  1. yes, thats what my experimentation has concluded, as well...at low levels however, that applies to the regular version, as well the unique costs, per upgrade were only slightly and exponentially greater than the normal version unless, that cost continues to become greater at higher levels and, therefore, unequal with the normal counterpart at high levels, i dont understand the debate lol, of course, ill know myself soon as i reach those higher levels shortly
  2. hub-style and nearby enemy placement means a large radius would equal oblivionesque enemy queues following the pc across the entire hub, lol
  3. huh? the stealth system is unbelievably ez as for, enemy aggros, ya, you need to kill single targets that are not near other enemies but, yes, you can sneak-kill multiple targets of a group; just not in the braindead way of beth games which, i actually like as im tired of the idiot mechanic where sneak-kill do not alert their nearby comrades and/or relax after a short period of time * serious question here because i absolutely do NOT understand the mentality: why do people WANT the game to tell you when you are hidden??
  4. save-scumming is an obvious way to lower difficulty having said that, the lack of in-depth gameplay and hud customization are my biggest peeves in gaming! for example, i would absolutely turn ON supernova (customized pc/enemy bullet-sponge ratios with a slider) with perma-death, companion perma, encumbrance limitations, limited saving (no scumming), no fast travel, etc.. as well, for arguments sake- almost all games cater to the other side of the debate: i almost ALWAYS am forced to implement superficial self-imposed restrictions with no in-game mechanic the more pre-game options the better
  5. from reading people on this forum it looks like the unique system isnt implemented correctly and its not only that you were overleveled but they are all quickly overshadowed by the next tier normal version, available too late, cost too much even when available and have the supposed overpriced tincker issue if you need to do speed runs (including at each new hub) to grab a unique quickly and early to make it reasonably viable for a short time then the system is greatly flawed
  6. i happened to be checking out the uniques i have right now and read your post: it certainly looks as if the EKit is significantly more damaging than its regular counterpart for me, it seems time when available, cost to buy and, supposedly, tinckering cost (at low levels ive experimented and the uniques are NOT much more expensive to tincker) are the issues as well as, more dam/dps is just plain weak as a “unique” characteristic as, imo, uniques should be unique in a significant way
  7. L7 @ 14 hrs and havent finished emerald vale no hud, no help, thorough exploration 4 uniques supernova
  8. this is not an open-world game; its hub-style im only on terra2 but there are autosave spots EVERYwhere and they are all close i love the forced, in-game mechanic that eliminates save-scumming as for difficulty, i want it harder with more survival mechanics and harsher in-game consequences
  9. im playing a melee character on supernova and there is no way you 1-hit everything at the beginning its difficult just to survive all of those dang apes next to the ship in emerald vale at low levels using parvatis destroyer ability was crucial many times early on, especially, when those same gorillaz turned into n-ray respawns playing without a HUD and not having psychic compass ridiculousness makes this especially true
  10. i am playing supernova and just declined the physical damage flaw ill go check and see if somehow my game got switched off of supernova (it would explain how ez the game has gotten, lol) ...still on supernova also, just tested it with falling and declined Acrophobia on supernova
  11. unfortunately, nothing, nada its all foolishly tied together like almost every other console-based game in existence THIS subject is my #1 issue with gaming, along, with Gameplay customization therefore, this is what i did: played thru the beginning parts of the game multiple times with all hud and tutorials on and spending my time learning the basic mechanics and getting used to them then, i simply turned off the hud and started a new game thankfully, it doesnt take long to get used to the mechanics and, now, im enjoying a wonderful, hud-free RPG! *Console Gaming
  12. always love in-depth companion quests always hate all rpg “romance” especially, the shallow, adolescent bio/beth junk *KC:D! the game i was playing right before TOW! cant wait to get back to it after my second run...
