Actually, I read Microsoft had 17% interest not so long ago. Last time we discussed this I think.. Still a good jump from 17% to 25%. Edit: Stupid annoying syntax.

Which console has ever had a GPU that was NOT "custom built" for it..? The PS3 also has a "custom built" GPU. The CPU in the Xbox 360 is a PowerPC triple core processor. You and the Microsoft team might see that as a huge step forward, but I am sure the rest of the world sees it as pretty minor. Especially when compared to the CELL. I am assuming that the "groundbreaking" feature in the GPU you are referring to is the unified shaders. I'm impressed with ATI too, but I sure want to see them function in a lot of different games before I start naming them groundbreaking. Nvidia is (naturally) very sceptical of this new technology, although I suspect that ATI may be right in that unified shaders are the future. Still, too early to tell. Just like Blu-Ray is too early to tell if it's a step forward or a big bust.

This is a game I'm waiting for. Please, oh mighty review gods, let it be me who gets to review it )

I thought the decision to try and launch the console all over the world at almost the same time was one of the good decisions made by the Xbox 360 team. No, it has never been done before, which is why it's so impressive if they pull it off. I'm betting it'll be worth the hassle once the entire world is grabbed by the same hype on almost the same day (well, same month).

Yes! The Leafs finally won one! And it was against the much hyped Flyers, nonetheless! Apparently Mikael Tellquist was excellent in goal, Eric Lindros is starting to look like the Lindros from the Legion of Doom period again and Alexander Steen continues to produce in the young line (Wellwood, Stajan and Steen). It was so long since the Leafs last won something, I had forgotten how good it feels )

When will you ever understand the point of this debate.. It's like trying to explain Shakespeare to a rock. Noone has said DVD's are obsolete now (except for you putting words in everyone elses mouths). But the fact is that one DVD is not enough space for some games even when the Xbox360 launches. Unless Microsoft is planning on releasing a new Xbox every year, the DVD player in the Xbox360 is going to become completely obsolete within a year or two after release. A console is supposed to have at least a 5 year life cycle. We'll see in a couple of years how clever it was to stick with DVD..

Oh yeah, there was a rumour that this huge sports channel called Eurosport was trying to purchase the rights to show NHL games. I didn't believe it when I read about it, because usually that channel shows stuff like.. curling.. horse polo.. snooker.. and assorted other really ridiculous sports. Apparently they're trying to redeem themselves, as they've begun taking their MMA shows seriously and they might start showing NHL. Lucky me moved to a new apartment 4 months ago that does not have access to Eurosport..

I'm divided. I don't like the newer Final Fantasy games (I liked the first few) because of the turn based combat and the fact that every map feels like a totally uninteractive corridor. I did, however, like a game I played recently called Ys: The Ark of Napisthim. It's kind of a 3D version of 2D Zelda.. Hard to explain, but I liked it. Since I own a PS2 and 99% of all RPG's released for that console are JRPG's, I'm trying to adjust. It's not easy as most of them are, quite frankly, crap.

I had to go to bed early last night, so I just woke up to see the results this morning. I guess I should be pretty used to Hasek & Co. beating on my poor defensless, Sundin-less Leafs by now.. But I must say it kind of sucks that we're supposed to meet Ottawa five times more this season! I mean, where's the excitement if you've lost the first three meetings? It feels like, "Cool, no use watching anymore games because I already know we're not going to make the playoffs this year because we keep meeting the same ****ing team from the same conference for the billionth time and they always win". At least Ovechkin scored again.

Well.. It is possible to play Gothic in first person view.. if you enjoy being seasick. So no, Gothic & Gothic 2 are mainly played in third person view. That's the default and the games were designed for third person.

In Final Fantasy 1 & 2 on the Gameboy Advance you had to mill to level. The challenges in the game outgrew you fast if you 'solved' the main quest too quickly, and you had to fight pointlessly to gain experience before moving on to more difficult areas.
