  1. Well, not really. I played it on my cousin's Xbox, and we basically played it together. He's a very straightforward guy, I guess, and doesn't exactly stop to smell the flowers along the way. We followed the main story (and some side quests, but probably not all) together and when it was all over the save file said some number between 13-15 hours. I don't remember the exact amount. But it was kind of perfect for my cousin (then he could get back to FIFA) while I felt it a bit on the short side.
  2. Actually, I'm just bitter that Jade Empire didn't live up to my own ridiculous expectations. I played the game late, after all the raving reviews from both players and reviewers (99% anyone?) and to me the game was a let-down. I was hoping for something along the lines of KotOR but with real time combat. What I got was.. something streamlined (it didn't feel like an RPG to me) that was pretty good dialogue/story wise, but was lacking in combat, customization (I like paper doll figures, damnit!) and.. er.. mini games (I even prefer pazaak before that shoot'em up game). Then, when the game ended after 13-15 hours, I didn't know if I should be happy or sad.
  3. Is there a normal difficulty? I don't think my cousin ever touched the difficulty setting (he usually plays FIFA and NHL). What I'd like is to see some skill involved. Some challenge! Some difficulty! It was so bad that whenever there was a fight, we handed the controller over to my cousin's 6 year old girlfriend's sister's daughter! She loved watching the little characters jumping around on the screen, all the while emitting the same sounds over and over. Can you honestly tell me that you were challenged during any combat parts of the game? Two words: jade golem.
  4. Right. I don't like american football because I don't understand it..
  5. The best part of this thread is when I read these Jade Empire fanboi's hack away at Bloodlines for having "crappy combat".. You must have done the combat in Jade Empire like me then: with my eyes shut, jumping around and listening to the sounds. When the SAME STUPID FIGHT SOUND stopped hurting my ears, I opened my eyes to see the fight won. Now do that a billion times over and dare say Jade Empire had good combat! Or maybe you fanboi's mean the parts where you turn into a spaceship and Bioware suddenly turn the 'rpg' into a shoot'em up? Well, it was a diversion.. unless it had been so poorly done that the frame rates dropped to single digits and TOTALLY ruined the experience anyhow. Perhaps Jade Empire is the best RPG you've played recently, but it's like.. if you're starved, even poop looks good.
  6. You know, if you participate in a survey like this in real life, you're usually awarded with something like a movie ticket. You guys need to get out more.
  7. Where did this seemingly unprovoked disgusting Biofanboi outburst come from..?
  8. I wouldn't mind seeing a Dark Alliance 3. I've had plenty of fun with both the other Dark Alliances (co-op is FUNNN), but I'd rather see Obsidian waste their talent on something more worthwhile than an actionpacked dungeon crawling lightweight RPG. (Of course, that might just be what they're working on right now.. we don't know yet)
  9. It happens to me too everytime I start a new thread. Not when I only post messages (replies or original messages), but new threads. All I do then is follow the tiny blue link on that page and it returns me to the forum index I last was in.
  10. The first week in universities in Sweden usually consist of something called "nollning" (no idea how to translate that). It's basically eating up all your time in the afternoons and evenings (weird games, stupid party's, lots of rituals and plenty of bonding) and at the same time you're trying to keep up with the first few courses. I am betting it'll be a few days until we see Kaftan again. Good luck, Kafty!
  11. Damn. I thought you guys were starting a thread about sports and it turned out to be about american football..
  12. "From Software producer Masanori Takeuchi, who's been working on Enchant Arm, a role-playing game slated to be an Xbox 360 launch title, said developers will also be running into issues of storage space in the next generation. While the Xbox 360 is a next-generation console, Microsoft decided to equip it with a normal DVD reader rather than give it HD-DVD or Blu-ray reading capabilities. 'The volume of data in Enchant Arms won't fit into a single DVD. It's an RPG, so we're thinking it would be inevitable that we release it on two discs," says Takeuchi. "But to be honest, that's even looking grim.' " Who was that bonehead again that tried to convince us all that the Xbox 360's normal DVD was actually a step in forward (into the future!!1) while the PS3's BluRay was crap and not useful for 10 years? A launch title for the Xbox 360 is having problems with space on TWO DVD's! Source: http://www.gamespot.com/news/2005/08/30/news_6132218.html
  13. Well, I guess asking for advice about hair colour on a nerd forum is a bit less obvious than going around shouting, "GUYS, GIVE ME ATTENTION!!1!" at least. But not much.

