  1. They have yet made a game I consider fun. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Well your opinion is in the very small minority, therefore your opinion is irrelevant. Wanted to say that for a long time.
  2. I'm ashamed to say that the art has kept me away from most of Miller's stuff. He's a really lousy artist.
  3. First Person skill based = Like Diablo 2 =
  4. I came up with my own setting a couple years back called Acerbitor, which was a combo of Acerbus and Nitor, the latin words for Light and Dark. It was a world that was once technologically advanced, but a mad wizard called down a meteor which screwed up the orbit of the planet causing one side to constantly face the sun, the other to be constantly dark. This also caused the collapse of the technological societies and pretty much reset everything to medieval. 200 years later, the old societies are being excavated and slowly rebuilt, but only a few nations have the knowledge to build their own mechanical stuff, the rest can only excavate it and restore it. I thought it was neat. One thing we did was only have 3 gods. Dark, Light, and Time, all of which were neutral.
  5. I heard they were going to make a 6th one where you got to play as the child of the hero from the first 5. They were going to redo character creation to let you play as a female if you wanted, and have a lot more appearance customization, but the lackluster sales of 5 canned that. They were great games, good story, fun gameplay, just great.
  6. Hero's Quest 1: So You Want to Be a Hero Otherwise known as Quest for Glory
  7. When I decided I wanted to get into the gaming industry, I expected crunch time in the last couple months of development, because thats what I was told it was like. When the EA thing broke and it turned out crunch time was the entire development cycle for some games, it nearly made me re-think getting into games, as EA is the largest employer for 3d artists in the Greater Vancouver area. (I believe they currently employ something like 1400 people, probably 40% or more being artists)
  8. Then you must hate Robert Jordan <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Heheh, thats exactly who I was thinking of when I wrote that.
  9. When it comes to writing style, I like everything to have a point. Description should be there to bring the reader into the world, not to fill space.
  10. The little grope at the end was a nice touch.
  11. Personally I'd like to see Iridonia and Corellia.
  12. I think he described it as Pac-Man meets Populous meets Civilization. My only worry here is that if its as versatile as it looks, couldn't it put a lot of artists out of work?
  13. Well, according to the article, you design what things look like, he designed his stuff to look cartoony, you can design yours so its not. Anyway, I so want this game. I'm curious to hear what the devs think about how this technology could be applied to RPGs.
  14. Mine tends to be Atton and Bao-Dur, Atton and Visas, or Atton and Mira.
  15. In Kotor 1 it seemed out of character for Jolee to fight against me when I went darkside.
  16. Yeah, I know. I'm in Vancouver at the moment, and pretty much everyone here makes sports games except Relic. I really don't care where I start, I just eventually want to get into making RPGs, and the pickings for that sort of thing is pretty small up here. Bioware is pretty much it. And Thanks Feargus.
  17. http://www.NCIX.com is good if you're canadian too. Especially if they have a retail outlet nearby so you don't have to get it shipped. Friend of mine got a hard drive there for around 40 bucks less than future shop, for a better HD than Future Shop was selling.
  18. All the furniture in my apartment is now couches. My desk is now a couch, my lamps are couches, my tables are couches. Its annoying because now I can't get to my computer. In the game that is...
  19. Thats pretty much the story of the first one. An unknown evil is destroying worlds and you escape the destruction of yours and go on a quest to find your friends, protect the existing worlds, and hopefully restore the destroyed ones. I'm definitely looking forward to this, since the first was so good.
  20. Apparently they're using copies of the comics as storyboards. Thats how close.
  21. Exile only comments on knowing the mother once Kreia has told the Exile about her the exile didnt actually no her. Kreia could be the Handmaidens mother, Kreia said Arren Kae was beautiful, Atton said Kreia was beautiful once, darkside makes Kreia look old. Kreia could hav Trained REvan under her name Arren Kae and then as Traya (perhaps shes the betrayer because she betrayed the jedi beliefs by falling in love and having a baby) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I got the conversation point with Handmaiden without Kreia saying anything.
  22. I wonder what attracts people to anime. Is it for the "beautiful" eyes... ...or is there another reason? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> For the most part, Anime tends to have better stories than north american animation, mostly due to the ongoing nature rather than episodic nature. I'm really sick of the art style and crappy animation though. And the entertaining ones with the good story are rarely put on TV over here, and when they are they're generally horribly dubbed and edited, such as Escaflowne. If they did the new He-Man cartoon with an ongoing story, I'm sure it would have been as popular as most anime too. Its a shame no one watched it, it was probably the best afternoon cartoon on the air.
  23. Curse me for finding that humorous. But I already knew I was a horrible person.
  24. Cake and Rise Against. I have 4 Cake albums and 3 Rise Against albums on shuffle.
  25. It would be nice if a developer in Vancouver made RPGs, but except for Relic, they all make sports or racing games. If I chose any though, it would be either Bioware or Obsidian.
