I loved Napoleon Dynamite. I laughed my head off. Another movie I can wholeheartedly recommend is Crash. It's a surprisingly nuanced and funny movie about racism, made in the Short Cuts-style (several different stories that all connect somehow) and a cast that's absolutely amazing. Very emotional movie.

For everyone who enjoys action: Ong-bak! An absolute must-see if you enjoy high adrenaline martial arts movies. The plot is a bit basic, but the action is incredibly impressive, even for a non-action lover like myself. Even my girlfriend enjoyed this movie, for what it's worth

NHL 06: 7.6/10 from GameSpot "It's got all the new rule changes, as well as an almost entirely up-to-date roster, but considering how similar the game is overall to 2005's version, you have to ask yourself, 'Is that really enough?'" http://www.gamespot.com/ps2/sports/nhl06/review.html NHL 2k6: 8.5/10 from GameSpot "This franchise lives and dies by its gameplay, and on that front, it does not disappoint." http://www.gamespot.com/ps2/sports/nhl2k6/review.html I guess I've made my choice. I'm going for NHL 2k6 this year, because if there's one thing that really disturbs me about EA's line of sports games it's the fact that they're lazy and don't update the game enough from year to year. A new roster does NOT warrant $50!

Seeing as it's Microsoft that sets all the rules in the computer world, you might as well see DirectX 10 as progress. Nothing stops progress so I'm guessing my next GPU must be DirectX 10 compatible. In a way it's good. I remember when they switched from the old Windows OS (95, 98, ME) to the 'new' one (2000, 2003, XP). At first it felt like a stupid move because of all the old programs that stopped working, but I can still remember all the problems the games had back then. XP was actually a good move in the end (if for nothing else, to get away from the 640 Kb architecture).

You know, with all these lame bloggers clogging up the internet, you'd figure someone over at Obsidian would catch up soon. Come on guys, show us your blogs!! (that sounded kinky by the way..)

Tyranthraxus in Pool of Radiance was kind of neat. Not only did he have an impersonator waiting just outside his private room (Tyranithraxus, that fooled me it was him for almost 10 years real life!), he had an entire city under his control (full of henchmen) that you had to free, block by block. And when you finally reached him, he had the power to convince everyone in your little gang that weren't good aligned that they should fight for him instead! Imagine the shock of meeting 12 level 8 fighters (level cap was 8 in Pool of Radiance), Tyranthraxus (who was a dragon) AND everyone who was evil in your own gang. Quite a fight.

I read this too. But why? I thought the Myst franchise was doing well? Except, perhaps, for UrU Online..

You will, once they start imposing conservative moral beliefs and right wing propaganda into every article and review they publish. Have you ever watched Fox News?

My girlfriend's MP3-player is 1 Gb and that has seemed like enough the few times I have borrowed it from her. I've even used it to move large files from my harddrive to a friend's Xbox! I liked that.

Actually, I think your article kind of set the level for this discussion, and the thread never went above it. I'm sure you thought the article was well-written and well thought-out, but apparently me (and most of the rest of the board members) did not.

Another drawback of full voice acting is that most development houses hire like.. 10-20 actors for all the voices. If the game has 100 NPC's, you're bound to start recognizing some of the actors after a while. I remember in Gothic 2 they were unfortunate enough to put the same voice actor on one of the main characters AND the different dragons you fought later in the game. It wouldn't have been so bad if the guy voicing them hadn't had such an original and easily recognizable voice.

No! Don't summon the demon! This board gets +2 quality points for every day that Volourn does not post.

Crap. Losing Kovalchuk is actually a big blow for the NHL. He might not be the best player or anything, but he sure can put on a show to please the crowd. I remember one game (can't remember against who) when the coach of the opposite team made the refs measure the curve on Kovalchuk's blade. It was deemed to be too steep and he was sent off the ice for 2 minutes. The second Kovalchuk got back on the ice, he got a quick pass, exploded into the offensive zone and made a spectacular goal (with his new stick). Then, instead of celebrating the goal, he skated back to the other teams bench, holding up and showing them the stick all the way past them. There were more than one guy on that bench that wanted to beat the **** out of him then. And that was during his rookie year! I love his attitude

Nope. It hasn't been released yet.

What is it about Apple products that make my brain go, "I MUST HAVE IT! RIGHT NOW!! NO MATTER THE COST!!1!" everytime I see them? For the record, I don't own anything Apple. Yet.

That list is woefully incomplete, and I wouldn't use it as reference for anything. There are LOTS of other games (on PC) that have sold more than 1 million copies, worldwide.

Mariusz Czerkawski, huh? That would be a good addition to the wing-clipped Leafs. Mariusz played a long time in Sweden before he joined the NHL. He used to be very good and a consistant goal scorer, and I always thought he was swedish. That is until he moved away for the NHL and they said he was polish. He speaks fluent swedish though, and back then he was dating an extremely pretty swedish actress/model.. I think he could put up some pretty decent numbers if he played with a good center. Seeing as half of Toronto's dressing room is made of quality centers, that won't be a problem (Sundin, Lindros, Allison).

I'm getting whichever reaches my store shelves first. If I'm lucky, I'll be getting both (review copy). I'll check the reviews around the net for these two though. I felt cheated when I bought NHL 2005 and Sega's NHL got much better reviews everywhere (and I felt NHL 2005 didn't quite impress me). According to Gamerankings: ESPN NHL 2k5: 86% average. NHL 2005: 77% average. Grr.

I think Terminator 2 is just as good as Terminator I think Lethal Weapon 2 is even better than Lethal Weapon I think Aliens (or Alien 2) is slightly better than Alien
