How much DLC is planned for POE 2?
Wormerine replied to Stardusk78's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)Sure, but they might have looked at CD Project and introduced bunch of tiny free DLCs to keep people preoccupied before expansions come out. The big issue is, that in order to sell meaty expansions you need keep people engaged. Even if they like the base game there is a big danger that your player base will move on. CD project decided to release bunch of small DLC which maybe didn't make people come back to the game, but kept the game in news. Maybe it is a similar approach? I cenrtainly wouldn't be too happy with bunch of items as one of the "expansions".

The Deadfire Scavenger Codes - WE FOUND THEM ALL - Cutthroat Cosmo! - Bonus Pets!
Wormerine replied to Ethics Gradient's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)I mean.... Cutthroat Cosmo? If those items are indeed redeemable via codes we found... I am not 100 sure why they are done the way they are done. If you bought the game, there is little benefit to Obsidian from watching their promo stuff. If you didn't buy the game, the codes probably won't make you do it. Still, Cutthroad Cosmo? <3

How much DLC is planned for POE 2?
Wormerine replied to Stardusk78's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)2018-04-10 - Removed from Store Seems they are trying to hide it again ;P So Is it correct to assume that Scavenger Hunt is #1 of #3 DLCs? Eh, I just realized nobody is gonna know the answer to that anyhow :D I highly doubt it. Those all some like one item cosmetics. We have been piling up those codes which are posted all over place. Maybe that’s them? https://forums.obsidian.net/topic/95782-worldofeternity-funny-business-speculation/page-1

Josh Sawyer's tweets and teasers, part III
Wormerine replied to Amentep's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)Of course they are the only ones. At least they are the ones Obsidian advertises with for a time being. When ME2 was advertising with Martin Sheen it didn’t mean he was the only actor there.

question about enemy AI
I found engagement and tanks very useful in PoE1 (even to this day - currently replaying it) so I am not sure how to reply. In Deadfire I found my back line to be targeted much more often - spiders pull mages to the front, ranged units targeting back line, AOE spells etc. Nothin too crazy but in Deadfire beta I find myself much more conscious of my positioning. Sending mage to the front and casting a lengthy spell means drawing a target sign on him as enemies seem to be wired to interrupt spellcasting. Fighters seem especially good in keeping enemies locked, with crazy amount of engagements and some handy interupts&pulls.

What affects gun Reload Speed?
That’s... disappointing. I liked that firearms didn’t get influenced by dexterity. Sort of a weapon of choice for character withoutnhigh dexterity, differentiating weapons at least a bit.
- What do you want in DLCs ?

The Deadfire Scavenger Codes - WE FOUND THEM ALL - Cutthroat Cosmo! - Bonus Pets!
Wormerine replied to Ethics Gradient's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)But those are unlockable via achievement point no? There is sort of incomplete UI related to achievements in beta4.

Does the Collector's Edition come with the Obsidian Edition?
Wormerine replied to Mitchell's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)If you backed the game via. Fig or backer portal, then no, DLC is not included. A key for the game should be redeemable already on the backer portal, and it will list exactly what you will be getting. Fig packages are seperate items from the buyable copies on stream. Pre-ordered bonuses are included. As expansion pack wasn’t part of any of the pledges and it needs to be purchased as a seperate $20 addon. As a heads up, if you purchase the expansions addon via backer portal, you won’t receive key just yet. It will most likely be generated closer to release dates of each expansion.

Does anyone else get the feeling that deadfire is more goofy and gimmicky then pillars
Wormerine replied to master guardian's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)To me, personally, the problem with base PoE was that it was too much one tone. Put to much depressing/violent/shocking content and it uses its value. Same way for humor. Put too much of it, and it stops being funny. The key is to mix those. Prepare a violent scene in a more casual quest. Bring players hopes up, before introducing something really bad. In PoE it’s not that soulless babies were too much, but they were a constant norm, which quickly lost its impact.promise of more varied tone of Deadfire, hopefully will result in a more effective storytelling.

Does anyone else get the feeling that deadfire is more goofy and gimmicky then pillars
Wormerine replied to master guardian's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)I was worried that Deadfire might loose this grounded and complex atmosphere when moved into a “piratey” setting. After playing beta I have no worries about it. We have seen little, but it feels like Pillars. I don’t recall anything particularly, though a wider range of emotions will be welcome. Some of the more entertaining and straightforward quests of WM made the darker parts only more impactful. There is still a long long way to the buffoonery of D:OS, and BGs were much closer to it that Deadfire seems to be.

Trap xp
I agree! While removing all the so float (opening locks, learning spells, killing trash enemies) the xp for traps remained, making it preferable to disarm the trap over everything else. Gaining a trap and selling/replanting it seems like a good enough alternative to luring enemy into it.

How much DLC is planned for POE 2?
Wormerine replied to Stardusk78's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)I assum you didn’t play White March. Your loss. In addition, you don’t have to replay PoE1 to play WM. Reload pre-sun in shadow save and play WM as a standalone adventure (though thematically and even storywise ties to base game). As someone who replays games he likes, i prefer if expansions expand the base game, not add additional dangling threads. Firaxis style expansions are my thing. New dues ex really frustrated me with weird dlc which could be integrated into the base game and one which just didn’t have anything to do with base game. It’s like releasing directors cut or a movie but adding stuff afterward which have nothing to do with film... you either have stuff to expand on, and add, or you don’t.

Josh Sawyer's tweets and teasers, part III
Wormerine replied to Amentep's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)I wish I could second that, but I'm all aboard the Maia train. I'm not aboard any train yet, but I'm leaning more towards the old buddies, cuz I know them better. I've yet to figure out what's so appealing about a scaly fish man that turns into a...fish. Is it some sort of fetish? An Oscar worthy fetish!

Sword/Pistol dual wielding
Don’t they attack with both weapons regardless. I equipped my rogue with two pistols recently and I am pretty sure he would fire both pistols during auto attack... I am pretty sure one of them should be empty.

Character Import
Wormerine replied to wpmaura's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS):-D. So we play as a toddler! Ok, you have my interest now. I still don’t see a benefit of moving Watcher to different body, beyond alienating new players. It’s like a direct sequel, but without benefits of a direct sequel but with all its drawback,
