Question for the regulars here
I'm not socialized well enough to really understand the point of memorialization. But I suspect they're often as much about comforting those who grieve as they are in honoring the mentioned. If it helps you, I do not see it as a bad idea.

Lie: P:E would be a better game if all our dialogue options express our character's true intentions exactly
Tale replied to Death Machine Miyagi's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)For those lies, what's the point in a mechanical distinction? It's exclusively in intent, a value of no worth outside an alignment system.

Lie: P:E would be a better game if all our dialogue options express our character's true intentions exactly
Tale replied to Death Machine Miyagi's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)Are we talking about "[Lie] I will save the children" options or just the options to say "I will save the children" and you simply don't do it? I prefer the latter, in all honesty.

Some issues with the timed-lockout spell-casting system
Of course but that requires ALL spells that are on cooldown to be such spells that are not that useful to cast early in a battle. I don't follow. Mass Heal's situational nature is agnostic to fireball's. But whatever else might limit the use of Mass Heal still presents that tactical consideration. Do I use X now and risk being unable to use Y the moment I need it? That's far from the only logical explanation. There's other possibilities, such as allowing for longer multi-stage fights with resets (even Neverwinter Nights 2 did this during the King of Shadows fight). Or for allowing recovery if you screw up early and put on cooldown things you need later on, without forcing it to be a total wipe because you can no longer breach protections.

GotY potential?
There are so many game of the year awards, it seems hard not to get one. Every single publication has their own game of the year, then they also have genre game of the year awards.

Idea: Remove of quest markers and inclusion of detailed journal.
Considering the titles they're looking to for inspiration, I don't think there's anything to "remove." Though I do hope they make the journal more navigable than is traditional. I'm talking about giving every quest a dedicated page and bookmark, instead of just lumping everything together.

Dinosaurs
This would be an acceptable alternative to feathered dinosaurs.

Dinosaurs
The big question on everyone's mind, will Project Eternity have dinosaurs? What kind of dinosaurs? Will they be animal companions? Will there be a Dinosauria race as playable? To temper my own enthusiasm, they're not that original. But one thing that's really underdone is showing their contemporary representation, feathered. That's what I would like to see, a nice big feathered Tyrannosaurid. Do you think they're simply overdone? Do you want to see them as monsters or NPCs? A new, updated take?

Some issues with the timed-lockout spell-casting system
The only way for this to happen is if there's no situational value to the spells. Why would you blow Mass Heal when you only need to Heal one person? You might get Mass Heal back before the fight is over, but you're going to spend who knows how long without it available and you might actually need it.

Classes and Races with Regard to Stats and Multiclass Penalty Implementation
Yes because in Arcanum it worked so well and added depth. Did I miss something where Arcanum was the only game lacking a hard cap?

[Merged] George Ziets as as the 2.8 million stretch goal
Are you saying that Ziets will be a companion? Great to hear. I was slightly worried we wouldn't hit it. Last night had an amazing surge, though.

XP Sharing
I think everyone should have their XP based on the PC's. Either everyone just follows his level or they have set level adjustments and will always be X levels ahead or behind. I like to have my entire toolbox be useful. And I hate to grind. If a companion falls enough behind that his ability to land an attack against the enemies the rest of the party fights is half that of the party, then there's little reason to ever use this character again. And how would the custom Adventurer Hall companions be? Would they start out at level 1 when you're 20, making them useless? The worst I can be comfortable with is if there's a mechanism that allows them to catch up. Say you're level 20 and the companion is level 1. You fight a level 20 enemy and the companion gets bonus XP allowing him to start catching up. I still don't like it because it reintroduces the grind. Just less grind.

Multi-Class: Establishing Proper Lore/NPC/Trainers
The same way you explain a wizard casting spells. Because he's a wizard and a warrior, not just a warrior. No, it requires whatever you require of a standard wizard. You're going to have that same problem with regular wizards. How does a wizard jump from level 1 spells to level 2 at all? That's the training issue, but it's not exclusive to multiclass. Just say he was training all along, but it is only strong enough now to manifest or be useful. Levels are discrete because that's the mechanical limitation, but the things they represent are granular and you must imply the smaller steps. Yes. He's a level 1 fighter. That's what, a mere +1 BAB? And a feat? He's not a heavyweight boxing champion from one level. He didn't gain any spellcasting ability from that level, either, unless he's a practiced spellcaster and that's kind of the implication of that feat. Clearly he was doing more training of his physical than his mental during that time period. More likely he made simply adjusted his training regimen.

Multi-Class: Establishing Proper Lore/NPC/Trainers
Maybe you're just playing with the wrong people. My Rogue/Rangers and Rogue/Warlocks were always about a character concept. I even built a Rogue/Warlock in 4E when the multiclass was a waste of a feat for her. I don't see where the idea comes from that it's so special to be multiclass. It allows for blending of concepts. Like my previously mentioned Rogue/Ranger I had. He was envisioned as an urban ranger, a man tracker. Does that require some special order be created? Or that he just fight underhanded while following people around and breaking into their homes?

Then you either have to grind to catch them up or they become completely useless and will never catch up. As they fall behind, they will only contribute less.

The other two races
They could be referring to subraces by the "races." Tiefling, Aasimar, and Genasi are considered different races in D&D, but were subraces of Planetouched in Neverwinter Nights 2.
