I'm enoying it very much so far, it's alot of bugs of course but it's fun to get a taste of what the final product will be. I'm loving the combat, trying out the different classes and just discover the maps available. It's definetly worth it in my eyes but I can understand people that want to wait and get a bug-free experience as well - I've just been waiting to get into this game for a long time so I'm happy I bought the beta access.

After reading "Update#63: Stronghold!" again I started wondering if the events that randomly happen at the Stronghold will count as quests, and if yes would that mean that we technically could get infinite experience by doing them? Or do they count as tasks? (not sure if we get experience or not by doing tasks). I like the idea of getting experience by doing quests, but I see there are some people that dosn't agree - maybe because they are worried that they won't reach a high enough level, so maybe Stronghold quests is Pillars of Eternity's level grinder? Sorry if this question is already been answered, been searching for it on the forums but can't find it myself.

In the end it's a fantasy game, having a bear pet might not be the same thing as it is in our world (although some crazy russians seems to have bear pets IRL too). If you compare the game to real life I would get shocked seeing a godlike walking into a bar as well

Haven't tried all the classes yet, but around 5 of them. I really like rangers, and I designed a bow for the game so I was expecting to have a ranger as a main from the begining, so I was happy to see that playing a ranger is as fun as I hoped it to be. They are very buggy atm but I still got the feel of how it is going to turn out. Other than that I like priests alot, since they have so many different spells and I feel like all of them are interesting, but I wouldn't want one as a main. - Ranger Main - Priest (high might and defensive stats maybe) Like fighters alot as well, so guess I would have that as a tank. Chanters seems good yea, will have to play it a bit more to get the feel of it though.

I think you can bind your own zoom in/out button when you are launching the beta, on the input screen. If not you could just made a macro for now and bind it outside the game I guess.

Does combat need to be slowed down?
Freshock replied to Tartantyco's topic in Backer Beta Discussion
I think I triggered a fast mode in combat, probably using WASD-buttons? It still didn't feel slow to me both in "normal" and "fast" mode. -
Yea, happened to me as well, but it's beta so have to expect things like that. Think this is in the wrong sub-forum by the way - should be in the bug report part.

Dosn't it zoom out when you scroll out? I thought it would be too "zoomed in" when I watched Gamescom footage but after playing it and testing it myself I feel like I'm zoomed out enough. I'm just a little bit slow at moving the camera still, because I'm not used to doing it with the arrow keys but that I can change with key bindings or just getting used to it.

- Love the combat, so many different ways to fight and the animations are really good in combat - I'm going to have alot of fun with this. - The UI is neat, didn't take long before I mastered it. - Music and sound are much better than I could imagine, experienced a few bugs with it though but besides that it's really impressive. - Talking to people feels really nice, although I'm not a "reader" I find myself reading everything they have to say because it just feels right. - Like the character creation as much as I expected. - The "floating" casual chats from NPC's should last longer, I'm not always able to read it before it goes away. - Would be nice to be able to move the camera around using "WASD" but I guess I could change that in key bindings anyway.

I just wrote down some of the bugs I've found so far, sorry that I'm not following the right format of reporting the bugs - I couldn't really understand how to do it correctly with the bugs I've found so far. - Changing tab in the settings menu removes all category texts. - When levling up to second level the "marked pray trait" got no icon (ranger). - The animal companion's portrait next to the main hero's portrait is white until it get's in combat. - When using the scroll on the mouse while in Temple of Breath with Celby his shadow moves back and forth. - In the inventory screen the "W" of "Weapon Sets" are sometimes covering the stats of the character. - Sometimes after talking to NPC's in the Inn some of the party members are stuck running into walls until you move them far away. - When the party wiped I experienced that they just kept rising up again and the enemies kill them over and over again with no defeat pop-up. - After loading a save I can't use any of my main hero's abilitys. - Can't seem to use any of the Wizards spells. (If he's supposed to have any) - After loading a save my party took no damage until a creature died. - The Ranger's companion appears to have a full red icon after loading a save. I will use the right format for reporting bugs in the future, sorry for that.

