first Q&A post beta release.
  2. There is no right and wrong here. It's just a way to play the game. Like Pillars 1 was unplayable because of that. Some like it generic others like to try new stuff. What can we do? You think the devs were "complete loons" for designing the game like that, I presume?
  3. Many people are very critical of Tyranny combat. I enjoyed it. Less than Pillars but enough to have fun. You're all a bunch of elitists
  4. Sawyer himself said that he didn't expect so many people to get upset by the change. And he didn't mean this forum here; he doesn't participate here. So I guess there many others out there. My problem personally is that "generifies" the game from a mechanics point of view. I don't know how it'll play, noone knows yet, but the dump stat virus is already planted.
  5. @DexGames, offcially recognized https://twitter.com/WorldofEternity/status/944354925659619329
  6. @DexGames great job! :D @Juodas Varnas come on man, this was very good; especially the combo with the wolf form :D
  7. Exactly. Dump stats is next. Weeee for the past! This is how progress is always made
  8. A.... Very angry wild Orlan? Hope he accepts the challenge :D
  9. Ok DexGames this is super fun! :D Kudos if you make a character of your portrait too
  10. Because it's tedious and boring as all the handmade implementation of custom portraits. Why can't there be a tool in character creation to do it in-game?
  11. To me, being strong = you cast stronger spells sounded nice. I never thought might was spiritual strength and the rest. And I don't know why smarts = better spellcasting should be the norm and why so many people can't think outside that. It's magic, it works however its designer feels like.
  12. I'm pro old style might too but this has been discussed so much and Obsidian have already made up their minds about this build so let's just see how it plays at least. PS. I don't know where they got the idea than most people wanted strength instead of might though. There were so many complaints about the change which make me think: where do they get their feedback from?
  13. Yeah more choice is better. Like having the option to use model's face as portrait -> 100% match and 100s of options
  14. Obsidian and Bioware have different approach to writing. Both are good in general imo and both had their bad times equally. The important thing is to know what's the game vision and tone and have everyone in the team aligned with that. Obsidian didn't do that with Pillars 1 and it showed not only in writing but in other parts of the game too. Hopefully (and pretty sure) this won't be the case with Deadfire.
  15. The problem with writing wasn't that it was bad but that different writers with different approach, language and style wrote different things seperately and then they mashed them together without anyone editing them to match a specific style. So it was inconsistent and felt weird with a lack of writing vision.
  16. Anyone gonna youtube footage from new build/area? I'd love to see, so if one does can you be so kind as to post it here somewhere? Thnx
  17. Not all the writers, just the guy who wrote Durance and Grieving Mother And yet those are the most interesting and best written characters IMO. ...to be in a book
  18. Eh, although it could be cool, not that big of a loss imo. Maybe next time in a meaty dlc.
  19. If attributes don't affect roleplay anymore and the burden falls on skills, they can just dump attributes altogether for all I care. Just give points per level up to be spent individually to everything (melee damage, action speed, spell aoe, defences etc). Extra customization. *shrug*
  20. Πες τα άνθρωπέ μου! This. Next level roleplay potency is about to be lost
  21. Min-maxing is bad when it is the only option, like in DnD. I hope they don't stretch too far with stat-dumping.
  22. Ah, argumentum ad populum? You'll need to do better than that. Ι don't intend to. I don't care what others think of the game, it's not mine. I played it, I liked it. I'm just bringing up Larian's approach on VO and how Obs can take inspiration because I think they did a very good job and Deadfire can use, at least, some ideas.
  23. Posted there AndreaColombo. Nice thread. Thanks for the reminder!
