When you agree to help Cwineth at the Celestial Sapling, she says she'll go first to see if she can't do something. That makes no sense; I guess she'll see whether she can, in fact, do something Screenshot When you pray to Hylea, Durance interjects and there's a full stop that should be a comma between "Oh" and what follows (i.e. it reads "Oh. to set these trees ablaze, Watcher..." but it should be "Oh, to set these trees ablaze, Watcher...".) Screenshot Shida doesn't know how to spell "millennia" (hint: it's "millennia" with two L's, not one.) Screenshot One of Shida's sentences doesn't end with a quotation mark, but it should. Screenshot

Retaliation
AndreaColombo replied to lord_wc's question in Pillars of Eternity: Technical Support (Spoiler Warning!)
Just managed to repro using Champion's Boon. SAVED GAME: link REPRO STEPS: Load the attached saved game. Access the inventory and observe that the protagonist is wearing the Sanguine Plate, which has the "Retaliation" ability. Talk with the Glanfathans and start a fight. During the fight, select Durance and cast the 5th level spell "Champion's Boon" on the protagonist. As soon as the spell is cast, pause the game and check the combat log. Observe that Durance took damage from the protagonist owing to the Sanguine Plate's "Retailiation" ability. (Screenshot) The ability should only retaliate against attacks / harmful actions. -
SAVED GAME: link (it's the same as for the White Spire bug.) REPRO STEPS: Load the attached saved game. Select Aloth and access his grimoire. Find "Fan of Flames" among his spells and right-click it. Observe that base damage for the spell "Fan of Flames" is listed as "40-55". Now go to the inventory and click "Crafting". Go to "Scrolls Level 1" and select "Fan of Flames". Observe that its description lists its base damage as "45-60". Access the Stash and find "Spellwright's Tome" among the grimoires. Right-click it and find "Jolting Touch" among the 1st-level spells; right-click the spell to read its description. Observe that base damage is listed as "20-35". Now go to the inventory and click "Crafting". Go to "Scrolls Level 1" and select "Jolting Touch". Observe that its description lists its base damage as "55-75".

White Spire spellbind bugs
AndreaColombo replied to pacman's question in Pillars of Eternity: Technical Support (Spoiler Warning!)
I found the cause Here's something for the devs. SAVED GAME: link REPRO STEPS: Load the attached saved game. Access the Stash to find The White Spire and equip it in Kana's third weapon slot. (Do not select the third slot from the inventory; just place the White Spire there and let Kana keep wielding the Estoc he's wielding.) Go back to the game and select Kana. Change his weapon selecting the White Spire. Observe that the Blizzard icon appears next Kana's abilities. Now reload the game, place The White Spire in Kana's third weapon slot, and don't select it. Back to the game, click the Stronghold button. There's an upcoming invasion; elect to resolve it manually so you can enter combat. When the enemies appear, wait until the combat state is triggered. Select Kana and change his weapon so he wields The White Spire (don't do this from the inventory; do it from the game.) Observe that the Blizzard icon does not appear next to Kana's abilities. (So basically when you switch to The White Spire while in combat, the ability doesn't show up.)- 6 replies

Retaliation
AndreaColombo replied to lord_wc's question in Pillars of Eternity: Technical Support (Spoiler Warning!)
I can't seem to repro this issue using Durance to buff my main who's wearing the Sanguine Plate and I don't have a cipher in my party. Could any of you repro with a priest? -
A few more in hope we're still in time for 1.5 When you make your case at the duc's hearing at the end of Act II, one of your possible answers contains a comma splice. The comma underlined in the screenshot should be replaced with a semicolon. Screenshot When Kana comments on the events that lead to Act III, he says "if you forgive me saying so", which is incorrect; the correct form would be "if you forgive my saying so". Screenshot (note that this line might be voiced—I didn't have my cans on when it occurred; if it is, it might be worth keeping it as is to avoid a mismatch between voiced and written text.) Our fellow Marceno in Ondra's Gift appears to have a few ellipsis issues as well As pointed out before, when an ellipsis is followed by a full stop, the two should go together and be followed by a space. Currently, there's a full stop followed by a space followed by an ellipsis. Screenshot (to clarify, "text. ...text" is what is currently there; "text.... text" is what should be there.) In the following sentence spoken by Marceno, "good luck" is an adjective that refers to "charm" and precedes it, therefore it should be hyphenated (i.e. it should be "good-luck charm".) Screenshot

How do you rate PoE
AndreaColombo replied to Namutree's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
It does. But AI continues to act as if it's there, so personally I don't get the point of this removal. Aside from easy kiting for player party. Engagement doesn't really do much to prevent kiting, as demonstrated by Sensuki during the backer beta (link), as well as by this other, more recent video. The same applies to the recovery penalty while moving, which was added for that very purpose by the dev's own admission and which thankfully the IE mod removes. That said, I play with no engagement because I want to be able to move my squishies away from trouble when spectres teleport or fampyrs target them. The whole purpose of moving away is to avoid their getting damage and a disengagement attack would defeat it entirely; the DPS my wizard won't be causing while busy moving away is enough of a penalty in my book. (and to think I don't move in combat half as much as most anti-engagement advocates!) -
How do you rate PoE
AndreaColombo replied to Namutree's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
4/5 But only using the IE mod. Without, it would be 3/5 (I can't enjoy combat with engagement.) Better A.I. and immunities would get it real close to 5/5 in my book -
Actually 1.3 did add a bunch of unique icons for unique weapons that didn't have one, and I believe the devs are working on the remaining missing icons for other item categories (Brandon said in an update that most unique items would eventually get unique icons.) Keeping my hopes up for 1.5 (Darren also confirmed new effects are coming, such as for Petrified, etc.)

When a weapon is enchanted with a lash effect, a visual indicator appears on the weapon (e.g. a Burning Lash weapon has a flaming blade.) However, said visual indicator does only show in-game, and fails to display on your paper doll in the inventory screen (I suppose the same applies to level-up, but I haven't tried.) SAVED GAME: link REPRO STEPS: Load the saved game. Observe that the main character has a Freezing Lash weapon displaying a visual effect on its blade. Enter the inventory. Observe that no visual effect is on the blade held by your character (paper doll.) The same steps can be followed with Edér, who wields a Burning Lash weapon in the same saved game.

When casting a spell through a doorway or passage (i.e. not out in the open), the spell often happens to bounce against walls that it doesn't actually hit. SAVED GAME: link REPRO STEPS: Load the saved game; you'll find yourself in Lle a Rhemen in front of a doorway. Select Aloth. Cast the second level spell "Rolling Flame" in a straight line in front of you. Observe that upon reaching the doorway, the spell bounces against the pillar even though it doesn't actually hit it (and it shouldn't, since a straight line in front of Aloth is actually clear).

Need help, im new.. :)
AndreaColombo replied to Celerion's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
I disagree with the notion that INT is useless for Fighters. I'm currently playing a high-INT Fighter and she's pretty badass INT is mainly for Prone duration on Knockdown.) Of course there can be low-INT Fighter builds that are equally good or even better. But still, high-INT Fighters are pretty rad