I see the "generate backer beta-key" is on the backer portal now, but can't use it yet. Guessing it's happening very soon Excited! Edit: Actually just got it! Activated on steam! :D

Free gum for Backers?
Freshock replied to wolfdyne's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
Wow, that must be the worst pre-order bonus I've ever seen. Maybe Obsidian could ship the game with a live beetle pet to those who pre-ordered. -
From the Kickstarter page: "Strategy Guide = Tips and Tricks on how to play the game. Collector's Book = Art, Concepts, Making Of/Behind the Scenes, Monster Info, additional lore, and info on companions/characters Almanac = All about the World - the History and Lore of the world of Project Eternity" EDIT: Don't know why it got all white in the background lol, excuse that

@Bryy Seriously feel like quitting all multiplayer games when hearing that. I feel like people acted so much better on the internet/online games when I was a kid. Maybe more and more people feel like they can say anything now just because they know that their true identity won't be revealed to the one they are hurting. Maybe before they weren't sure what consequences flaming others had.

There will most likely be an update coming early into the day with a message that beta keys are up for grabs in the backer portal.

Update #63: Stronghold!
Freshock replied to BAdler's topic in Pillars of Eternity: Announcements & News
Had forgot about the details on the Stronghold and luckily found this update again, I'm so happy this stretch goal was reached! Sounds like so much fun, hopefully the bandits attacking can't take any of my stored items within the stronghold but dosn't sound like they can - just sound like they can affect your wallet, or maybe free prisoners. I picture myself spending way too many hours on just this part of the game.- 455 replies

Played League of Legends for maybe 8 months or so and I've never seen such a bad community (bad remarks in every game almost) besides in the Call of Duty-series. It's hard not to think badly about that genre afterwards, but I guess not all games in the genre is like that - and it seems like Dota 2 might be a bit more mature in it's community (might be wrong). But in the end I think the MOBA people are just a bunch of people from different genres mixed together. Don't think they have a special taste besides MOBA games itself.

Our House vs. our Stronghold
Freshock replied to Marceror's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
Josh makes a good point. Don't think I would visit a house if I got my own Stronghold. -
Our House vs. our Stronghold
Freshock replied to Marceror's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
Wonder if the bonuses from resting in a player house/stronghold is better than resting in a random inn, maybe you can purhase a better bed/bonuses for your stronghold? I also pictured the player house being inside the stronghold itself, but I'm not sure - don't think I've heard anything about it before. I guess in a way the player house could be the throne within the castle. -
BETA LIVESTREAM INFO/COMPILATION: Bro, do you even Livestream?
Freshock replied to Bryy's topic in Backer Beta Discussion
Seems to me like kids on Twitch fall in love with any woman streaming no matter what, and when it's a more "grown-up" games that's being played I bet there's more mature viewers that don't critisize people about their looks. I hope you find courage to do it if you want to, if not you should keep streaming the way that's most comfortable and fun for you, then it gets fun for the viewer as well. Besides I bet you are more attractive than you think, everyone is their own biggest criticizer. I followed you and Twitch, and by the way - really like your artwork, think I've said it somewere already.- 113 replies

BETA LIVESTREAM INFO/COMPILATION: Bro, do you even Livestream?
Freshock replied to Bryy's topic in Backer Beta Discussion
@ashtonw Haha, I get that comment but I think many people are interested in seing reactions of the player as well. To bring up a very mainstream gamer - I don't think PewDiePie would be doing good if it wasn't for his reactions for example. Although Pillars of Eternity isn't a horror game I think it still will be a better stream with a webcam. Personal taste perhaps.- 113 replies

BETA LIVESTREAM INFO/COMPILATION: Bro, do you even Livestream?
Freshock replied to Bryy's topic in Backer Beta Discussion
A bit off topic but I like it when there's some on past broadcasts because it gives a taste of the quality of the stream and what you can expect, so I'd recommend having something there anyway.- 113 replies
