I'm on my cell, did he say anything else interesting, aside from the 60k paypal? -
I could see the Orlan having thier own God or at least one primarily associated with them.

Party Building
Gyor replied to Gyor's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
It would help if race number six was revealed. -
We've been shown two Gods in the Game, which seem to have cultural specific names btw. I like the twist on the fire and war Goddess (anyone else get an American Revolution feel from her?) and the Light and Redemption God. So what other Gods would you like to see in the game. I'd like to see a Nature Goddess, A Necromaticon type God/s, A God like DCs Sleez, God of Water/Ice, A Goddess of Knoweldge and Magic, God of Love and the Hunt (think Cupid without the diaper), Goddess of Time, God of Death and the Earth and Goddess of Undeath, Ancestor Spirits (acting as a Collective God), A Goddess of Thieves and Crime, The Lars a Collective of minor Gods, A fiendish God of Suffering and Revenge. Just a few suggestions, any other ideas?

Okay we've got 6 races (Humans, Elves, Dwarves, Godlike, ??? and Orlan), plus who knows how many subraces, 11 classes (Barbarian, Chanters, Wizards, Rogues, Fighters, Priests, Paladins, Druids, Rangers, Ciphers, Monks), and who knows how many cultures. So what kind of party would you like to build? I kick it off with a few ideas. A Party of Godlike, one of each subrace would be cool, call it the Pantheon. Priest, Barbarian, Druid, Monk, Wizard, Chanter classes. Cultures all from Aedyr. Or Maybe build a PC Paladin Orlan called ****weasel (after the George Tasker Goblin Paladin), with a Godlike Cipher, Elf Chanter, Human Paladin (his mentor), Godlike Priest, a ??? Rogue (aristocract). All Vialans culture.

I just realized that this explains the popularity or Lack of of Godlike in some places. If your a Godlike of a fire and war Goddess then your going to be unpopular where she's unpopular and popular where she is well loved. Same with the God of Light and Redemption, if your his Godlike your just not going to be popular in the Dyerwood.

The other two races
Gyor replied to Jigawatts's topic in Pillars of Eternity: Stories (Spoiler Warning!)
I finally I know what race my dad is. Gorgonzolas, its always nice to know where you come from ;p Orlan sound interesting, I hope they come in blue. My bet is the other race comes from the South, since this race comes from the north. Just a guess. -
Here's a question, what happens after 3.5 million? Will they have stretch goals for 3.6 million to 4 million just in case or just add another big City at 4 million or a Stronghold as big as a big city?

Big City #2- 3.5mil. stretch goal
Gyor replied to nerevar's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
Its at 2.676 million now, its definately looking like the rate of growth is growing. Now just upgraded pledges, but new people. Not only will they if this continues pass 2.7 million in a couple of hours, but might end up reaching the next level the endless paths. Heck if this rate continues they might reach 2.8 by early morning est. -
Project Eternity: Wiki
Gyor replied to Tigranes's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
Looks like Orlan are Mystery Race number 1. An artic/cold temperature race, so that will have to be updated. -
I've been watching the ticker and if it keeps going at this rate it be 2.7million in by the time I get up tommorrow, maybe before I go to bed. That will be two stretch Goals achieved in one day (if we don't include paypal). The ticker hit 2.6 million this morning and if the current rate continues we could see 2.7 million today too.

I remain optimistic, and even if we 'only' get to 3.4 it's not like they're going to use those last $400,000 for hookers and blow. Edit: Probably. Hookers and blow LMFAO. Seriously LMFAO think I peed myself a bit.

Kickstarter Overtime?
Gyor replied to shibby191's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
Directly no, that's against Kickstarter Rules, indirectly via Paypal or even a seperate kickstarter aimed at the the second big city yes. -
2.6 mil!
Gyor replied to RosesandAshes's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
Already at 2.623 million and rising with 5 days to go. Both 2.7 million and 2.8 Million are safe bets, especially with, paypal in the mix. Personally I think they'll get to 3 million with paypal, 3.3 to 3.5 million if thiers a major spike. I think will get a couple of new bigger stretch goals today when they update, like 3 million, 3.3 million and even 3.5 million. Just a guess. -
Priests would be the counter balance, a few priests and under priests with maybe a few allied Paladins and Chanters in some cases would be the magic protection a village gets. Far more dangerous them an in your face Wizard trying to blow your village up would be a Cipher inflitrating your village and sublety taking control of you mind and maybe your soul too. The Priest/s might never know until its too late or never when thier subverted.

I think your dead on, it matches his discription of Chants.

You might be able to have pets as well.

If you wanted another class...
Gyor replied to Gecimen's topic in Pillars of Eternity: Stories (Spoiler Warning!)
The Necromancer/summoner maybe taken by either the Cleric or the Wizard. The Cleric has "Divine summons" and the Wizard "Conjure Nightmares". -

3.5 Binder from Tome of Magic. -
Mr. Ziets is a story orientated goal. Where do you think story stuff comes from if not writers. With one more writer you have all the writing, lore, NPCs, originizations, maybe even new areas and so on that he creates in addition to what the current writers are creating, which means more content and an improvement in content. The new Pally sounds cool, like the love child of 4e Warlord, 4e Paladin, and the Pathfinder Cavalier (especially the orders and causes focus in the cavalier). The Palace guard by the way is a throw back to the original prechristian Paladins in a sense. I believe Some Emperors had a Palatine guards or something. At least I think I read something along those lines. Rereading the Chanter, the Chanter really sounds like across between the Bard and the Shaman, with Chants (music/stories) that interact with the spirits of the world. For what comes next I wouldn't mind some more races and thier regions. Actually, this version of the Paladin has me intrigued. I never really cared for the alignment-based D&D characters as I hated alignment, so this more warlord/ cavalier type character could suit me fine. I need to read up on the 4e warlord! I'm also really interested in the concept of a loremaster/ artificer character. I've been really wanting good support characters in this game, and hopefully this will fill that slot. I've been pestering Josh about getting a leader archetype in the game for quite a while. I'm a really big fan of the 3.5 D&D Marshal. The Warlord in 4E was based off this class as well. When we started discussing a kind of Marshal/Paladin mix for a class I got pretty excited. PE's Paladin will be pretty unique for a CRPG and alot of fun. Actually my first thought was this was like more magical Cavalier class from Pathfinder, what with orders/causes and the focus on team work. Then the commands idea made me think about Warlords from 4e, which made me realize that themetically Pathfinders Cavaliers are a cross between Paladins and Warlord but with Pathfinders 3.x variant rules. I can't help, but wonder if PE Paladin's will have a mount feature of some sort, even if it just speeds up movement on the overmap. Both Paladins and Cavaliers often have mounts via class features and Warlords rock with granted mounts. It also leaves enough room in the class for Blackguard style characters.