  13. for me, its very simple: custom huds, custom play I will go even further and say that Supernova is too ez Thief4 is a great example and good start at how to properly begin to address this long-neglected component of gaming lol, better a.i. (AND optional bullet spongue choices) goes without saying, since, weve been yelling for it for decades
  14. are you saying that at higher levels the formula i described above does not hold true? in other words, at higher levels: the discrepancy between tinckering identical level uniques and their normal alternate becomes greater? because if thats true, then, obsidian purposefully chose to implement a mechanic that only exasperates the flawed and subpar (tho, no weaker than other rpgs and sandbox games) system
  15. i think TOW2 will be a very revealing game to us all for future console-based obsidian games
  16. i hear what you are saying, but, all you have to do is go back to the original posts in the proper order lol, yes, it became a 1up but nothing wrong with that until I started being specifically targeted ”lol @ asexuality” he commented on that comment by telling me to search BEFORE posting a RESPONSE. thats unbelievably foolish. he also attempted to direct my future comments. thats unbelievably inappropriate. im a grown man with a family and to have some internet yo start attempting to do such things is ridiculous; its why i also involved my family, so as, to use it as a teaching moment nothing i said was horrible or out of line, yet, he tried to then switch the subject to me, as if, i had done something wrong, while, simultaneously, adjusting his stance on the “my opinion is valid” debate. lol, of course, he is entitled to his “opinion.” of course, his natural reaction/opinion is valid at the time he has it. My comments had nothing to do with that since that would be ridiculous on MY part. That wouldve been illogical on MY part. Thats why i purposefully stated that his opinion could be proven false based on my intent. That answer has nothing to do with the restated twist he attempted to apply. again, HE responded to me. HE didnt like my comment and for some foolish reason thought it appropriate to make the subsequent comment. It was not. then it turned into the typical internet comment banter, lol, though, very tame in reality. no big
  17. you think poorly implemented voiced dialogue choices are acceptable game mechanics oh, wait, you want to argue your logical fallacy: you enjoy average sandbox shooters full of repetitive and shallow gameplay lol, u tell me
  18. yep what they do from there is very much dependent upon what setting you have them on as O said, having them, on passive/defensive is the key: if you want to micromanage then that is very much possible if you continue to direct them if micromanaging isnt what you want then aggressive/defensive is the key want to get your companion instantly near you or attacking a specific target: hit special move! an aspect im still trying to completely figure out is the distance you set your companion from yourself and figuring out their gameplay tendencies
  19. console gamers have been screaming for better a.i., enemy tactics, etc. for 2 decades and it still hasnt improved much at all as for TOW on supernova i dont find it to be so much an issue of enemy bullet spongue as i can kill any single enemy rather quickly its more of them as a group kicking my boot fast for me, TOW supernova is more tactical v group mobs
  20. lol illogical lying hypocrite pansy typical snowflake blaming someone else for your inappropriate actions
  21. you can set companions to offensive or defensive and can direct them to specific locations and when and whom to attack or recall they have special moves that you can access immediately during combat which comes with a cooler timer before next use on supernova, with a leadership build and appropriately tinckered gear companions are a force and do not have to be baby sat and they can survive even on aggressive mode proper weapon choice v enemies is paramount
  22. good grief people your “opinion” was based on my comment. mine. i know what i meant. as well, it was clearly stated. your opinion about my comment was incorrect as told to you by me, the person who made the comment again, to say that your opinion cant be wrong because, lol its an “opinion” is illogical. so stop trying to justify yourself behind a falsehood lol, btw, i made a comment and YOU complained YOU attempted to dictate my comments i dont have to interpret your intent at all since you clearly stated your point this is about YOU not liking my initial post so dont try and switch and wiggle the subject around towards me again, all i did was answer the question posed and i gave my reason why in a quick to the point way nobody needs to research before giving their answer to a question; you got it backwards attempting to direct/dictate someone elses comments on an internet discussion board is ridiculous especially since your inappropriate comment was in response to, the oh so horrible, ”lol @ asexuality”
  23. KnightNine- Hardcore self-imposed restrictions in skyrim and other rpgs (in truth, all games where applicable) is definitely not for everyone. However, many others love it as i do. In fact, on consoles, i have a very hard time enjoying games due to their shallow gameplay, handholding, dumbing-down and lack of in-game consequences and rpg mechanics and so as with TOW i play out the beginning parts of the game to get a good feel for the game and then, off with the HUD and in with my restrictions so that i can enjoy the game. Having done it for so long its just the norm and automatic, simple and easy to implement. Having exposed people to this style of gaming for well over a decade and seeing their thankful responses and gratitude (just as i had) i continue onward. As i learned from the beginning, start with a few basic, common-sense rules amd go from there. *console gaming
