  1. I feel confedant that 2.8 will be reached and,George will be a lock.
  2. Any other races planned as stretch goals at 2.9 million and beyond? How high are the Paypal donations? Maybe Example of what kind of traits subraces may have? They've given thier basic fluff vision for Wizards, Fighters, Rogues, Ciphers, Paladins, Chanters, Priests, Barbarians, but what about Rangers, Druids, and Monks? Just some suggestions.
  3. I don't get why its so important to a few people not to include certain classes, if you don't like them, don't play them. At this point it doesn't matter, they're already stretch goals (Paladin/Chanter aka Bard) that I'm absolutely certain will be reached. They can't drop them now as a stretch goal, people have already back it for that stretch goal. I don't think anyone has to keep justifying why they want a certain class and the bashing of fans of various classes is wrong. For those that didn't like previous incarnations of Paladin the PE Paladin seems mixed with 4e warlord and Cavaliar and devoted more to causes then to Gods (although Gods and/or specific duties to a God/s can be a cause) heck you could even have Paladin's devoted to Nature instead of Gods for Warden feel. Chanters seem less foppish minsterial, although that maybe an option in more advance societies, but as a tribal/village singing/story telling Shaman type and lorekeeper. Chants actually make me think of Snake Charmers, only Wayward, spirits instead of snakes.
  4. Whose says any of these classes have to be,heroic. The Rogue as described sounds like a cross between a Rogue and a 4e assassin. Paladins are super devoted to causes, but no says those causes have to be good. A Paladin could be a member of an order devoted to Genocide against elves and forced conversions, another to defending an Evil King, and yet another to liberating Evil Eldar Gods, or something as simple as an order of Death Knights that believe in the suppiority of Undeath. And Chanter's Chants sing to wayward spirits, I could see a Dirge Still bard with necromantic tricks, like summoning ghosts or the damned to attack. Wizards, well wizards will probably have dark spells of various types. Priests can worship dark gods. Rangers well I not sure what they plan for Rangers, beyond bows/ranged weapons. Fighter are just soldiers, it's a skill set without preconvieved morality. Don't know about monks as they concieve them. Hungery Ghost and Drunken Master styles would be cool though. Druid don't know enough about thier plans, but thier maybe something like Blight or Swarm Druids. Ciphers are feared as a threat to free will its self and the souls of others. The fluff suggests Psion mixed with Dread Necromancer and the 4e ardent (they manipulate not just minds, but your soul and can draw power from the Souls of others).
  5. Mr. Ziets is a story orientated goal. Where do you think story stuff comes from if not writers. With one more writer you have all the writing, lore, NPCs, originizations, maybe even new areas and so on that he creates in addition to what the current writers are creating, which means more content and an improvement in content. The new Pally sounds cool, like the love child of 4e Warlord, 4e Paladin, and the Pathfinder Cavalier (especially the orders and causes focus in the cavalier). The Palace guard by the way is a throw back to the original prechristian Paladins in a sense. I believe Some Emperors had a Palatine guards or something. At least I think I read something along those lines. Rereading the Chanter, the Chanter really sounds like across between the Bard and the Shaman, with Chants (music/stories) that interact with the spirits of the world. For what comes next I wouldn't mind some more races and thier regions.
  6. I used stuff like jet and psycho to become a pornstar in fallout 2. Kind of hope they have stuff like pornstar, boxer, mobster, married, pimp like they did in fallout 2.
  7. Just watched as 2,499,995 dollars turn into over 2,500,000. There going to need to create new stretch goals today as with paypal 2,600,000 has got to be close now. We'll reached it by tommorrow.
  8. For some reason when I read enigeer I thought of the enigeer, one of the cenobites from hellraiser. That would be a very creepy class.
  9. I agree the holy knight archtype should be called something different then Paladin and Alignment restrictions removed. An idea to help make it different from priests instead of using faith to draw magic from the soul a Paladin has a second, none mortal soul, a celetrial or infernal soul that manifests as a sword or mount and most of his divine magic manifests via his second holy soul instead by spells.
  10. I'll probably do a mixture of the two, plot driven NPCs and PCish NPCs. After all no one says you can't make you party a mix of the two and experiment.
  11. Why not a PC, it an extension of the Bards theme, mixed with Alchemist, both classes people want.
  12. Interesting, we know one type of soul at least have visited the divine realms. Also we now know that you gain soul powers from choices and background seperate from your class from an interview.
