^ Which one is that? Feedback for Obsidian (in case they're reading this) Thanks for making a game in which women in armor don't appear half-naked with barely a stripe of metal on their breasts and one on their genitals. Hallelujah! What the expansion really needs to bring to the table now is a kick-ass black full plate, with spikes and gothic ornaments (or maybe one that looks like Sarevok's from BG1—always loved his black plate.) We have a white knight armor; now we need a black knight one PoE does helmet/headgear design better than most games, but most headgear in the game is the same silver/metal color. Nothing wrong with some realism but, as shown above, most endgame suits of armor in the game are colored (red, gold, green, even blue.) For the expansion we need some unique headgear that matches these armor in color and can be used in conjuction with them (right now I'd rather wear no headgear and give up on the bonuses than to wear something that doesn't match my armor's color/design.)

There's an extra "were" in this interjection spoken by Kana in the Sanitarium: Screenshot There's an extra "it" in this interjection spoken by Hiravias in the Sanitarium: Screenshot (the question itself doesn't super make sense, anyway: Hollowborn don't survive and can't reproduce, so it's by definition impossible for "generations upon generations" to experience the Legacy. If it affects an entire generation, there won't be a new one afterward.)

UI Scaling - blurry font
AndreaColombo replied to Cirventhor's question in Pillars of Eternity: Technical Support (Spoiler Warning!)
Seeing those pictures, I realized I do have blurry text just like everyone else. My monitor is the BenQ BL3200PT 32" 2560x1440; my graphics card is a GTX 970. KTran, some thoughts: While I appreciate the need for upscaling UI assets that are capped at 1920x1200, there is no need for the font to also be upscaled. Case in point: The UI in BG:EE and BGII:EE gets upscaled beyond 1024x768, yet their font is always crystal clear. Polina mentioned here that portraits' native resolution is 4800 x 7540; so I wonder—is there really a need for portraits to be upscaled beyond 1920x1200 and become blurred? If game size is a concern, I would be willing to download a separate "high-resolution assets" installer for a sharper font and sharper portraits (and if inventory icons could receive the same treatment, all the better.) Alternatively, you could provide an option to disable UI scaling as others suggested. I'm not a fan of that solution, personally, as it would make the UI much smaller (I would rather keep a bigger, albeit blurry, UI if I could have sharp fonts and portraits.) EDIT: my DxDiag. -
Vinsssounet - When I found myself in need of a Mechanics guy, I just hired a custom Rogue at an inn and put all of his skill points in Mechanics at level up. Even though I hastily made him, it turned out to be a pretty decent DPS character too so I decided to keep him around instead of recruiting a sixth Obsidian NPC (that was during my first play through.) So if you hire a custom Rogue and actually spend some time optimizing them, you'll find yourself with a Mechanics guy that deals astonishing amounts of damage in combat (peddroelm managed a 300-damage crit once; it's in his signature.)

^ For what it's worth, I haven't run into that particular bug. There is no denying the game is still in need of patching, but I could beat the game with 1.4 without running into any showstoppers (and it is worth noting that I'm a completionist, so I did all the quests and optional content.) Now I'm on my second play through (started with 1.4 and recently updated to 1.5) and I had no issues with Maerwald whatsoever. The game feels pretty safe/stable, if not particularly polished.

Inspired by an exchange with Crucis and Kaigen42 over here, I figured I'd open a thread to discuss the best-looking equipment in Pillars of Eternity. Sanguine Plate Looks amazing on human/elven female characters. Argwes Adra Nothing says "I'm stylish" like a plate whose name I can't spell. Sun Something Mail ... unless it's a chain mail whose name I can't even remember. Looks good on Edér too: Coat of Ill Payment Oh, yes... White Knight, FTW The Dunryd Demon helmet adds to the cool factor. Autumn Something Something Nothing says "I killed an innocent dragon-slayer!" like wearing this armor. The Funky Green Chain Mail All your friends will be green with envy. Vengiatta Rugia With a dandy hat for extra style. Aru-Brakr Not sure how to spell this either. Pallegina's Breastplate. Party Selfie at Night

I like all of those, but on my female human or elven fighter nothing looks rad like Sanguine Plate. A matter of personal taste, I suppose The Autumn Somthing Something chainmail I mentioned in my other post looks great on Edér, in my opinion. You get it from killing the dragon slayer near the Galawain's altar in one of the wilderness areas north of Defiance Bay (the one the adra dragon wants you to betray.) She also wields the best pollaxe in the game.

[1.05] Typo in GM dialog
AndreaColombo replied to a question in Pillars of Eternity: Technical Support (Spoiler Warning!)
Should go here -
Hi, polygon count doesn't really come into it Textures are blurry as though the model was a raster-based asset being upscaled (an example of that is the game's UI, whose assets are rasterized and only exist up to 1920x1200; beyond that resolution, assets are upscaled and become increasingly blurry the farther away you get from 1920x1200); however, 3D character models are vectorial and can, by their very nature, be rendered "natively" at any resolution with no limits (quote from the Wikipedia link, "Vector graphics can be magnified infinitely without loss of quality, while pixel-based graphics cannot.") Playing at 2560x1440, character models in-game are visibly sharper than character models at level up.

In this sentence, "Essence" is capitalized but I don't recall ever seeing it capitalized in any other sentence. It might be worth doing a quick search in the game text for the word to see if it should be always capitalized, or always not capitalized. Screenshot Not sure what is up with the line break between the third and fourth dialog options here? Screenshot Missing quotation mark at the end of this sentence: Screenshot Missing period before the ellipsis: Screenshot

I figured I'd open a new thread for these issues (originally reported here), seeing as they are separate from the issue described in the thread where I had posted them. The main issue is that Hiravias's head is detached from his body (offset issue.) Additionally, some characters have a different color for their complexion depending on whether it is their face or their body. SAVED GAME: link REPRO STEPS: Load the attached saved game. Go to your inventory. Select Hiravias. Observe that Hiravias's head is detached from his body. Screenshot. Select the protagonist. Observe that the protagonist's head is a much darker/greyer color compared to the complexion on the rest of her body. Screenshot From your inventory, select Sagani. Observe that Sagani's head is a much brighter color compared to the complexion on the rest of her body. Screenshot.

Despite being real-time rendered 3D objects, character models are upscaled in the level-up screen if playing at resolutions higher than 1920x1080. SAVED GAME: link REPRO STEPS: Load the attached saved game on a machine whose monitor runs natively at 2560x1440 or higher. Observe that all characters have enough experience to level up. Pick one of the characters and level them up. Observe that when the level-up screen is brought up, the 3D model of the character is blurry as though it was being upscaled. Being real-time rendered 3D objects, characters models should always be rendered at the resolution the game is set to, and never upscaled.

UI Scaling - blurry font
AndreaColombo replied to Cirventhor's question in Pillars of Eternity: Technical Support (Spoiler Warning!)
It is set to 100%. For reference, here's a screenshot of the game text as I see it: Screenshot If it is the same as what you see when you play, I'm officially seeing things that don't exist.
