bronzepoem replied to LittleArmadillo0's topic in The Outer Worlds: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)As I saw in the trailer, the dumb options seems more like “naive”,not fallout style "dumb".

Baldur's Gate 2 > PoE 2 Deadfire
bronzepoem replied to Walkyr's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)Just because BG2 have much more content than POE2.More companions, more quests, more maps.POE2 is a small game.

Hopefully POE3 will do a better job of side quest/main story pacing and integration
Poor Josh...It seems he still don't know what's wrong about POE2.The question is not how to find new players, but how to keep old fans. POE2 have a lot of great new stuff. I love those new system, they are great. But it lose the most important part of RPG, the basic line: an epic main story. Environment driven is good thing. I like DOS2 too.But surely I won't pay money on POE for that reason. Combat system already balance in POE1 3.0 patch, He can just improve them, not the rewrite anything. At first, the balance of POE1 was terrible too.But it still sold really well.So balance is not a big issue.Anyway, the combat system of POE2 have more fun than POE1.The true problem of POE2 is the weakness of main plot.

Should there have been a mid-game detour like the Underdark? (BG2 and POE2 spoilers)
bronzepoem replied to Mallard's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire Stories (Spoiler Warning!)l really love your idea.It will make POE2 great again Obsidian could make a DLC to add this part into th mid-game.After all only 3 DLC is not enough for a epic RPG. Since we have a submarine, why don't we explore the mysterious world underwater? It could be a cthulhu style advanture.

Some Concerns Regarding Patch 1.1
bronzepoem replied to Cyrus_Blackfeather's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)1.1 patch seems added too many enemy units to make game harder. It won't make more fun, but lead to trash fights. Give enemies bettter AI, more epic weapon, and desgin more superior bosses will be better idea.

About the Chinese translation...
First,I should say, good job,Obsidian. It seems you guys found a really professional translation group this time. Maybe someone have noticed that on the steam platform quite a few Chinese players gave POE2 recommendation even though they met terrible bugs, game crashs, just because the beautiful translation. The poetic names of Chanter's skills,Eder's humorous dialogues, the first impression is amazing.More and more Chinese players start to know there is another classic RPG which could be compared with D:OS 2.That's a good start in Chinese market. But,I still need to say but,the problem of the first edition of Chinese translation is still very terrible.Wrong direction in quest guide, different names for same NPC,missing link of key words, confusing translation in skill explainations, deeper we play, more terrible the translation become. It seems the translation group didn't have enough time to do the final proof-reading and test work? I don't know why,but the fix work is really urgent. If Obsidian could continue to improve Chinese translation,I'm sure Chinese players will give you guys much more financial support in future. Finally, thanks for the great job in POE2 and sorry for my poor English.

My review of the game
bronzepoem replied to PlayerHOI's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)About the weakness of main story, maybe they put the heavy part of the main story line in the DLCs.That's highly possible.Especially in the third DLC.At last, the level cap will become 30 level and the main story will be 15-30 hours longer. Genius design,Obsidian.Just ike SOA and TOB.

How are the writers planning on creating a more compelling story for POE2?
bronzepoem replied to Idleray's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)I most like Durance. Anyway, good writers are the most important part of the team.Wish we can get more information about them as soon as possible.

White March Part 2 officially announced, coming January
We are going to be re-tuning the late game difficulty to both reduce mobs and make the remaining combats more challenging for higher level characters. I wish the contents in the late game could be remade too,not only the difficulty. The quests in the late game were too weak, too few.

Chris Avellone says Pillars of Eternity was too linear and that he had little impact on the story
I was referring to GM. She is one of the worst characters I have seen in an RPG for a long time. Her plot is totally one dimensional, she has zero character growth, her justifications for traveling with you are paper thin. She is an absolute wasted opportunity and they should have stuck with the original concept of the Cipher companion being a part of Dunryd Row. Durance is a D Bag but his writing is fine. I didn't even get into GM but I completely agree with this. She was so flat.Chris wanted to design a mind dungeon for DM,but it was cuted. The plot was cuted too much.

Anyone else just waiting?
Care to elaborate? How long do you think it will take to finish ? There isn't a sense of the game being "finalized", at least for me. I have the game since launch, and up to the last patch it introduced heavy changes. Some would even say some changes went against the initial design philosophy. Check out AndreaColombo's posts on further patch tease. Those normally includes direct replies/quotes from Josh Sawyer and so far they have been accurate. Things to expect may include: Stronghold changes Chanter mechanics change Casters' per-enc system changes So yeah...I think the first thing need to be improved is the boring companions.

So that's why the story is so flat.

What needs improvement (in next DLC or Pillars2)
I think they can do these at DLC3

PLEASE make this game online
There are only three ways to make enough profit for next big project :1 make POE on console; 2 make POE on tablet; 3 make POE online. Which way is the easiest one?

Dissapointed about expansion
Yes,it's not a sequel, it's an expansion. Do love the add-on structure.
