  1. My friend kill the red dragon in level 7, in the Path of Damned level. He told me the combat in PoE is too easy to play.,And the game not worth to play, only suit to those light players. He really make me angry.Who can tell me which battle is the hardest one?I must let him know he is a fool.
  2. Thank you! I will try this link again.Wish they can see my message as early as possible.Today is the big day so they must be super busy...
  3. Hi holy Obsidian! Deeply sorry!!! I'm a Chinese $1000 backer of PoE. The game will release today but I found my shipping address is wrong!Could you please stop shipping my copy now?!! My account is bronzepoem. The old address is a global logistics which transports items for me from USA to China. But a few days ago they just stopped operation and I just knew it 10 minutes ago! So could you help me to Change the shipping address to another one, maybe my Chinese address?I will pay for all the additional cost.Anyway, just stop shipping it for now! Please!!Please! Please!! Thank you very much! Kai
  4. Just wonder, will diffculty level change looting and EXP?
  5. Do you really think so?Then Obsidian need to make a game called Chess Titans or MineSweeper, not Pillars of Eternity. Baldur's Gate 2 was totally unbalanced, but it was most successful. Also in my last topic I metioned that it won't cost big budget to design a good pickpocketing mechanic to give players the choice of thief roleplay.
  6. While I know you didn't read my post after that one. It seems you really don't like the pickpocketing design in Fallout. But I still want to say, it was really brilliant design, which just need to be balanced. We can change the planting explosives into something like a special "mini bomb", which is very hard to build or get.So the pickpocketing skill won't be used too powerfully, and we still can enjoy the amazing role playing of The Specialist. It's a role playing game, not a RTS. We shouldn't roughly delete a role playing feature,to achieve balance or fewer bugs. That's put the cart before the horse.
  7. Thanks for bringing up the exploit of Algernon's cloak to prove my point about how people only cared to the extent they used it to get crazy crap off NPCs. And then the PS:T quest based uses which PoE can still have as I have pointed out multiple times now. You don't need a pickpocket skill to have opportunities to steal in the game. That's what is perhaps getting lost in the knee jerk reactions. Like in PS:T you didn't need a break necks skill to kill some Dustmen. If it turns out there will be no opportunities via quests/dialogues etc. for larceny then that is a valid complaint I can get behind. Core: a basic, essential or enduring part (as of an individual, a class or an entity) Now you're probably going to say it was a basic part of the rogue class and that is fair enough but I never said it wasn't a big part of the rogue shtick. I said as a whole free, roam pickpocketing was not an essential part of the IE games. Disagree.Of course I can't break THE Dustmen's necks via dialogues.I can only break very a few Dustmen's necks who are choosed by quest designer. Here is no free choice by players, while Obsidian always emphasize that they don't want control players, and give the choice back to players. It's totally not important if pickpocketing via dialogues or via a button. What we are complaining about is a pickpocketing mechanic. If you only can pickpocket a few NPCs who choosed by designer via dialogues, that's quests. If you can pickpocket anyone you want to pickpocket via dialogues, that's a mechanic. It's all about free choice. Sorry for my poor English, it maybe very hard to understand
  8. While I know you didn't read my post after that one. Yes,I didn't read your post clearly. My fault.
  9. I write about this on my topic before. http://forums.obsidian.net/topic/66550-design-a-pickpocketing-mechanic/ Some games did bad job on pickpocketing like BG or DA:O,but that doesn't means you can just delete this feature. My sister cook a bad rice,it doesn't mean I will refuse all rice in future.
  10. I'm not sure if allow ranger to summon more creatures is a good idea.It will decrease the importance of pet. Also it's somekind of overlap with Chanter. But allow ranger to charm wild beasts is a good idea, which is reasonable, also it's esay to be balanced Maybe the most important thing need to do for ranger is to design more pet skills, and more skills besides range attack.
  11. I think the main problem about Ranger is not underpower, but boring. This class only have a few range abilities,Their pets almost have no ability. No melee abilities, no tracking abilities,no animal friend abilities, no various tactics,it's only a archer with a boring pet. It's easy to tweak a underpower class, but it's hard to change a not interesting class.
  12. So it seems the mechanic skill is a little overpower.
  13. Yes,there is.But maybe it's not finished or it only influence important NPCs, in the Beta I almost can't feel it. When your reputation in Dryford is "horrible",the innkeeper still support you food and room kindly and the bard still sing to you.
  14. The story behind the Black Hound Inn is a little strange. It was designated to be a backer inn. During production we informed the inn backers to fill out their design ideas and get them back to us. Several producers followed up with these backers. It generally took several weeks, sometimes longer, to get all the designs back in. I personally called a few of them myself to try to expedite the process. We had a mysterious backer that never got back to us. Email, phone calls, nothing. At one point I left the backer my personal cell phone and urged him to get back to us as time was running out. Still nothing. We were a little baffled and hoped everything was ok with this backer but ultimately had to move on. At that point we already had a basic blockout for the inn located in Gilded Vale. Without spoiling anything, we kind of worked the real life situation into some lore about the inn, but it still needed a name. Olivia Veras, the designer for Gilded Vale, came to Josh and I saying some of the designers wanted to call the inn the Black Hound. I liked the idea and so did Josh. Not sure who's idea it was for the stained glass art (probably Josh), but it looks great in game. The guy who didn't finish the item design is still alive I think I can finish it within 1 month, for the expansion. Don't abandon me~
  15. And when the villagers were attacked, the only response was attack back, even a poor grandpa.I think crying, running away, asking for help will be more realistic response.
  16. maybe since they are in the inn and are drunk they dont realize everyone else is dead Of course not When you come back 1 week later, they still don't realize. Also,if you kill all the villagers in the houses, the villagers outside won't care.
  17. Most strange thing in beta was that, when you kill all the villagers outside, the villagers in the inn are still very kind to you.
  18. Solo in BG2 support great fun just because of Dual class and Multi class. That was a great design.
