NoooOOOoooOOOooo...

Haha, I thought the same thing, but I didn't bother to write it out

Do NOT compare those screenshots to the ones from Gothic 3 :| That's all I am saying.

You get to spend one attribute point and one skill point per level. Since the gamne automatically gives you lots more than that per level, your own points become pretty much a moot point. Not until you've gone pretty far into the game do you even get to choose the mission you want to partake in. And even then you're forced to go through every available mission eventually, just in the order you yourself choose. There are dialogue options, but nothing ever changes when you click on the options you get, making them pointless unless you want to hear every character's personal story. There's no exploration, no character development (well, barely) and you have no influence on the story. Still it's called a RPG.

Microsoft is trying to make money from people needing patches for their games. That sucks, plain and simple. No matter what Nintendo or Sony comes up with; as long as it's free, it's better than Microsoft's greedy online service.

Holy crap, I just looked at the results tonight and I noticed that my favourite rookie this year (Ovechkin) has 3 goals and 1 assist against Pittsburgh! Holy crap. I hope you guys have him in your pool. Edit: I am drunk.

Great voice cast for new Wild West GTA game
mkreku replied to Jumjalum's topic in Computer and Console
I wouldn't say GTA: San Andreas is a RPG, but the weird thing is that I ended up playing it as one. There's the very linear main quest where you're just solving mission after mission until you end the game. But then there are lots and lots of 'side-quests' where you're free to do anything you want (basically) and take your time to focus on developing your character. I've spent a lot more than 100 hours in San Andreas (and I still have it installed and play it occasionally) and most of those hours have probably been me just zooming around the landscape, trying to find new things, solving side-quests or just doing stunts and stuff. -
I have a friend who is afraid of heights. I tried to get him to play Unreal Tournament but he got physically ill when falling from towers and such that he couldn't play it. So instead I sent him my review copy of UrU, but even that game had heights at some parts so my mother (!) had to come and help him pass over the worsts views. Hilarious. And that's (part of) what I call immersion!

So having to turn around in real life hurts your immersion in the real world then?

'Nice' to see the Oilers getting a little pre-season anxiety too. 0-5 against the Flames can't feel too good. )

Seriously, in Pool of Radiance you could very well run into that gang of trolls at level 1. Which is why it was a dead hard fight. Also, I remember getting those damn trolls unconscious, but not being able to finish them off with melee, which is when the magic missile came in so handy. Because it never misses it was perfect to use for the killing stroke, before the damn trolls regenerated enough to get back up on their feet again.

Oh yeah, looking down through the roof of a building on your party of 6, now that's immersion!!1 Even better if the max resolution is 640x480 and the characters are represented by sprites instead of polygons!!1!oneone

I'd turn her down. My girlfriend would kill me otherwise.

I just remember (from my poor Pool of Radiance again) that whenever I fought anything but goblins or humans, the sleep spell was rendered useless. As melee was totally out of the question and my puny mages had to stay in the back, magic missile seemed like a good choice for at least dealing some damage. Does anyone remember that small gang of trolls you met in the maze in the slums of New Phlan..? Dead hard fight, as trolls are difficult to melee to death (they auto-regenerate hitpoints), which is when magic missiles were pretty damn useful.

I loved the isometric view. But then I discovered the immersion factor of 3D worlds and I've never looked back.

I don't need an alarm clock. I have an extremely annoying morning person of a girlfriend.

We have a few players like that in Sweden too. The difference is that the coaches of those players are very keen on keeping those guys away from the journalists. Sometimes one or two slip through (Magnus Wernblom and Jonathan Hedstr

Well, since that girl looks fantastic I am suuuure the game will be fantastic too, because that's the way it works in the real world. Honest.

How can they say that no new species are being developed by mutation? Of course, an ape doesn't mutate over a day and become a donkey! But small mutations are common. They're even used to get new colours in flowers. Just breed a million roses in a field, and you're bound to get a few differently coloured roses.

