  1. It's a bit late now but yeah... whoever pushed for this to be in the game made a massive blunder.
  2. You get the satisfaction of knowing you did it. Don't let a little pop up box be the only factor determining worth in life.
  3. Ahh I remember this topic... brings back memories all those years ago.
  4. Dragon Age 2 is the best Dragon Age game. Bit of a blanket statement, I think Final Fantasy 10 has a brilliant story and characters but Final Fantasy 13 is rubbish. Baldur's Gate 1/2 have a brilliant story and characters, Two Worlds is utter garbage.
  5. I think a big problem with new settings in these kinds of game sis the amount of exposition and info dump thrown at the player. In the DND games most players were pretty familiar with the world, history, gods, factions, cities whatever so it doesn't need to be explained. Yeah I think expectations were too high with the sales, cut the full VO, and boat mini game and the budget would have been significantly lower and Josh Sawyer's sanity would have remained intact. Butttt… I think Obsidian were desperate to get back to the good old days so chucked a load of stuff in to try appeal to too many groups of people. I really wish they had included fishing or sea monster hunting instead of the boat combat.
  6. Desperate for a good Hard Sci Fi RPG! Isometric or third person... maybe with pre-rendered backgrounds. With awesome music by Jerry Goldsmith... they'd have to bring him back from the dead but it would be worth it.
  7. BG2 is more than the sum of its parts. Deadfire has some really good indivudal aspects but not necessarily as a whole.... if that makes sense.
  8. ur butt needs 2 bit scrub
  9. I quite like GOG Galaxy, its very minimalist. Not too much crap in your face like Steam. Also, a good old game I just got was The Curse of Monkey Island. Not sure if it's still on sale.
  10. The problem I have with this mid game ones is that they tend to feel really disconnected with the main game. Example, White March... it might be the best part of the first game but going to do that and then returning to a lower quality game is really jarring.
  11. Hmm, I could have sworn that the majority result was a post game beefy expansion a la Throne of Bhaal... yet they chose not to do that.
  12. Anything said here would be in the public domain wouldn't it?
  13. I have't played past the first 45 mins of Tyranny. It frontloads so many choices at you without having learned anything about the characters, factions, world or whatever. I just felt overwhelmed and gave up.
  14. Haven't had a disk drive in many many years....! oh well cheers.
  15. I don't like Deadfire more purely because it's in not in full 3D... I really like KOTOR2, i probably prefer that to Deadfire because it took Star Wars in a really different, unique and interesting direction for once.
  16. Did it ever come out on PC? I never played it. KOTOR 2 or NWN2 for me. NWN 2 is extremely flawed but I still like it. I'm a sucker for Forgotten Realms.
  17. Huh I dont understand how you're an rpg fan but never finished all of bg2?????
  18. Ah I actually know the real reason... it's because there was no full dwarven companion!!!!
  19. I'll give you some science. Chicken leads to egg, egg leads to omlette, omlette leads toe fecal urgency.
  20. There is an audience for these types of games, the budget/expectations were too high. The Shadowrun games had 0 voice acting and were perfectly fine. They focused too much on things which didn't really matter... v/o and the ship minigame. Didn't Josh say the Ship game was a black hole of resources? And it's the most universally disliked part of the game. Should have been scrapped... i like that Josh basically said 'I was told we had to put it in even though I said it was a bad idea'. Very honest of him.