  13. Haha, jugs I like that. Any of you have a better name
  14. Okay I have this that really draws on the nature of magic of the setting. Combine the Alchemist and the Bard. Its to expand the idea of the Bard class into an Artisan Class that draws magic from its soul and invests it into its art, musical, items, potions. Just an idea.
  15. Yeah I agree with Ravenshrike. I really like the Soul idea, it really fleshes out the setting and gives it a core theme. But I don't like comparisons to the force. The force is a field of energy and Souls are so much more then sources of magic. And while Souls are the source of magic in a general sense, souls can have very different natures/forms, not every soul can do everything, they have to be shaped in a sense. Now that I think of it this vaguely reminds me of Mage: The Awakening, cool game. Not completely, but a bit. I like that fighters can draw on thier souls as well. As for it being Anime, it won't have the pure cheeze of most PG Anime, say Dragonball Z, it'll have much deeper philosphical overtones. Also Your in the Game isn't mana, its your freaking Soul so it plays a much more diverse role in the game and plotline, then just your magic. As for Wizards the way they describe it, it makes sense. The way the wizard draws magic from his Soul is through almost scienctic study of his Soul, via arcane formuela. Requiring a Wizard to use a Tome I figure is because he uses it to access the functions of his soul, to impute formulas, like a keyboard and mouse to the souls computer. A Cleric on the other hand utilizes his soul differently, because in part it is different, its been to high planes of existance and been shaped by that. And so on.
  16. "Yeah I bet Obsidian would be able to fit even Ninja Zombie Cheerleader Pandas into the lore, without raising any questions " Sorry for the lack of quote tag techinical difficulties. That should totally be the stretch goal for 2.8 million, a Lesbian Ninja Zombie Cheerleader Panda class Seriously anybody paying that kind of money is a big enough fanboy/girl to be trusted with the honor. No ones going to spend that kind of monet in to say add Howard Stern's producer, Bababooey, as an NPC.
  17. Yes, Glanfalten (or something) Elves are an example of that (so far they sound simular to wild/wood elves.
  18. You could be right, no way to know till they release the numbers. Hope he's underestimating.
  19. As far as I can tell, this soul pheneoma is related to class. It looks like I was right about that.
  20. In the most recent interview with Josh on kickstarter, its states its at 2,500,000 and rising, so I'm assuming it includes the paypal numbers which the kickstarter page does not. When that was published the Kickstarter page was at 2.25 million I believe, so that hints that paypal may have earned 250,000 dollars on its own. By now its probably already at 2.6 million, maybe 2.7 million. I hope they share the total numbers soon.
  21. Well they said raceS plural so that's my assumption until they correct themselves.
  22. So we know the Godlike Races have been described as simular in concept to the Planetouched races of d&d, examples given the aasmir, Tiefling, Genasi. We also know that each of these races have been touched by spefics "Gods" or God. We also know they plan on more of a morally grey word then typical good vs. evil. Or mature as they call it. So here is my guess each race of Godlike will be based around an in game Pantheon, each Pantheon with its own theme and subraces wil be aligned with a subset or individual of that respective Pantheon. So for example maybe thiers a Pantheon of Light (not good, just light) which dwell in certain planes.Thier Godlike might be called blesslings (I'm just guessing here) and a subrace of blesslings might be Libras, created by J Dog God of Justice. Another might be from the Pantheon of Darkness (not evil) called Glorious and a Subrace called the Alu-Fiends, created by Dipstick, God of lust, and Asprin, Goddess of not tonight I've got a headache, and by Bubba God of Spying. And a third Pantheon, more neutral in flavour, invovling Gods of the element, Nature. These are Just silly examples, it could be more or less, or maybe I'm wrong entirely. Maybe thier will be only two typpes of Godblike, maybe four and they could add a Lovecraftian type for example. what do you guys think.
  23. No they refer to the Godlike in the Plural, so it'll more likely be 8 races, three of which will be Godlike.
  24. Races known so far Elves dwarves Subraces - Norhern Temperate Southern Boreal Humans 2.3 Million Dollar stretch goal Races Godlike (Aasmirlike?) Godlike (tieflinglike?) Godlike (genasilike?) Unknown Races? Two at least, maybe more with farther stretch goals We know thier unique enough that they can't be simple catogroized which leaves out gobliniods , furries, most mythological creatures, so that leaves races completely unique to the world, its themes, and story. If they reachthe 2.3 million goal they'll be 3 traditional races, 2 unique stretch goal races, and the Godlike Races, unknown quanity, but they gave three examples so until I know more, I'll guess thier are three of them.