    Amerika

Because some of the other people reading this thread would get it. Hey, the finn started the bad humour (another finnish stereotype by the way), don't blame me!

    Amerika

Well, I only have two hands. So I guess I won't kill myself just yet, as surely you don't expect me to quit drinking my vodka. Anyway, you seem to have an excess of testosterone. How about you go donate a testicle or something? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Since people are stereotyping so heavily in this pathetic thread, I joked about the swedish stereotype of finns. I didn't expect you to get it so.. move along, nothing to see here.

Your logic fails to deliver. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> No, it makes perfect sense. How about you try to type a longer reply while drinking vodka and trying to kill yourself at the same time?!
  17. And this is the main reason americans get so aroused when we're discussing politics: you're confusing the industrial world's dislike for american foreign politics with some sort of unfounded hatred for the american people. That is not the case (and I have no clue where you get it from). Yes, we joke a lot about americans being fat, uneducated and having a taste for poor beer and odd sports. But not more than, for example, swedish people making fun of finnish people for being a humourless bunch, intent on killing themselves with a bottle of Koskenkorva in their hands. It's prejudice in a (mostly) harmless way.
  18. I'm slowly beginning to understand how you guys are able to play (seemingly) every single game out there, often on several different platforms too..
  19. Because I'm an idiot. But at least I'm a secret idiot )
  20. I must admit that those gameplay videos are mighty impressive looking. At least now it's back on my interest list.
  21. This just can't be right. I easily run 3 kilometers in under 12 minutes. My grandmom could do 50 situps. A lot of people can't do 50 pushups though (unless you don't have to do them all at once). Edit: Oh right, my secret. I once ended up in a fight when I did my army duty, and I got a 'lucky' shot on this guy who started the fight. My left fist rammed his face dead on (a split second after he had kicked my friend in the face) and we both fell over, he backwards and me forwards on top of him, so I basically slammed his head into the pavement. That effectively ended the fight and we ran back to the army grounds without checking to see if the guy was ok. I still don't know what happened to him, but I broke a bone in my hand.
  22. Apparently so did a bunch of rich americans too, because I read somewhere that they're planning to build another "Turning Torso" in the US, only like.. ten times bigger. I went to see it this summer. It stands alone in the harbour area of Malmoe and it looks mighty impressive from the ground. The entire area is designed around it, and everything is looking very futuristic and expensive. Of course, if you buy an apartment in the torso, a wine cellar (that holds 50 bottles) is included in the price. I guess that says a lot about the luxury level of the place.

  24. I still play Wasteland from time to time, but since I now know every password and secret in it by heart, it's not as exciting anymore. Still, a lot of fun and once in a (very) few while I dig up something new that I hadn't discovered before.
  25. I'm gone for a week and NOONE EVEN MENTIONS THE LEAFS WHILE I AM GONE?! Hethens. Anyhow, did anyone watch that silly Hockey Boxing Thingie they showed a short while ago? Featuring Link "The Missing Link" Gaetz.. If the new rules end up working as they should, that's where I predict the old-time enforcers will end up working instead. Which is fine with me, since I've never believed in fighting in hockey (I believe in better referees). Did anyone hear about the Zetterberg rumour? Someone said he might end up in Toronto.. for Alexander Steen. I'd love to have Zetterberg, but I'd hate to lose Steen. Steen (who is admittedly unproven in the NHL) is like a smaller, less talented version of Ovechkin.
