NO voiced main characters in a non-preset character game (witcher) is almost a must for me as developers dont know how to do it properly. Ommamar stated the reasons why perfectly. In true rpgs tone, character type and appropriate dialogue are a must. Its one of the core principles of actual rpgs. Fallout 4 got it perfectly wrong!

Inhaler slots

as a guy who despises games allowing gamers to pause the game and go into their menus during combat, i absolutely love it! the option to go into your menu is still there, but, for immersive gamers like myself, the in-game MECHANIC is much welcomed. -
1.) absolutely. unbelievable oversight. 2.) superficial fluff is fine but never at the cost of...gameplay. i will never understand this fixation so many gamers have now for being able to customize their characters to such a high degree and be able to look at them in-game as if that is more important than... gameplay 3.) sure, whatever 4.) absolutely. though, people will cry about that too. increased difficulty via option customization and better a.i. is always welcomed 5.) sure, whatever 6.) no. unless, by default, you will NOT be able to play the game in 3rd. superficial character viewing only!

Am I missing something?
thearmourofGod replied to Threat's topic in The Outer Worlds: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
Yes. You dont like, know how to play or know what makes up an actual rpg. Your entire post confirms that truth. -
It is a AAA via all the actual gameplay components. Unfortunately, fools have controlled the terminology and descriptions of what makes a so-called AAA game. The result is a world full of “gamers” and industry members who are so dimwitted and sheepafied that they think money spent, graphics, accessibility, voice-acting and the like are what constitute a “AAA” game.

When those games change nothing on replay i agree: skyrim. I have played multiple characters with completely different skillsets for a few hours each in the first area and the actual varying gameplay is obvious. Thats why content locks, alternating choice/consequence, customization, restricted/quality dialogue content and deep rpg mechanics are what make an actual rpg. Thats why The Outer Worlds is a true rpg. -

as others have clearly said pick one and perfect it otherwise both are mediocre as beth games, rdr and others have proven -
Difficulty is tied to “survival” and basic needs in this game. And i like it. Though, i want MORE “survival” and i want it MORE difficult: limited inventory, severe weight restrictions, severe looting restrictions, increased negative consequences, limited food, limited wealth, limited availability, limited loot, limited resources, zero handholding, etc..

flat-out FALSE Ive been making multiple characters with completely different skillsets and playing them for about 6-10 hours each: they do NOT even have close to the same gameplay. And thats only dealing with the generic point allocations in the first area with limited customization that we know opens up more later. looks like you just inadvertantly told many of us that you dont know how to make different and diverse characters in an rpg well-done

Kill the red arrows
thearmourofGod replied to MrRocknRoll's topic in The Outer Worlds: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
I completely agree. In this day and age all games such as this should have very in-depth customizable huds and gameplay options. Due to this huge error on their part i must play without any hud, which, only further proves how non-customizable the options really are. Being forced to see where enemies are at all times and their awareness levels is unbelievably ridiculous, especially, when combined with idiot hud “customization.” Thief 4 did a very good job of getting it right in both areas. -
Great game, too short
thearmourofGod replied to BionicKitten's topic in The Outer Worlds: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
Thus, proving those pc gamers dont know a great rpg when its in front of their faces, as well as, not knowing how to properly play an rpg. ie. fast-travel, dialogue skipping, main quest primarily, running around paying attention to nothing in the gameworld and speed playing, etcetcetc This game isnt even close to “short” unless you are a twitch gamer who is purposefully attempting to get to the end as fast as possible through all various means allowed. As well, their hypocrisy/lies/dimwittedness are proven since those same “gamers” will rate the super short rpgs of previous eras (fallout1 for example) as GOAT. -
