So there I was with a huge stack of potions and scrolls when I all I needed was one spell (gaze of the adragan) to steamroll everything...I came out of that fight with barely a scratch All in all I've enjoyed PoE lots but by the end I definitely started to get bored with the combat, there's no ramping up of complexity beyond a certain point. The main story was decent and has given me a few things to contemplate but it didn't grab my balls like PS:T or Morrowind. The companions I chose were mostly memorable, Durance and Aloth I found especially amusing but I'd have liked more meat to their quests...all the companion quests felt a bit light really. The ending was good and had some satisfying slides but I'm mostly glad it's over, sixty hours is a long time to grind through samey combat for the sake of the story.

I decided to push on to the final battle in PoE and had my ass utterly handed to me over and over. Ended up going back a few saves to level up some more and craft about a billion paralyse scrolls.

Sounds similar to the revolutionary rhetoric over on the Bethsoft forums...you'd think they just freed a third world country from the yoke of a tyrant.

Ditto, though I dare say you've done more than me

I hope they implement a donation system instead...

I can see a few positives to this but I feel very wary, especially given valve's massive cut. A more noble solution would be to replace it with optional donations, maybe the outrage will push things in that direction.

Oh oh...ohhhhh goood that looks nice....i have a hard time not getting excited and must remember myself that Total War games usually launch as a buggy mess. Please be good, please be good I bought Shogun 2 a few months after building a pretty damn cutting edge PC, it was a horrible, slow, ugly mess...And yet I still hope this turns out ok, fingers crossed I suppose.

I recently built a PC for a friend of mine just so he can play GTA V, he got the game yesterday and played until 5am, hooked

I went through Blackreach one time with the lights on. After exiting a Dwemer ruin door, I turned right around and entered Blackreach again ... suddenly all the lights were on in the whole cavern. I could see everywhere, no darkness. If it was a bug, it was the best ever ... that place is freakin' inky black. Yeah I've had that happen, Blackreach is actually an outdoor cell and sometimes daytime lighting triggers when you leave a Dwemer ruin.

Skyrim keeps calling me back even though I've seen 90% of everything. At least once a week I get the impulse to install an Elder Scrolls game...I sometimes think I've got an addiction

Bought some shorts...damn they feel weird when you haven't worn any in forever

Star Trek did something for me but I felt it lacked the introspective spirit of classic trek. I like to think some of the greybeards also working on Star Wars will restrain him, the trailer felt right at least, more than either of the new trek movies did to me.

I know that feeling. The only way I can get past that starting indecisiveness is to create a cookie-cutter hero-type (Paladin, usually) and decide that since I'm going to be replaying the game multiple times anyway, might as well explore the obligatory "fight baddies, rescue maidens" path first. Shockingly enough, I've managed to avoid starting indecisiveness, which I am prone to, with Pillars. I made Beefstick the Barbarian and 56+ hours later I've never looked back. No metagaming either, I've been making decisions and living with the consequences, even if I have a change of heart moments later. That's been my experience too. Rolled a mage without much care, ploughed straight into the game and lived with pretty much every consequence.

So apparently the game outputs at 59hz causing stutters if you like 60hz vsync...I'm sure it'll be fixed but damn, things like that annoy me
-
How about general smoothness, anyone seeing loading stutter or weird framerate issues?
-
You're not alone, as much as I enjoy the game there's only so many times you can queue up the same actions before fatigue sets in. I'll have put about 60 hours in by the end though, not to be sniffed at considering I don't find the combat very thrilling.

Got my PoE box and it's all very splendid and mighty but it does feel a bit empty. A big fat manual or some kind of art book would have helped but compared to something like the New Vegas collectors edition it seems pointlessly huge. At least the shirt fits and the mouse pad is decent
-
I just hope it doesn't have stutter/streaming issues like console ports always seem to have.

Drove to find a local neolithic stone circle and got caught in some pretty awful weather. We eventually found it and spent all of ten minutes freezing our **** off before heading home, screw your fancy stones and mud.

I've had some terrible sleeping patterns. The worst example is when I was broke and living in a ****ty building full of nutcases, I'd go to sleep at 4pm and wake up at 12am just to avoid having to speak to anyone, this went on for a year or more...the weird thing is I sometimes feel nostalgic about it Nowadays I tend to get 6-7 hours a night but I think 8 is my sweet spot, beyond 10 hours and I wake up feeling pretty awful. My biggest sin is staying up too late and sleeping til lunchtime, I do that whenever possible.

I especially like it when notes have clues to help you find some loot or alternate quest paths, I love me some notes.

I reached Twin Elms a couple of days ago but life is getting in the way. I'll probably plough my way through the end of the game next week but I've left so much stuff to do and read on the replay. Really though I can't finish the game until I learn everything about Waidwen and the Godhammer bomb, dunno why but that bit of lore intrigues me.