I did a small check-up on some of the registered developers on this board: Aaron Meyers: Total Cumulative Posts 1, Last Active 14th July 2004 - 09:58 PM Adam Brennecke: Total Cumulative Posts 46, Last Active Today, 05:48 PM AnthonyD: Total Cumulative Posts 24, Last Active 6th March 2005 - 09:37 PM Brian Lawson: Total Cumulative Posts 140, Last Active 21st September 2005 - 03:33 PM Brian Menze: Total Cumulative Posts 21, Last Active 10th February 2005 - 11:13 PM campbell: Total Cumulative Posts 2, Last Active 10th July 2004 - 01:51 AM Chris Avellone: Total Cumulative Posts 144, Last Active 2nd August 2005 - 02:43 AM Chris Jones: Total Cumulative Posts 19, Last Active 10th August 2005 - 09:53 PM Chris Parker: Total Cumulative Posts 0, Last Active 15th September 2005 - 09:33 PM Darren Monahan: Total Cumulative Posts 0, Last Active 8th February 2004 - 01:50 AM Dennis Presnell: Total Cumulative Posts 27, Last Active Today, 06:16 PM dspitzley: Total Cumulative Posts 5, Last Active 2nd August 2004 - 09:32 PM elacabanne: Total Cumulative Posts 1, Last Active 2nd August 2004 - 07:11 PM Erik Novales: Total Cumulative Posts 87, Last Active 28th February 2005 - 11:14 PM Ferret: Total Cumulative Posts 216, Last Active 21st January 2005 - 05:59 PM FrankK: Total Cumulative Posts 262, Last Active 11th July 2005 - 06:10 PM Jason Keeney: Total Cumulative Posts 53, Last Active Yesterday, 10:54 PM John Morgan: Total Cumulative Posts 205, Last Active 23rd September 2005 - 06:46 PM kone: Total Cumulative Posts 13, Last Active 10th September 2005 - 11:17 PM McBaine: Total Cumulative Posts 6, Last Active 6th August 2004 - 09:57 PM Michael Chu: Total Cumulative Posts 88, Last Active 25th September 2005 - 11:36 PM Nathaniel Chapman: Total Cumulative Posts 13, Last Active Yesterday, 11:08 AM squish: Total Cumulative Posts 0, Last Active 10th February 2004 - 12:31 AM Tim Cox: Total Cumulative Posts 9, Last Active 19th January 2005 - 10:09 PM These names are, strangely enough, the only ones I was able to find. Akari and Feargus Urquhart, among others, were nowhere to be found. Apparently the rest of the developers belong to a group called Developers+, which is not searchable. If I manually find a post by Akari/Feargus and click on their respective name I get this though: Akari: Total Cumulative Posts 459, Last Active 8th September 2005 - 01:45 AM Feargus Urquhart: Total Cumulative Posts 161, Last Active 9th June 2005 - 05:24 PM Seven of the developers have been active in the last week, which is good. Unfortunately I haven't seen any of their posts, but I might be blind. Still, the board feels deserted. I remember Feargus considering closing the board down a while back, but for some reason he let it live on. Does the lack of Obsidian posts imply that the board has been deemed 'dead' to Obsidian developers and they keep it here without really caring about it? Did they give up on it and moved on to somewhere else? I remember Feargus did take part in some of the threads in the beginning, but apparently he stopped doing this during the summer. Why? Is this board on life support (bioboards) until Neverwinter Nights 2 has been released, at which point we'll be discussing Project New Jersey here instead? Or did Feargus secretly 'pull the plug' on this board back in the summer..? SO MANY QUESTIONS, SO FEW ANSWERS! Should we too move on to greener pastures?

I bet he's popular with the girls.

Aaiieeh! I am old.

Uhm.. Actually, Blob is in the first X-men Legends.. Not sure which part you're referring to though.

I might have to mention that my only knowledge of D&D 2E comes from playing Pool of Radiance in 1988.. My memory might be a bit rusty ) But I do know that my THAC0 was never 20 for my fighters or rogues.
