Let's have something new, put this series on the back burner. HARD SCI FI RPG! Just keep dropping it in hopefully someone will read it and get inspired.

That is a lot of text... will read it next week. I'm curious what people consider 'good writing' in games. I think BG1/2 have really good writing, it suits the game and Forgotten Realms. It's funny and interesting, it's not a shining example of fine writing but it works for the game. Does every game need to strive to be War and Peace or whatever? As long as the writing works for the game, isn't that good enough? I think 'The Beach' is a fine piece of literature, my favourite book i re-read every year or so... because it serves the story and characters well not because it's something that needs to be studied in literature at university. I still Like 1984 and Brave New World but I won't re read them anytime soon. The Sopranos has fantastic writing, it's funny and keeps you engaged. But it's mainly swearing and talking about food!

I wasnt entirely enamoured with the first game. Deadfire is a massive improvement... for me.

Maybe they can't be bothered anymore, I can't be bothered either.

Did people complain about Dorian in DA:I? He is my favourite character, i don't think him being gay is shoved in your face at all.

I prefer not having a voice, similar to Dragon Age/KOTOR/BG etc. Feels more personal to me. I never felt like Shepard/Hawke/Inquisitor was MY character. Edit: That being said, I still like Shepard as a character and think it worked in those games having more of a defined character. I guess it depends on the game.

TOW's combat is better than Fallout 3/NV/4 IMO. Not that it's saying much as the combat in those games were pretty awful.

There you go, apparently if you make anything a first person shooter it will be successful.

Hmm... how do you get the motivation to immediately replay a game you rushed through in a week? Takes me years to muster the will to replay games i've completed.

Ya know I was against all this SJW crap but i've been thinking.. who cares? As long as the game is fun does it really matter?

Okay after reading all this feedback and finally playing myself... I felt completely overwhelmed by the amount of options and whatnot within minutes, so not really sure where the criticism for lack of options is coming from. Graphics look fine, plenty of choices SO FAR. ONLY played for 30 mins yeah. I changed the FOV a bit and don't feel too bad but still a bit wishy washy. The game seems alright so far anyway.

This is a misunderstanding. People are wanting more difficulty options so you can mix and match different parameters or whatever. Like pathfinder kingmaker. That has tons of options.

I don't think any feature requests will make it into the game at this point. Well.. major features. Do any developers even look at this board?! But it's always nice just to speculate.

Absolutely hoping third person gets added. As soon as I got to gameplay and moved around my head started spinning and felt horrible. Damn it all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Why does this happen?!?

I never played Numenera or Wasteland 2, however the Shadowrun games are quite good. Particularly Dragonfall. I've only heard negative things about Numenera.

The game has been out less than a week. Have you done nothing else in this time? Don't you have a job to go to? People to see? Exercise? Things to do?

Wow pretty high praise. Not sure i'd consider many things a masterpiece. Surely that implies it is the highest quality of work achievable in an area. I am even more eager to play it now.

Of course we don't, but it is likely. Marketing is key.
