It really depends on the origin and the context. You assume the races came about via evolution, in this world it may have been act of the Gods. A Cat Goddess might decide to make some cats humaniods to better worship her. Wizards experimenting on lizards might add human DNA. A species of tree frog might under go the same pressures as humanity. Even yes breasts could evolve on Reptiles if enviromental pressures forced more reptile species to give live birth (there is one species of reptile that does) with young needing nurishment from the mother. I have no problem with Anthromorphic features on a species if thier is a cause/reason for it. Heck if theres not, I can make one up. Anways right now my guess is the Aumaua are race of big Shark like humaniods, sharp teeth, maybe gills. Maybe the reason they tend to prefer land near water is they lay thier eggs in the water and when baby Aumaua hatch they're like tadpoles, coming to shore once they've grown up enough to become humaniods. Amphibious, but not Amphibians.

I think they'll be at least 7-15 choices for religion. I also think the religions may come in different forms. One might be based on the Dyrwood's worship of Megran, another based on Eothos in Readcas. A third might be based around the Death God, a fourth around an Orlan patheon, a fifth might not be based on Gods at all, just like some rl religions aren't, and sixth might worship the Eldar Gods, and so on. Maybe one based on Necromatic research.

They share conceptual space with half-orc some how, the way the Orlans share conceptual space with Gnomes and Halflings.

I think the philosphy will be primarily based on the middle ages, so Renassance Philosphers and beyond won't of much influence. Most of the influence will be middle ages philosphers and in turn the ancients who influenced thier thinking. St. Augustus was before the middle ages of his ideas were very influencial. Also to take into account that this will be influenced a very different religious situation. Polytheism is more common and reincarnion is an established fact. They may want too look at Indian philosphers of the same period including these interested in Tantric practices as well as European philosphers.

My position on Feminism is simple. I support equality, but get the f*** out of my bedroom. I support legislation for equal pay for equal work, I support publicly funded access to abortian for women who choose it, I oppose spousal abuse, I support rape shield laws, I oppose income inequality, I don't use terms like feminazi which I find offencive and so on. Because I'm attracted to fit women with large breasts I'm villified for encouraging unhealthy body imagine, had I been lucky enough to be attracted to **** I would be celebrated (for the record I support gay rights). So while I agree with many things with Feminists it matters not, I'm the enemy or so many of them have decided, to be repressed at every opportunity (nevermind they repress other women in the process). To be fair that more radical feminists, there are other types with more of a live and let live attidude. All this culture stuff, like raiding vs. peace is tied to the culture mechanic. Aumaua from the Dyrwood would niether for example. You could have some predominately Aumaua nations that are island sheep farmers, other pirates, others religious, others that build floating cities, and others that are former Vialian slaves that founded thier own city after escaping. Others could build cities from ice on Glaciers that are warded against divine interence. Some Aumaua cultures might hate each other and many Aumaua will have culturally assulated into the cultures of other races.

Dang your right, my bad, I'm sorry. I wouldn't mind a Necromanticon feel to the Aumaua, like thier desended from an ancient race that worshipped mad elder gods and whose civilization sank beneath the waves with the survivors fleeing to nearby coasts and islands.

I originally donated via Kickstarter, but then when the time was up it wouldn't accept my credit card! I tried to fixed the situation, but it just wouldn't work so I was like F*** this and opened a paypal account and donated that way. In like seven days I'll be removed from Kickstarter as a backer, but now I'm a paypal backer. I wanted Obsiden and you guys know I didn't just donate and ditch when it came to paying the bill. If the paypal side is still up by Halloween I'll donate another 25 dollars for the full digital tier. When paypal is a choice I take it every time over kickstarter now. And if Kickstarter gets mad at me tough, it should have accepted my credit card when it had the chance (and yes I made sure the funds were there and completed the transaction with paypal which was successful).

Boob plate is not going to deflect a blade with enough force to pierce the armour enough to pierce the heart, most of the energy kinetic is going to be used and what's left is not going to be enough to pierce the plate if the intial attack full strength was not enough. Also take into account that your armour will in time be magic, which will altered the properties of the armour's base material which might not be made from normal material to begin with in some cases. Magic could even make the chain mail bikini work really. Maybe its enchanted to confer the durablity of the metal its made from onto his or her flesh. Or the loin cloth of incorpereality. The Plate Bikini of hypnosis, that cause foes to subconciously miss the target completely. Glasssteal thong of magic mirror, protects by creating illusionary dupilcates. The Mitheril Teddy of Magnetic Defiance, creates a magnetic field that draws the weapon to parts of the armour that can safely endure the impact. Or how about Diamond Demibra of Temporal Disappation, slows an attacker long enough to dodge. So many ways to make sexy armour work. Kind of fun too.

You assume fat=lazy, which is false, a person can have alot of muscle under the fat. Its just a question of burning less fat then one consumes. I'm a landscaper and I've seen it many times.

Just thought I'd point out Squids aren't amphibians, there Cephalopods of the same subclass as Octopus and Cuttlefish (which aren't really fish). I think a Cephalopod race would be awesome, some subraces would be more Octopus like, others Squid like, and yet others would be like Cuttlefish. Lots of different ways to design it too, maybe like a Mindflayer, Maybe like The Evil Queen Octopus chick from little mermaid, maybe more subtly with a few attributes like suckers on the arms, simular skin, and the ability to squirt ink. As for the last question I check all if them because culture is seperate from Race in the game and so all of them apply.

