You're the only one talking about rabbits here. You accuse others of lack of knowledge. How about you gain the knowledge of reading comprehension..? Here you take into account the attributes of the character by saying mages get spell slots from intelligence.. ..and here you conveniently 'forgot' that THAC0 is dependant on dexterity. None of my warriors/rogues had THAC0 20. Volourn logic extravaganza! And how is admitting that my mages die to rats bragging? That's as dumb as saying "You keep bragging about your low intelligence by writing posts like this".
-
I just remember that if even so much as a rat nibbled on my mage he flopped over dead. He would not withstand a single hit from anything. Volourn keeps mentioning all these spells the mages have to choose from. What he fails to mention is that a level 1 mage has 4 spell slots to use (at least in 2E). Not much room for anything but sleep and magic missile, unless you're willing to rest after every battle.

Thanks for the colorized versions, Rhomal. You know.. those pictures sure does remind me alot of Gothic. And that is never a bad thing in my opinion I think I'm going to like Neverwinter Nights 2!

I think I might have found the original Obsidian quote here!!

I've always wondered about that guy. Every time I watch a game and he's calling it, the camera guys zoom in on his head whenever there is a pause in the game. And there's not a single hair in the wrong position! Not even after three full periods! That guy has amazing hair control

Last time I played a mage was in Pool of Radiance back in the eighties. D&D 2E for teh win!!1 Anyhow, I clearly remember my poor mage having four hitpoints! Four! And nothing but some sleep spells and perhaps a detect magic or something. Maybe a magic missile too (Can't really remember). Anyhow, if four hitpoints isn't wimpy then I don't know what is.

Maybe we won't be seeing those crappy pictures. But I bet that by Monday (when the Obsidian slaves get back under Feargus' whip) they will release them to us, the faithful board rats, in all their 1600x1200 splendor!

I guess it wasn't possible to play with two blockers after all: http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/news_story.asp?ID=137657&hubName=nhl

This argument must be the dumbest ever, and if the moderators can't see the trolling in this.. Geez. I mean, why keep naming top quality titles to a moron who will, regardless if he has played the game or not, claim it's bad? No matter which game you mention, the moron will still say it's bad.

But even you, cynical Hades, surely must admit that the videos look mighty impressive, Might & Magic or not!

That bicycle chain looks really odd.

I don't think Obsidian will have any problems staying afloat for the first couple of years at least. I'd imagine that KotOR2 sold pretty well and that Obsidian managed to get a good deal of funding from LucasArts. Then they have Neverwinter Nights 2 on the horizon. No matter what the outcome of that game is, it's going to sell like hotcakes. The license is so strong that fans will buy it in hordes before reading a single review. After that.. Well, I guess that depends on what Obsidian (Feargus?) wants to do. They could risk it by releasing their own IP every now and then, or continue to make high profile games for other companies for a very long time. For some reason, I don't think the safe route is what Feargus would choose. I honestly expect to see Obsidian bloom out completely once they release their first independently created title. Who knows, it might even become the next mythic Planescape: Torment rival! They have the talent and experience..

Pro Evolution Soccer has been lots better than FIFA in the last.. 4 or 5 years or so. Even EA has admitted this, and FIFA 2006 is almost an exact copy of Pro Evolution Soccer 4, but with higher production values and the coveted FIFA license. I just wish FIFA would be smart enough to sell that license to both Konami and EA. PES feels like a superior game, but you have to either download the correct rosters or create them yourself (there are like 3000 named players so it might take a while). EA doesn't play as well, doesn't move as well and doesn't handle the ball as well, but you can even play any team from the swedish crap leagues and every player has the correct name and statistics.

Dragonshard has been getting pretty good reviews thus far though. I don't see why it couldn't sell? Maybe it hasn't hit the stores everywhere yet? 8.5/10 isn't bad at all, and from the review it sounded pretty interesting to me. Kind of like Spellforce (which I liked). Comhem in student apartments..? That sound awfully odd. I thought all dorms were connected to Sunet. In Uppsala it's horrid. The admins are like the Gestapo; they have everything under complete control and it's dead difficult to connect to anything! Not even MSN works properly. I guess it's because they don't want people using DC or Torrent, but it turns everything to crap. Also, it's a very unfair system. They've divided the city into big blocks and each block is given a 1 Gbit connection. But my block is 1800 people big and the block only a few steps from my apartment is 300 people sharing 1 Gbit! Oh well. They're planning to change it.. within a few years.. like 10 or so..

Baldurs Gate with Jade Empire-style Graphics
mkreku replied to GhostofAnakin's topic in Computer and Console
Of course it would be possible to make a Baldur's Gate with Jade Empire's engine (ugh) or (much better) the Source engine. A good game is a good game, no matter the engine (unless the engine manages to suck the fun out of a game, like the Infinity Engine did). I can only imagine the game being better and more immersive within a fully rendered 3D world. Havok physics added to the equation doesn't exactly make things worse either. Technology has moved forward a lot, now all we need is for one of these top developers to take advantage of it all and create a similarly lovingly crafted game as Baldur's Gate with the new and improved technology that is still practically unexploited by the RPG developers today (Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines being the exception). -

Ok, to believe that story I think we need to see a picture of Rachel.. Edit: Damn! A bulgarian Jedi crammed himself in between my post and Allan's. And Allan decided to remove his love-sick post about Rachel too, so now my post makes no sense whatsoever! Gaah!

So tell us more about the program! How doy ou live? Dorm room? What kind of internet access did they give you? I'm connected to Sunet and we're like.. 1800 people sharing one 1 Gbit connection. It gets pretty slow during daytime! But when night comes.. I RULE TEH UNIVERSE!!1 Oh, and how many hot girls do you have in your class?

Hahaha, this is almost too cool! It makes me want to start playing World of Warcraft again! Also, it reminds me of the diseases I used to pick up in Wasteland.. damn cheap hookers.
