  1. You realize Eder's not female, right? And the bald old man is a friggin' monk. What do you expect? Zangief from Street Fighter? "I crush man's head between thigh like sparrow's egg!" Honestly, it sounds like you're trying to overcompensate for something, and I don't even know what. What, 3 out of 8 companions are female, and you're not only assuming the rest are gonna be female, but you're insisting that we have some male characters thrown in who are SO grizzled and Conan-ish that they make up for... what... Sagani's dainty princess look? Cadegund's pretty pretty dress that just so happens to look like plate mail, and her bubble gun that just so happens to look like a friggin' rifle? Yeah... man, can we get some testosterone in here? I think our female companions may get a touch of the vapors, and faint at any second. LMMFAO. The vapors. Hehe. In all seriousness, I like the companions, they all seem interesting. If I feel the need to have a companion to wack to I'll create one in the adventurer's hall. Or I'll play star trek online where I have 7 gorgoeus female Orion Slavegirl bridge officers, as well as a female trill and female romulan BOs for veriety. On a less too much information note so far the three companions I'm most interested are the Monk, because he makes me think of David Cardeen from kung-fu the lengend continues on acid, the Godlike Paladin because the Vailian culture seems a cool fusion between Italian Renassince culture and 70's African American. I'm picturing her order as a cross between the papal guard and the black panthers. Cool. And lastly the Orlan fellow because I'm wondering how they handle social class vs. race issues. Like he's from a marginalized race, Orlans, but he's also a noble who comes from money. I've always felt that social class at the highest levels trumps race. In other words race matters more when it comes to how you are treated at poorer levels, then rich because society engrains in most people an instinctive deference to the wealthy, that transends race.
  2. @cornish you do realize that the Adventurers hall will allow you to create any party that you want? If you want a male Aumura barbarian you can make said companion. As for the Death Godlike I don't see those as helmets or horns, I see them as bony scabs that have grown over the void that exists on the Death Godlike's face, the hole from which all that darkness leaks out. I think if you removed the bony growth all you'd see is darkness tingled with the essence of death leaking out from a hole in thier face.

  4. So far Hylea (bird), Nature, and Death Godlike are confirmed. A picture also shows a fiery godlike, and light looking one and a water Godlike. I suspect that the Glowing one is a Godlike of that God of Light and redemption and the fiery one is likely a Godlike of that fire Goddess of bombs. I'm curious if their will be a Godlike for that Goddess of rightful rule, the desposed Queen.
  5. If Rogues, Ciphers, Rangers are heavy hitters, Fighters and Barbarians are front liners, Wizards and Druids are Mob Rulers, and Priests and Chanters are Leaders of the Band, what are Paladins and Monks? Btw I vote Leaders of the Band.
  6. I'm not sure that the first Godlike in,that strip of three is lightening, I don't see sparks. She could simply be a Godlike of Light, as in Eothas God of Light and Redemption.
  7. Chanters sound really cool, I like the idea of using phrases to craft songs. Curious if summoned Monsters will work like Ranger Animal companions. Sounds good so far. I'm looking forward to more lore on the classes and races.
  8. Most games have random name generators, which usually base the name on culture/race, sometimes class.
  9. I thought Recovery is an ability, not a spell, after all don't you get to choose your spell? Sacred Circle: Aura Buff Spells: Dailies that turn into encounters as you level. Recovery: Stamina Heal Ability
  10. I thought Recovery is an ability, not a spell, after all don't you get to choose your spell? Sacred Circle: Aura Buff Spells: Dailies that turn into encounters as you level. Recovery: Stamina Heal Ability
  11. Btw anyone else have the feeling that Chanters will get access to Blasts like wizards, but not spells? Just a guess. Merry Christmas.
  12. That way I see them doing classes is start with the basic frame work and then let the player fill in the blanks with what they want. So maybe your mage gets Blast, Spells, and familar like all mages do, but he then fills his skill points into Stealth, Pick Pockets, and Heal skills, and then chooses a universal talent for Battle Riendeer pets that he gets early access too because he's a Christmas Elf.
  13. It'd be neat if Christmas elves of some sort were a subrace of elves. Anyways sounds cool. I like the baseline abilities for these four classes. I'm curious how often Priests can use recovery, is it encounter, at will? Recovery could use a cooler name, maybe blessing, or Faith Healing. Sacred Circle sounds like the priests passive ability, but a cool one. Not sure how a Priests diety choice effects things. Wizard blasts remind me of the 3e warlock. Rogues sound cool. I also love the invetory system.
