BETA LIVESTREAM INFO/COMPILATION: Bro, do you even Livestream?
Freshock replied to Bryy's topic in Backer Beta Discussion
Had a look at your Twitch, Bryy, and I'm really impressed by the quality and that you got a webcam going, seems like a proper setup compared to so many others on there. Will definetly be following your stream.- 113 replies

Been a "steamer" for many years and seems like some releases comes at midnight (they probably chose to have midnight release for some games like physical stores), but usually releases comes a special time of day - around 19:00 in Norway (CEST). So it's hard to tell when the release is going to be, don't think they've said anything about it yet.

My flesh is weak. Weak!
Freshock replied to Tartantyco's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
A good thing with the beta is that it won't spoil anything of the story. -
I don't think MOBA gamers are the right kind for the game personally, a big part of it being that PoE is a singleplayer game - so who are the MOBA players going to rage at? Jokes aside - I think they are more used to just control a single character instead of a party (unless they would go hard mode and play only the main hero through the game) and when the competition aspect of the game isn't there - I don't think they would be that interested. My guess is that just regular RPG lovers are the right audience, there's still alot of singleplayer gamers out there that are looking for a game like Pillars of Eternity I'm sure.

Thoughts on Gamescon Stream
Freshock replied to Pray's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
I really can't understand some people that comment that the graphics looks bad, it might a different kind of style maybe - seems to me like it's a scenery paintings mixed with digital graphics and not just the latter - almost seem like people get confused by it and that's kinda sad. Also the character creation "look" was something I found really impressive, really liked that part of the game, and I'm not trying to be a fan boy when I'm saying it. There's definetly things that can be improved in the game, which is not strange when it's beta, but can't really understand the graphics complaints from some people. -
Which tier did you choose?
Freshock replied to Althernai's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
Did they ask for your feedback yet, I'm curious about that. Yea, they added a sheet on the backer pages a while ago and everyone with those tiers must have filled them out by now I believe. Josh Sawyer posted a picture on his instagram showing the backer content a while ago too so I guess it's been implemented already http://instagram.com/p/pHTJSVJx9V/ (my contribution is Borresaine) -
Which tier did you choose?
Freshock replied to Althernai's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
I went for the "design your own weapon" tier, and went crazy on the side orders (cards, shirts etc), so I spent more backing this game than I have spent on games the last 3 years probably. -
Thank you for posting that, the cosmetic pet part was fun, wondering if the special kickstarter item is a pet now. I don't think so as there was also "Kickstarter Exclusive In-Game Pet" for all backers that backed tiers $50+. Really? Can't find it, all I see is that mysterious "in-game item", do you know what kind of pet that was? Edit: Ah found it, searched for "pet" on the Kickstarter page and only one word showed up but you are right - man you got a sharp eye there.

Your comment made me laugh, reminds me of https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YlnorPYTbGM I guess some people are afraid the game won't bring anything new to the table and just be a old game with new graphics, but the small previews we've got already tells (me atleast) that it will be loads of new features while keeping the old school feel.

Custom character portrait
Freshock replied to ashtonw's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
Really impressive, the clothing reminds me of what the sami people/culture use to wear. Really like the look she is giving as well, there's just something about it.. -
I actually think the "interviewer" did good, but I can understand why you think that way. Guess reporters and hosts are acting over the top because they're not genuinely interested in every game they are asking questions about, but seemed to me like he was. He seemed a bit nervous though, which is understandable. The gameplay video is up on YouTube now by the way: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FoyrKRoknp4

I would most likely be a nervous wreck trying to show my game off in front of 8000 viewers or so too, so I can't really blame Adam for messing up there, I see many other developers that are streaming at Gamescom keep messing up - many of them having bug issues rather than "skill" issues. I really liked the taste I got of the game - the art is beautiful, the combat looks fun and I enjoyed the deeper look at character creation. If I have to point a finger at anything it's just small details like what some NPC's are saying are hard to read because of the background: I'm also used to be a bit more "zoomed out" than what we are in PoE, but I will get used to playing that way pretty fast.

Thoughts on Gamescon Stream
Freshock replied to Pray's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
I just got even more hyped after watching the stream, the game looks really pretty and the combat looks like a bunch of fun. Nice to see another class in action and that "NPC-lorebook" you can collect info in is a cool addition. A bit sad that Adam AKA Sassy managed to wipe two times so that we missed out on the ogre's but in a way that just shows that the game is a challenge - and that's a good thing. So it's OK Adam, I forgive you. -

Mostly gaming CS:GO right now, but the fact that 95% of the players in competetive are rude to the bone makes me consider quiting it for now. Remember a time when gaming MMO's and online games equaled a good time. Also been playing some Age of Mythology: Extended Edition - fun game but having alot of issues with it on Steam, taking forever to load and crashes alot. Thinking about buying the new King's Bounty: Dark Side - but it's still a early access game, might be wise to wait with buying it. Can't wait for Pillars of Eternity - as of right now the only game I'm really looking forward to.

I think a realistic world would make the terrain very boring to be honest. In a fantasy world you have the freedom to place winter, summer, desert-terrains closer to eachother than in a realstic world, which means there will be much more variation in the game. Also - placing plain, realsitic trees, flowers and such around the map would also make it look...boring. In my opinion.

Agreed. Wish there was more hotkey options in games. Not everyone's gonna use it, but it's a nice feature to have.

Did you read the "health" part of the quote? Add some difficulty and those good ol' gaming memories will come back.
