  1. Why so many people assume non-developers would know anything about transfered choices? Did they ask Josh and he pointed them here to get his revenge?
  2. I like the promo pictures. In this there ar efour companions facing Eothas. There'a also this one, for Game Informer, done in the same style with the rest three facing a dragon of some sort. Also there's a interview with J.S. http://www.gameinformer.com/b/features/archive/2018/02/06/pillars-ii-director-interview.aspx
  3. Since this is a made-up word and not English, I propose tag it "Eoran" and have plurals end with -rngrzts. So, plural of Eoten is Eotenrngrzts.
  4. Well, we don't know anything more regarding that subject than you do. Why would you think we know anything? The devs themsleves have mentioned that they won't spoil anything too. Josh hinted here and there that even some minor choices surprisingly have made it through to Deadfire though. We can ssume, then, that all major ones did? Who knows? Time will tell. So, there you go About Q&A, I don't think they've announced anything new.
  5. @Flouride, man, I know how things work. But saying one thing and doing another is lying. Plain and simple. Now it's not a big deal here because what they did didn't affect the development of the game or the backers and they didn;t say anything about not going to publishers, as they did the first time. You wanna call it an innocent lie, ok. Personally I don't care much. I paid relatively cheap for a game I know it was going to be good, made by developers I respect and like their design ideas. I still believe Obs could have done it without crowdfunding and that crowndfunding platforms is the golden egg laying goose for the geek industry because of the culture surrounding it and part of the same system.
  6. Seems we gonna left stuck with just boom barrels Ok I can live with that (although including them makes it an insta-compare with DOS2 - which Deadfire's gonna lose ). They might end up being the game's new "thing" hehehe. They sound fun the least
  7. Yo, games aren't important. Better not waste energy on protesting against where they're trying to sell their products. It's just business. You don't like them? Skip them. Nothing's gonna change in your life.
  8. There is nothing wrong in working with publisher. Most indies strike a deal with a publisher to help with release. But working with s different than working for one. The worst part publisher can do is sabotaging game for selfish gain, and they can do it more so than a dev. Publisher can simply discard game dev or IP that got sucked dry or is mistrusted, while Obs and dev team is directly attached to the product. I really don’t care if they outsource advertising and distribution to other entities. As far as a financial benefit of quicker port to consoles - they might be able to sell DLC there as well, if they hurry, which might help in making expansions profitable if there is enough market there. And as far as Josh sabotaging his own game for conlosers’ sake: https://jesawyer.tumblr.com/post/170589270476/aw-hell-son-couldnt-you-have-at-least-waited Never said there's anything wrong with that. I don't care whom they work with - it's their company - but the whole crowdfunding craze started based on the pitch that "publishers won't like our stuff and even if they do they'll put their filthy hands all over them and they'll ruin the initial idea of the game" etc, and then, after the game comes up, what do they do? They go stike deals with those they said they wouldn't work with and that's why they asked for our money in advance. Well, tbh, I find it somewhat of a scam. Now, I don't care that much since I get to buy the game cheaper, I get what I was promised I'll get and they didn't get the money and run, but let's call it what it is, right? Crowdfunding is all part of the same system and games are not important stuff so, eh, I can live with that.
  9. lol whatevah. We got what was promised via Fig. What they do afterwards is their own problem. I see how there's a shoadow over the "no publishers" moto - which is a complete lie, of course, as we see, but I stopped caring about that too as long as I got what I backed them for. We all feel free not to "support" them if we wish. The game was developed on pc for pc and that's obvious. Dubbing changing mechanics as "dumbing down" just because you don't like them is a misuse of the phrase the least. I don't like some of the changes - I think they worked pretty well the first time, maybe they did better than they do now even, but I don't view them as dumb. They're just different.
  10. Yo this is a tactical game y'all! Barrels need to explode when they're shot at! If you break them open, they can create a surface of spilled gunpowder or whatever and then ignite them in a larger area or something. This was all legit in DOS2 (and even more); hope Deadfire's engine can handle stuff like that.
  11. Well, if you don't finish the 1st game and just pick some "world descisions" from the options in Deadfire, as others mentioned, first, you don't know what's happening exactly storywise and option might not be clear enough (had the same problem with Dragon Age Tapestry regarding dlcs of DA2) and, second, minor choices might be skipped in premade world states that would carry on if you imported your save instead. Now, I can understand you're getting bored of the first game because of the pacing in mid-game, but White March fixes this A LOT, plus the game flows way better after you're done with Defiance Bay and off to Eir Glanafath, imo. Also, story of both base game and White March is great so I'd recomend you sustain your mid-game boredom just for that.
  12. Sometimes feels like devs completely erease from memory their former games
  13. Yeah. I believe if they just had the board option as the only for ship to ship combat, most would be happy enough. Hopefully they'd give the option to insta-board.
  14. Unless they design a totally differnt game, I don't see how this can be super exciting in a scripted interaction way. Just to be clear, though: I'm with Obsidian in this; I don't expect/demand of them to create a seperate complicated minigame to please Pirates! fans. The combat seems a bit boring and dragging as I saw it from let's plays but if it's not that frequent to occur it could be a nice break from running around, fighting and talking.
  15. Yes, I know it's old as an expression, but it's so common on pr people only lately. I mean they spam it. Whenever there's a "you", there's also a "guys" after. It's so annoying... Anyway enough with that Keep on people don't let me distract you.
  16. Regarding multiple types of ammo and dedicated targeting system.... I wouldn't like a Pirates game shoved in my Deadfire, tbh.
  17. Terminology is a thing though... What's a starboard? What's jibe??
  18. Oh man... my belly aches so much... seeing this pop up as I was scrolling down :D :D :D
  19. Choice is not an illusion. You're given choices A, B, C, D etc. You make one of them. The illusion is to play a game and expect you're going to get real life choices/consequences :D It's like I ride a car and expect I can make it fly
  20. Sawyer hinted that you can side with Eothas this time around though. I do believe this time things'll play out as Taurus says, which, tbh, is what I expect from every rpg I play. That said, if story, choices in general and final slides are good I can overlook this bar lowering regarding roleplay.