Except, you are literally as wrong as you possibly could be regarding physique. Just because you deem something to be a certain way, feminist, doesn't make it a certain way. The hulking, over exaggerated physique of males -does- bother me, and pretty much everyone I know who plays traditional fantasy/RPG type games. It's even worse when I'm playing a mage/wizard/etc who carries around 20-25 pounds maximum, but when he takes off his robes he has a Conan the Barbarian type physique. Now, before you try to refute that, let me just point out you can't, because that's how -I- feel. All that being said I would rather development time be spent on other things than trying to make ridiculous varieties of body types in an isometric RPG. So a guy with man boobs is the equivlant of a women with big breasts? Yeah as a guy who could sport some cleavage I can tell you it really isn't :D

I really hope effing not, was Planescape considered one of the worst games ever? Wasn't its plot amazing, isn't it being lauded everywhere as Black Isles/"Obsidians" best game, possibly the best storytelling in a CRPG whatsoever and doesn't even the OP even have a character portrait stemming from there as an avatar? Quoting from that games vision document: How the hell does "feminism" or breast size come in to play as to how well written some characters are (or on a larger scale a game) or how good their characterization is, is it somehow "in" now to discriminate against women with big breasts? And am I the only one to find it absolutely hilarious that people came out in droves to complain about how "unrealistic" this is, despite the armor being perfectly fine in the function it is supposed to accomplish: But nobody seems to be complaining about a geriartric lacking any sort of body armor and apparently only fighting with his fists being "unrealistic" at all? Were all the complaints about "realism" even only a ruse to push through feminist agenda yet again, mayhaps and why should that now be relevant to game design? Example when Igles put those ugly shorts on Supergirl sales dropped. During the Kelly era sales were 44,000 to 85,000 and in the Gates/Igles era they dropped 34,000 thousand sales. It also reminds me of the Spellplague as strange as that sound. A minority bitched loudly about the realms, Wotc listen tried to appease these people and watched sales and interest dry up. Now we have the Sundering to fix it. Look having some people we various body types is fine where it makes sense, I'm not unreasonable, but there room for girls that resemble the ones in planescape as well. I sorry, but this kind of stuff gets on my nerves. I'm a heavy guy, not skinny, but I don't let it get to me everything I see a buff guy. I don't accuse him of having peck implants ;D I remember this girl in highschool she was very heavy, but she always dated really good looking guys, many of whom could cook too, but not once did she complain about realistic body armour or boob plate She just had a good attidude and good humour. Cade looks way better in "Boob Plate" then the other, sorry but its true. Some of us don't hyper anaylze the armour for flaws in the realism. In history the only reason boob plate didn't exist is because women were not allowed to be soldiers at that time, so women who were had to conceal there gender, or they'd be murdered (No armour invovled, but an example would be the female pope, when they found out she was a women she was stoned to death sadly). If this society has equality of gender then some women warriors might wish to express that instead of hiding it.

Anyone else dying to know more about the Druids, Rangers, Aumaua, Godlike, and Orlans? I hope for more lore and details. How do Rangers and Druids or even Monks use thier souls? What are the origins of the Orlan and Aumaua? Do Godlike have communities of thier own? Can Godlike breed true amoung thier own kind or are they more a divinely inspired mutation then a true race?

They've said that traditional races will be done with unique spin, so maybe thier not evil and maybe they live in Jungles, with a kind of Aztec culture. They'd have humaniod sacrifice, but in order to protect the world some kind of threat.

To be honest I'm okay with variety of body in the game, but I still want the beautiful chick with the hour glass figure as well in inappriotate armour as well, or at least the option to make her as one of my mercanaries. In STO my crew is always hot busty girls. I'm not sorry, its what I'm attracted to, its not like,I get a choice. IRL I don't expect physical perfection, but this is fantasy and I plan on building my perfect Harem...er...I mean party. I know clearly this makes me an evil masgonist in some peoples eyes, but I like what I like.

Well it was created by a mad wizard so it should help tell us the story of the Wizard Ob Nua. I expect lots of magical labs, torture chambers for rival mages, undead and construct guardians, horrors summoned by Ob's magic, magic traps, areas of weird magic, and at the bottom any ruins Ob Nua ran into in,his creation of the dungeon. Its should be filled with Ob Nua's brillance and madness in,equal measure, as well as invaders who have set up shop in Ob Nua's absence. Maybe areas of experimentation for his apprentices as well, who maybe still around as Lichs. Actually facing Ob Nua as a Lich at the very bottom as the final boss would be cool or being given an option to free him instead.

A Stronghold in a big city is an unlikely although maybe in a sequel, but a small village is possible and more realistic. As far as strongholds that cube item in Planescape Torment was kind of like a stronghold you could take with you that had its own randomized dungeon.

The difficulty modes are for those that want no exit from the megadungeon, don't force it down my throat. I don't see the Megadungeon as an underground trap, I see it as a relic of the past to uncover and explore, but with dangerous creatures and breathtaking wonders. It should have plot and story and be about more then an annoying grindfest.

I hope we get to find out about more about the races soon and more about the subraces soon and how many subraces each race gets. We know so little its hard to speculate.
