  1. If we're ranking them by boredom factor j/k Priests are generally good IMO, although some of the casting times could use being snappier. I never pick Boring Death's Door, but ofc other players' mileage may vary.
  2. This would be at the same time more realistic and irritatingly inconvenient. I wouldn’t mind if it was part of Abydon’s challenge, but I’d hate it if it was like that all the time.
  3. Rogue, for I can’t get past the mental image of a squishy class. I also don’t like to have to micromanage that much to get high spike damage (I prefer to stack buffs for sustained DPS.) Chanter, because it doesn’t have many combat-focused passives which are what I like. Sure, chants are powerful but also... boring, for me. Or at least very far from my play style. Ranger because boring and I’m not big on specialized ranged characters. Paladin, because I don’t know. It just doesn’t click for me but I don’t know the reason. Likewise Ciphers, though I toyed with them a little (but so have I with Paladins.)
  4. As far as Deadfire is concerned, I would settle for the Woedican classes that are already in the game (Priest of Woedica, Steel Garrote Paladin.) Just finish them up and unlock them for players. (I'm aware that there's a mod that unlocks them already, but the classes are unfinished—if nothing else, because there is zero in-game reactivity to them.)

  6. I envy your optimism. So far, none of the unnecessary (and at times petty) nerfs from 1.1 have been undone or revised.
  7. So, has anybody tried the Kill Camera feature yet?
  8. I sure hope future mega bosses will have different drops from ingredients to enchant to Mythic quality. That would really cheapen Mythic items which, by the way, won’t be all that useful once no more mega bosses are left to fight. Rest of the enemies can be dealt with using Superb or Legendary gear. I do think soulbound items should upgrade to Legendary though.
  9. 120 is the highest Accuracy I could stack on my Devoted/Monk. I assume a Mythic weapon (via Blessings) would add 3 or 4. BotEP could stack another 10, IIRC. Past that, it’s debuff time I guess.
  10. Actually, that was a lie—you can also get the Infamous Captain talent, so there are two permanent bonuses in Deadfire (on top of those that carry over from the first game.)
  11. IIRC, only Abydon’s Hammer and The Unlabored Blade could upgrade to Mythic. Both were from The White March (I wanna say part 2?)
  12. @Rhaeg: IIRC the new robe models are coming with The Forgotten Sanctum. @Ophiuchus: That’s my expectation based on the first game, unless they went for a twist in Deadfire (which would surprise me.)
  13. Love the new ones! Unfortunately I’ll have to cheat to get them for my Definitive Playthrough
  14. There is only one permanent stat boost you can get in Deadfire, and you get to choose the stat when you get there. It’s an high-level island.
  15. Mythic already existed in the first game, though. It kind of makes sense to have it on a selected few items. Kinda need all soulbound to be able to upgrade to legendary, though. EDIT: Eothas’s challenge is very thematically appropriate, and Galawain’s makes me want to be able to use the challenges with Blessings and mods (and without Expert mode) even more! Curious about the mega boss and kill camera feature, and I love the new Berath’s Blessings. Good fixes too—glad to see more typos addressed to boot Looking forward to feedback on the random encounters bug.
  16. Frankly, I’d rather things stay as is for reasons I’ve already laid out. Of course that ceased to be an option the moment this combo was publicly discussed and therefore put on Obsidian’s radar. If any of you think Obsidian will consider any balancing act whose complexity goes beyond removing an ability from the game or nerfing it into uselessness, by all means reread all patch notes to this point. The track record says you’re mistaken. Thankfully for me, Pathfinder: Kingmaker will be out next week and I can stop desperately looking for ways to have fun with Deadfire.
  17. I disagree that the Fig CE is worse than the Amazon CE—at least as far as the Elite Fig CE is concerned.
  18. True, but immortality is boring. Why would anyone do it instead of just prolonging other buffs indefinitely?
  19. There should also be a random delay in ms between the issuance of the command to move and the action's actually occurring—that's how Infinity Engine games avoided the synchronized robot party effect. Here's to hoping, am I rite?
  20. There is one fundamental difference that sets BDD apart from any healing source in the game: It can't possibly be out-damaged. If your enemy dealt infinite damage per swing, it would still not kill you while under the effects of BDD. This is not just a semantic difference; it is a pivotal difference. Any other healing source can at least potentially be out-damaged by either a very powerful enemy, or a group of enemies focusing fire—and how much damage is required to out-damage the healing effect depends on its base heal plus any modifiers that may or may not be in place. BDD does not depend on ANY modifers and can prevent infinite damage for a duration. This is also known as God Mode, which in every other game I know is a cheat. To allow the base duration of BDD to be extended in any way means opening BDD to all sorts of abuse and cheese. Now, I don't personally mind if it can be abused because, as I said, I never pick it. Abuse it or not, God Mode effects bore me to tears. Boring Death's Door is what it is. I can see how other people may hate the existence of this particular cheesy tactic, but it is also very easy to avoid (I avoid it myself despite being an OCD maximalist and a powergamer, for personal taste eventually wins out past a certain point) and—as noted—it's got fairly high metagaming (and party composition) requirements. I understand that infinite Missile Salvos are a problem. An easily avoidable problem (I don't even have a Wizard in my ideal party), but potentially more immediately intuitive than BDD. However, I doubt Obsidian would do anything more sophisticated than removing an ability entirely from the game, and/or nerfing it into uselessness. Considering their track record of applying multiple fixes to the same problem without testing them individually first, my expectation is that they'll remove Brilliant from the game again and nerf Salvation of Time pretty hard. I'd love to be proven wrong, but I'm not holding my breath.