  14. Well rereading the chanter on the wiki I expect they will chant Seriously though the main ability will be their chanting which sounds like a series of minor magical effects strung together. I think you'll beable to add more effects to you chant as you level and you may be able to put together multiple chants you can choose from. I also expect you'll be able to continiously chant, no fire and forget or cool down. Also I expect you'll have to search for new sounds, verses to add to your chants. So you'll be able to find verses and then string them together to form chants, almost like designing your own spells. I also expect that the bard will beable to select low level combat moves and spells, although weather it will be from thier own unique spells/attacks or from a limited selection of minor spells/attacks from other classes. Of course the question becomes from which classes can the bard use magic/attacks. Wizard, Cleric, and Fighter seem most obvious, but what about others like Cipher, Barbarian, Druid?
  15. Correction it has no magically hitpoint healing, but it does have stamina healing. So the healer archtype can be mentained. It does mean abilities that prevent or dampen damage in the first place are even more premium, maybe more then healers are. Think of it as preventive medicine. Also notice they choose to call the class Priest and not cleric which I think speaks volumes about the classes focus is less healing and more expressing thier faith in the form of magic representive of thier God's nature. Also other classes will get some stamina healing ability as will. Also its hard to gage rate of needed rests without knowing average hitpoints and average monster damage. If Character have 20hp and 80 stamina and the average damage is is 4hp and 16sp per attack and a character gets hit on average 2 times a battle then that character will have to rest after 4 fights. Now if HP and SP has more partity say 80hp and 80sp then rests won't be needed as often. At the same rate of damage you'll last 10 fights. We have the current ratio of sp to hp, but nothing to compare it too.
  16. I think Forton is awesome, him and Sagani and the Elf Mage are my favourites so far. Maybe some soot from Cade muskeet on her cheek would make her more interesting. I'd like to see the Amaua Companion, Orlan Companion and Godlike Companion.
  17. I don't think that they've nailed down the Aumaua lore yet. But good points. They might not have all the subraces yet, but Imagine they've got the basics done, such as universal traits and origin/place in the world.
  18. There's a whole industry devoted to teaching people exactly how to gain skill in persuasion its called PickUp, Sales, Politics, and the Psychology of Influence. Conversation go along patterns of communication, practice and experimentation can discover the likest reaction to ones actions and practice can build confidence. Also "inner game" aka ones internal thinking and effect external communication through body language and tone. Here's how I'd handle attributes. Charisma- Body Language and Ton, low Charisma you don't look people in the eyes, you slouch, whisper meekly, and lean in projecting subsevance, high Charisma you stand tall, look people in the eye, and talk proudly, plus your instincts for connecting with people is strong. To me Charisma=Confidence and Certainty and that allow can influence the uncertain. Intellence- You know just what to say, your witty, remember cool facts, and project expertise. Combine with Charisma for perfect comic timing. Wisdom- Observation, you look, listen, and pay attention. You influence people through pacing and leading, aka you mirror thier actions in a sublty way for a while till repore is created and then start to lead by making small changes to your body language and tone watch as they adapt them too. Also you can use your observations to making shaping compliments that encourage behavioral changes you like, although you need only pretext the desired attribute need not be there. Strength: Raw physical sex appeal, trim fit, impressive, but muscles and displaying ones strength and can be intimidating too, especially when used to imply a threat of violence. Dexterity- Good with your hands, a nice hand shake, pat on the shoulders, back rub, and so on. Endurence-Perfect for long conversations amoung other things.
  19. How can one really gage the art direction of the Amaua when we don't know what the Amaua are supposed to be or thier background/lore, ancestory? The pictures before the lore is explained is putting the cart before the horse. Are the Amaua aqua cat people, orc substitutes, Goliath substitutes, Whale/Dolphin people, a human off shoot, fish or from people, something else. Until I know that I have no reference with which to judge concept art. So please we need a lore update for the races so we have reference points.
  20. Orcs often have pig noses too aka snoots at least in D&D. So these are cool giant aqua thundercats. THUNDER CATS...THUNDER CATS...THUNDER CATS HOOOOOOOOOOOOO... I loved Thundercats so hope they hurry up and make a live action movie. And make sure sure the actress playing cheetara has big boob. She was my favourite.
  21. But... that's because they're mammals. All mammals have hair. "Aquatic" does not equate to fish or amphibian: whales, dolphins, manatees, polar bears, beavers, etc. are all varying degrees of hairy, water-loving mammals. Me, I look at the barbarian picture and I can totally see something like this going down: EDIT: Okay you won the thread, because A) A race of Water Diving Tiger people is awesome B) It makes sense because Cat's like eating fish C) I don't want anger your aqua tiger pet. Grrrrr. :D
  22. Love the art. My first impression of the Amaua was that it was two different species until I looked closer (I'm on a mobile phone). The barbarian looked like a Half Orc at first and the Wizard a Thundercat oddly, but looking closer there appears to be a less pebbly Goliath feel, but we don't know the coloration range yet. I'm hoping for Blue/Aqua with black spots/strips given thier prefered habitat. I will say thier less animalistic then people were expecting. Very interesting.
  23. Strange idea, but what if the Gods are knowable and what people associotate with a God is just another Saint/Avatar of that God.
