  1. 'Star Trek' mailbox glows at night https://www.cnet.com/news/star-trek-mailbox-glows-at-night/ Nice.
  2. I enjoyed the music track in PoE. It wasn't the least bit jarring and often set a suitable mood for the environment. If the game music is putting somebody to sleep, I suspect it's just not to their particular taste. Musical preferences are a very personal choice, after all.
  3. A rest is usually less than a day, so you may need to wait longer.
  4. SoZ allowed party conversations where the skills of your companions did matter. I haven't tried the OC Makeover SoZ Edition, but it's possible that may have been implemented there.
  5. I'm not sure we'll ever see games like NWN and NWN2 again that somewhat closely implement the D&D ruleset and are highly mod-able. Plus there's the licensing terms that would need to be agreed upon.
  6. FreshLook has been working on an enhanced version of the graphics engine. Here's his demo of height fog for a NWN2 area:
  7. Aye, well the Devic of Caroc was a manufactured facade to an otherwise reasonably normal character, and she fit within the soul-based theme of the plot. There was virtually no reactivity to her that I can recall, even though she is utterly alien to most people's experience in that setting. Her presence could just as easily have been handled through magical tattoos on a human, or some such device.
  8. The point I wanted to make earlier, before it got side-tracked, is that introducing a weird companion in an otherwise relatively mundane fantasy setting just for the sake of being a weird companion isn't a particularly beneficial one. Just look at the PoE godlike, for example. They take up extra development resources, both from the art perspective and from game reactivity. Were they worth it? It's debatable. If you're going to have a Cean Gŵla, or something equally exotic, they should either be fundamental to the plot line or the entire adventure should probably be a freak show where weird is the norm. But that's just my perspective. I'm not opposed to weird characters -- I love sci-fi for example -- but I like a cRPG that takes itself seriously as well.
  9. I submit every companion in Mask of the Betrayer as a counterpoint. Or Planescape: Torment for that matter. I never finished PS:T either.
  10. I submit every companion in Mask of the Betrayer as a counterpoint. Well... I didn't enjoy MotB and never finished it, so there you go.
  11. I personally don't care that much for weird characters. They're usually one-trick ponies that become annoying over the long haul, and they potentially take up a disproportional amount of development resources to handle the special cases. I'd rather just see a well-developed normal character with unique flaws, an interesting back-story, and deep motivations.
  12. Trump vs. Biden 9 round knockout match Last one to die from a stroke wins!
  13. The advantage of speculative fiction is the opportunity to explore new and unique situations. If the game is to explore sexual situations, I'd like to see it take a look at ones that are particular to this setting. For example, the implications of sexual relations with non-human intelligent creatures, or unusual ramifications of relations with the corporeal undead or animancy animations employing captured souls. Would a sexually obsessed animancer go so far as to encase the soul of the object of their affections into a shapely construct? Are there intelligent non-humans who keep humanoid concubines of different species? What about a degenerate brothel that maintains prostitutes appealing to a variety of tastes. &c.
  14. I suppose if somebody wants a wider spell choice, they can multi-class. Maybe there will also be magic rings that allow more spells during combat?
  15. Bird **** all over your boat if you piss off Hylea? It's all over the, ahem, poop deck.
  16. Middle management suck-up, the RPG. Every monster fight is a boss monster.
  17. PoE3 will be a console MMORPG with loot chests and microtransactions. :aiee:
  18. I'm waiting to see how it plays out, but I suspect I'll find it too restrictive. They could have switched to a spell point system and kept the casting times as they were. That would also allow a more diverse selection of spells that are better adaptable to the conditions.
  19. Did you and the idiots that liked you even read what the OP said? Jeez I see these mistakes all the time, concrete proof people see what they want to see. Yes I read the original post. Now get a grip and cool down.
  20. You'd think, given the Dwarven reputation as underground dwellers, that they would have a reputation for a deeper intimacy with Adra and its properties.
