I used chorizo and chicken garlic sausage as my protein component in the fideos I just made. ...wait...not sure if this thread is about these types of sausages....

And the A's won their first opening day in ten years. I was switching between this game and the Duke -Wisconsin final.

Pillars of Eternity - Question.

Knights have to start training at an early age.

I'd actually prefer a Star Trek: Starfleet Command style game than a Star Trek RPG to be honest. You know...a tactical fleet starship combat simulator. Lends itself better to the IP.

So is this game actually good?
Leferd replied to rkade8583's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
Well since you've been both bashing the game and trolling Obsidian on these boards for years before release, this is a shocking statement. -

Metacritic is terrible and often hopelessly skewed. -

I have great affection for this game to the point that I predict that I will make a frowny face after I finish my first playthrough and realize that it's over. ...I grossly overpaid for this game, but I would do it again. -

Wisconsin knocks out the formerly perfect Kentucky 71-64 to face Duke for the championship. Sorry Ensign Robin Lefler. Meanwhile, Frank Kaminsky's draft stock is rising.

Can I just say that I really liked Keyrock's name for last year's thread?

While I personally find the moral crusading over the original limerick to be silly, the outrage from its mutually agreed upon change is just rich.

Trying to get through the PoE Collector's Guidebook. But between watching the Warriors and playing Eternity, I just end up wanting to fall asleep after I get through a couple paragraphs.

Limerick edit thread
Leferd replied to Divinehammer's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
Hyperbole is hyperbole. Before anyone gets immolated under the fires of the Internet forum court of public opinion, let's consider context and situation? I don't know nor do I care about this individual nor do I care one way whether Obsidian "caved," let's not make this issue a bigger deal then what it really is? A joke was made. Somebody got offended. Obsidian looked at it, saw the ambiguously gray area of it, and contacted the backer in question. They agreed to change it and make another joke about it. Nothing unreasonable happened. -
Sabre now stronger than sword
Leferd replied to stadi's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
The sword has the advantage of using the best of either piercing or slashing damage, while a sabre has only slashing damage. -

Patch notes for 1.03
Leferd replied to Sleazebag's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
he would be our best damage dealer, but with the hm resting scheme, Gromnir has our weezer doing little more than observing for half our battles. is nothing wrong with that, but it does cut into the damage totals. HA! Good Fun! Then again, I just picked up the Grieving Mother and her dual blunderbuss and constant mindblade combo is packing serious punch. -

Yup. Aloth is my party howitzer and by far, highest net damage dealer. -
Companions - who wrote what?
Leferd replied to Eric Fenstermaker's topic in Pillars of Eternity: Stories (Spoiler Warning!)
Thanks for the info Eric. Really enjoying the NPC's. -
Please tell me that not every team in the NHL plays dump and chase and neutral zone trap. It's just sucking the enjoyment of the game for me. That's what initially made me lose interest in the early 2000's. They need to seriously do something to open up the game more. Either widen the rink to International standards or go 4 on 4. As it stands right now, everything is just too compacted. As a spectator, I want to see slick stickhandling, snazzy passing, and fancy skating. You know...skill.

Pre-ordering expansion
Leferd replied to DannyBarks's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
Nope. Looks like they've disabled the Add On function for the game proper and expansion. -
So a few weeks back, I went to my first professional ice hockey match in 20+ years. San Jose Sharks vs. the Vancouver Killer Whales. Most incredibly boring sports entertainment show I've ever been to. What I picked up from the game as far as strategery was concerned was that the team without the puck would flood their players between the two blue lines on center ice and essentially prevent the offensive team from skating through. Instead, they would flick the puck across the boards and chase after it. Rinse and repeat ad-nauseum. I can't recall any player actually carrying the puck pass the second blue line. I thought ice hockey would be more similar to NHL '94 that I played on my old Sega. Atleast there was some manner of fistacuffs very early on.
