  1. No way would I have killed Horrigan without leg shots
  2. Dunno if the game will suck but I love the vibe.
  3. At least now they can't pointlessly insert him into another reboot movie, unless he already filmed footage... Seriously though, another piece of my childhood just went to the great beyond, RIP.
  4. Successfully resurrected it and then gave Obsidian a chance to improve it...Bastards!
  5. Grim Fandango Remastered currently. It's a shame they couldn't find the original backdrops but all the small improvements add up to a really nice experience, I've seen it said that it's the game as you remember it rather than the one it was, sounds about right to me.
  6. Having a lot of fun with Shadow Warrior (2013) after I solved various tech problems. I'm constantly frustrated by otherwise good PC releases being plagued with stutter and performance issues, it's a damn good job I almost always wait for sales. I'd recommend this game if you currently have low expectations of absolutely everything and want to be pleasantly surprised. I didn't expect the swordplay to be much fun but hacking the living **** out of things feel so good, the plot is also entertaining in a comic book way. I play Bethesda games for the experience of wandering a vaguely believable world, they really do that stuff quite well. Story-wise Morrowind is the only one that utterly yanked my nuts off with a rope made of excellence, no nostalgia involved as I first played it in 2010.
  7. Any tips on great mods you can recommend so that I can forget about them just in time for my next playthrough in a few years? Umm, off the top of my head... http://gtaforums.com/topic/669045-iiivcsaasi-silentpatch/ - hundreds of bugfixes http://thirteenag.github.io/widescreen_fixes_pack - fixes the resolution and UI http://gtaforums.com/topic/750681-relsa-ps2-post-processing-and-car-reflections-on-pc/ - enables missing effects. http://gtaforums.com/topic/526235-relasisa-ginput/ - xbox 360 pad support, with rumble. They all use .ASI files, which you just drop into the root game folder.
  8. Currently playing through GTA San Andreas with all the fan patches and improvements installed. Running it at 1080p 60fps is pretty stunning compared to how it ran on my PC all those years ago, had a couple of timing glitches with the rhythm games but you can work around it. I never was crazy about the Boyz n the Hood stuff but I think I can appreciate it now, maybe this time I'll actually get CJ out of there.
  9. Sorry to hear that LadyC, when dealing with death I've found family and friends always help, even if it's just a little.
  10. My backlog of games is so vast that the delay doesn't bother me, it also gives me more time to upgrade whatever needs upgrading to play the damn thing
  11. Another day same as the last day same as the day to come...I need a drink. I want something like this, only, I will use it on everyone that decides not to obey me. I had no idea Deus Ex was a misogynist abuse simulator. All games are misogynist abuse simulators now.
  12. Last night I went to see Jeff Wayne's War of The Worlds in Manchester. It's the farewell tour so I thought I'd push myself out of my comfort zone, good job I did because it was a great show. Missing the train home, freaking out and having to pay a fortune for a taxi was less than great but it's all part of the experience
  13. Splurged quite a bit so far with Tomb Raider, Stick of Truth, Walking Dead Season 2 and Brigmore Witches DLC for Dishonored. One day I might actually play them
  14. Yeah all the rocks and trees really do go way, wayyyy below ground in Morrowind, super inefficient. I suppose some areas do lag a bit even on a modern computer, the Dren Plantation is quite a kick in the nuts for the engine, 99% of the time though it's perfectly smooth
  15. Morrowind responds really well on modern computers, not a hint of lag or sluggishness for me. Perhaps try installing Morrowind Graphics Extender, even if you don't want to extend the view distance (which it does really well) there are plenty of options and optimizations for modern PCs.
  16. This is pretty much the only game I play on my phone
  17. He seems much more impressed after spending some actual time in the game.
  18. This game still makes me want a new graphics card even if the reviews have cooled my jets a little. I'm starting to wonder if I should stop reading things before games come out, try and begin with as few preconceptions as possible...but then that could become a bit of an OCD situation where I rabidly avoid all contact with websites and people I like for weeks, bah.
  19. I'm chewing my way through Fallout 3 (oh god the crashes) for the first time since New Vegas came out. It's weird because I'm seeing assets as being lifted from New Vegas rather than vice versa, it's as if Fallout 3 were a more polished but mechanically stripped down sequel to New Vegas. As much as I love the game it's really hard to ignore the inept dialogue, I don't remember it being quite this bad but Skyrim is masterful by comparison. The world design is top notch though, the most explorable game world I've played and the whole of DC is essentially a colossal dungeon linked up by convoluted subways full of hidden stuff. Love that music too, expanded with mods of course I think I've just about played enough Skyrim to permanently damage my mental health and I've still not seen it all, that Falskaar mod looks pretty cool too..
  20. Eurogamer give the game an 8 but the review reads like a 6 or 7
  21. I'm not as harsh on video game remakes as I am movies, it's easy to watch a movie from 50 years ago compared to the effort of making a ten year old game work properly. Most of these remasters are genuine classics so at the very least it puts them back in the public eye and maybe generates interest in gameplay styles that got bulldozed by first person shooters.
  22. I remember feeling the same but by the end of the game I was throwing Faith around like a ninja
  23. Got my boxed copy here in the UK. It has that new game smell that I remember from big boxes with thick manuals, really nice, the cloth map is more of a handkerchief map though
  24. I'm getting much better performance after the patch
  25. You're not alone, I've had to crank down most of the visual settings to get a smooth framerate and my PC should wipe the floor with it, shadows were the biggest hit.
