  1. "Perfect is the enemy of the good." It's not complacency; it's a business decision. As a business your incentive is to get the game out the door once it's in a playable condition, rather than racking up red ink to polish every little flaw. You may have some gamer grousing about it, but at least you're still solvent and able to produce more games.
  2. ModDB 2018 Player's Choice Mod of the Year Award
  3. It's definitely in a much better state now with all the DLC available. Good move on Obsidian's part to get that content out the door before the end of the year.
  4. Wants to see it mouthing Gollum...
  5. My guess is they'll focus on more upscale AA games following the acquisition. Maybe we'll see more PoE releases but with enhancements to 3D, such as detailed interactive cut scenes.
  6. STR in the PoE system would be a better fit for an Oriental setting, where it can represent qi, or ch'i. Western minds brought up on the nerd-power stereotype of frail wizards don't seem to wrap themselves around the idea quite as well.
  7. DYNAMO, episode 1 of 6. Amateur acting, but some nifty effects via 3D modelling.
  8. You encounter the Brotherhood of Tl;dr and they remonstrate with you to add more paragraph breaks...
  9. You should. It's barely an RPG but still has its merits as a decent space opera thing. It's mostly driven by characters rather than by story itself. And the ending in the third game sucks. But until that it's pretty enjoyable. The mining mini-game in ME2 was pretty awful as well. Hopefully there won't be anything like that.
  10. There aren't any deities left without challenges, are there?
  11. Nicely done. This year was a somewhat of a disappointment, cRPG-wise, what with Underworld Ascendant, The Bard's Tale IV, and Fallout 76 getting not so great reviews. There was Kingdom Come: Deliverance plus Monster Hunter though, so some decent competition.
  12. Will there be aliens? I get the feeling it's all human. Can't have sci-fi romance without at least one non-fleshy colored humanoid race.
  13. Package Thief vs. Glitter Bomb Trap
  14. I suppose to make things interesting they could do a "gaussian" glow rather than a simple icon. That is, spread out the indicator across a wide, blurred band, with the destination randomly located somewhere within (according to a std. normal distribution). I.e. you get a general sense of the direction but need to narrow it down by moving closer. As you get nearer, or if your sense of direction improves, the glow narrows.
