What's on the idiot box Part 4 (or something)
Leferd replied to LadyCrimson's topic in Way Off-Topic
On Episode 8. Daredevil is now my favorite current scripted drama. I'd go bonkers if they ended the series with the Born Again storyline. Please make it happen. -
Playoffs start tomorrow. My picks. The West Warriors(1) vs. Pelicans(8] - Golden State in 5 Rockets (2) vs. Mavericks (7) - Dallas in 6 Clippers (3) vs. Spurs (6) - San Antonio in 7 Trail Blazers (4) vs. Grizzlies (5) - Memphis in 7 The East Hawks(1) vs. Nets(8]- Atlanta in 4 Cavaliers(2) vs. Celtics(7) - Cleveland in 5 Bulls(3) vs. Bucks(6) - Chicago in 7 Raptors(4) vs. Wiz Bullets(5) - Toronto in 6 WC Semis Warriors over Memphis in 5 Spurs over Mavericks in 5 EC Semis Hawks over Raptors in 5 Cavs over Bulls in 5 WC Finals Warriors over Spurs in 7 EC Finals Cavs over Hawks in 7 NBA Finals Warriors over Cavs in 5 Golden State is a historical juggernaut. They are by far the best defensive team - league best in Defensive Efficiency and FG% Defense, while also being tops in PPG, Pace, and FG%. Their point differential is 10.1. They average 27.4 assists per game, the most by any team since the SHOWTIME! Lakers. They have the league's best road record, and oh yeah...they were also 39-2 at home. Also, STEPHEN CURRY IS THE GREATEST SHOOTER IN THE HISTORY OF BASKETBALL AND IS RIGHT NOW THE MOST SKILLED PLAYER WITH A BASKETBALL IN HIS HANDS for both purpose and showmanship.

My Ballot. MVP: Stephen Curry ROY: Ender Wiggin DPOY: Kawhi Leonard COY: Steve Kerr. But it's going to be Coach Bud. MIP: Jimmy Butler 6Man: Lou Williams All NBA First Team: Curry, Beard, Bron, Brow, M. Gasol Second Team: CP3, Westbrook, Kawhi, Griffin, Boogie Third Team: Wall, Kyrie, Aldridge, Pau G., DeAndre Defense First Team: Tony Allen, Danny Green, Kawhi, Draymond, Bogut Second Team: P. Beverley, Wall, Iguodala, Ibaka, R. Gobert I'm deliberately omitting DeAndre Jordan, Brow, and Marc Gasol because despite their gaudy shotblocking numbers and reputations, they allow 48%-49% Field Goal percentage at the rim. Pretty mundane for "elite" rim protectors. Ibaka, Gobert, and Bogut are at 40%-41%. #DeepStats All Rookie First Team: Ender, Mirotic, E. Payton....zzzzzzzz Just kidding about Kawhi for DPOY. It's really Draymond Green. Because I'm a homer.

Ha! Throw me a bone. I'm on my phone on a train.

Stating that player X is a better shooter than Stephen Curry because of FG% is the same as saying Willie McGee is a better hitter than Rickey Henderson because...batting average.
-
Lawrence Kasdan is the best of the Star Wars writers --he gets it, and I've enjoyed Abrams' works. I'm optimistic.

Not at all. Kerr and Curry being responsible for Golden State's succes are not mutually exclusive. You're the one belittling this season's MVP. Lebron was the one who phoned it in earlier this season and wasn't around for his teammates or coach. You can't take a two week vacation in the middle of the year and expect to win MVP in a down year.

Waiting for the next ep!

Exclusively made just for Volo. Fact: Stephen Curry isn't merely the greatest shooter in the history of the game, but he's also the craftiest and most skilled baller with the basketball in his hands in the planet. Fact: If you swap Lebron and Kyrie for Steph and Klay, the Cavs would displace Atlanta as the #1 seed in the East. *edit* I didn't actually make the video, nor was it made exclusively for Volourn.

My impressions of the game
Leferd replied to Danvil's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
You're making up those percentages out of air. In those videos, Kickstarter updates, and forum posts -Josh references Tim quite frequently -especially as it relates to the classes. Additionally other designers have say in system design as well -such as Bobby Null. -
My impressions of the game
Leferd replied to Danvil's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
You should do some research before you post. Timothy did only programming as far as we know Adam handled the PR stuff as the project's CEO and did some programming here and there Fenstermaker did most of the writing (that's why writing is one of the few strong points this game has) Avellone wrote a few (awesome) companions and ingame books. Being the creative lead gives him the freedom to get involved as much as he wants - which is not much So yeah, Pillars was Obsidian's B-team project with JES at the helm. That was decided before production started. It's not a bad thing. New talent must be forged in fire. Cain is a senior programmer but also helped Josh with system and class design and he was responsible for the stronghold. Brennecke is the lead programmer, executive producer, and took lead in concepting and pitching the game. -

What's on the idiot box Part 4 (or something)
Leferd replied to LadyCrimson's topic in Way Off-Topic
I've decided to hold off on playing PoE since we have news on the upcoming patches. Gives me a chance to maybe catch up on some shows. Plus NBA playoffs. -
I'm curious to see if there is going to be some glamour involved.
-
I'm still waiting on the Grand Theft Auto 1 & 2 spiritual successor Kickstarter. I hear top down view late 90's remakes are the rage now.

Just finished episode 3. It's very good. Definitely has that gritty Frank Miller and Denny O'Neil vibe to it. -
Angry Joe LOVED Pillars Of Eternity
Leferd replied to kozzy's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
But, the video posted in the OP is from February. And PoE has been number 1 on Steam sales since it was released. I'm not sure how you figure Angry Joe is responsible for PoE becoming number 5 in the last day. Repost. Already at 300,000+ views after 17 hours. -

Like PoE, Angry Joe isn't for everyone, but when you get past his over-the-top theatrics (which I actually do find entertaining) --he has a lot of substance in his reviews and they are very much worth viewing. Probably why he can regularly get millions of hits for his videos. -

Words. So many words to be read. But read them he did. Yup. He's literate... Fair review. -
Hah, I always assume the gastrointestinal cost of those street vendors is too high, glad to hear you survived. Best food in the Bay. More gooder than Mission Burritos. Extra points because they're illegal. http://www.sfweekly.com/sanfrancisco/bacon-wrapped-hot-dog-vendors-lose-customers-when-they-go-legit/Content?oid=2180246

Last night on the walk through the BART overpass to Oracle Arena --treated myself to some illicit black market bacon wrapped hotdogs with grilled onions, bell peppers, mustard, ketchup, mayo, and hot sauce. Stephen Curry bombs and bacon wrapped goodness. Mmmm.
